Mango(Mangifera indica)is a major tropical fruit species cultivated in *** objective of this study was to identify species of Lasiodiplodia associated with dieback and stem-end rot of mango in the semi-arid region of Northeastern brazil,and compare the species in relation to mycelial growth,pathogenicity and virulence.A total of 120 isolates of Lasiodiplodia were used and identifications were made using a combination of morphology and phylogenetic analysis based on partial translation elongation factor 1-αsequence(EF1-α)and internal transcribed spacers(ITS).The following species were identified:Lasiodiplodia crassispora,***,***,***,***,*** and Lasiodiplodia sp..Lasiodiplodia theobromae was the most frequently isolated species,which represented 41%of all the *** this species had been previously reported on mango in brazil,while the other species represent the first report associated with mango tree diseases in this *** crassispora is reported for the first time associated with mango diseases *** were significant differences in mycelial growth rates among the Lasiodiplodia species and also in the optimum temperature for *** species of Lasiodiplodia were pathogenic on mango *** were significant differences in virulence among the species,wherein *** and Lasiodiplodia *** the most virulent,while the least virulent were ***,***,*** and ***.

Moringa oleifera Lam(Moringaceae) is a plant with high nutritional and medicinal value. Native to India, it is now widely distributed throughout tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Its different parts are sources of proteins, vitamins and minerals and present different pharmacological and biotechnological potential. Moreover, M. oleifera seeds are widely used in water and effluent treatment, for their coagulation, flocculation and sedimentation properties, their ability of improving water quality, by reducing organic matter and microbial load, with special applicability in intensive animal production systems, such as aquaculture. In addition, due to its high nutritional value and several medicinal properties, this tree may act as a nutritional and medical alternative for socially neglected populations. In this context, this review gathers information on M. oleifera, emphasizing its chemical constituents, nutritional, pharmacological and antimicrobial properties, applications in the treatment of water effluents, and ecological and social aspects.

Development of a novel in vivo lung perfusion(IVLP)procedure allows localized delivery of high-dose doxorubicin(DOX)for targeting residual micrometastatic disease in the ***,DOX delivery via IVLP requires careful monitoring of drug level to ensure tissue concentrations of this agent remain in the therapeutic window.A small dimension nitinol wire coated with a sorbent of biocompatible morphology(bio-SPME)has been clinically evaluated for in vivo lung tissue extraction and determination of DOX and its key *** in vivo bio-SPME-IVLP experiments were performed on pig model over various(150 and 225 mg/m^(2))drug doses,and during human clinical *** patients with metastatic osteosarcoma were treated with a single 5 and 7 μg/mL(respectively)dose of DOX during a 3-h *** both pig and human cases,DOX tissue levels presented similar trends during *** lung tissue concentrations of drug ranged between 15 and 293 μg/g over the course of the IVLP *** addition to DOX levels,bio-SPME followed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis generated 64 metabolic features during endogenous metabolite screening,providing information about lung status during drug ***-time monitoring of DOX levels in the lungs can be performed effectively throughout the IVLP procedure by in vivo bio-SPME chemical biopsy ***-SPME also extracted various endogenous molecules,thus providing a real-time snapshot of the physiology of the cells,which might assist in the tailoring of personalized treatment strategy.

The confocal microscopy technique was applied for nonlinear optical characterization of single β-barium-borate（β-bbO） nanocrystals. The experimental setup allows measurements of the laser polarization-selective secondharmonic（SH） generation, and the results can be used to determine the nanocrystals＇ c-axis orientation, as well as to obtain information about their second-order susceptibility χ^（2）. The dependence of the SH signal on the laser polarization allowed the discrimination of individual particles from aggregates. The data were fitted using a model that takes into account the bbO properties and the experimental setup characteristics considering（i） the electrostatic approximation,（ii） the effects of the microscope objective used to focus the light on the sample in an epi-geometry configuration, and（iii） the symmetry of χ^（2） for the β-bbO nanocrystals. A signal at the third-harmonic frequency was also detected, but it was too weak to be studied in detail.

In this study,we implemented the type Ⅱ seesaw mechanism into the framework of the U(l)b-L gauge *** achieve this,we added a scalar triplet,A,to the canonical particle content of the U(l)b-Lgauge *** imposing that the U(l)b-L gauge symmetry be spontaneously broken at TeV scale,we show that the type Ⅱ seesaw mechanism is realized at an intermediate energy scale,more precisely,at approximately 109 *** prevent heavy right-handed neutrinos from disturbing the mechanism,we evoke a Z2 discrete ***,as a result,we have standard neutrinos with mass around eV scale and right-handed neutrinos with mass in TeV scale,with the lightest one fulfilling the condition of dark *** developed all of these in this *** addition,we show that the neutral component of Δ may perform unproblematic non-minimal inflation with loss of unitarity.

To achieve the Paris Agreement,China pledged to become“Carbon Neutral”by the *** addition to massive decarbonization,this would require significant changes in ecosystems toward negative CO_(2)*** ability of coastal blue carbon ecosystems(bCEs),including mangrove,salt marsh,and seagrass meadows,to sequester large amounts of CO_(2)makes their conservation and restoration an important“nature-based solution(NbS)”for climate adaptation and *** this review,we examine how bCEs in China can contribute to climate *** the national scale,the bCEs in China store up to 118 Tg C across a total area of 1,440,377 ha,including over 75%as unvegetated tidal *** annual sedimental C burial of these bCEs reaches up to 2.06 Tg C year^(−1),of which most occurs in salt marshes and tidal *** lateral C flux of mangroves and salt marshes contributes to 1.17 Tg C year^(−1)along the Chinese *** and restoration of bCEs benefit climate change mitigation and provide other ecological services with a value of$32,000 ha^(−1)year^(−1).The potential practices and technologies that can be implemented in China to improve bCE C sequestration,including their constraints and feasibility,are also *** directions are suggested to improve blue carbon estimates on aerial extent,carbon stocks,sequestration,and mitigation *** and preserving bCEs would be a cost-effective step to achieve Carbon Neutral by 2060 in China despite various barriers that should be removed.

Objective: To report atypical morphological features of Trichophyton(T.) tonsurans strains associated with tinea capitis. Methods: Eighty-two T. tonsurans strains isolated in Ceará, brazil, were analyzed regarding macro and micromorphological features and nutritional patterns. Results: Fifty-two samples presented abundant chlamydoconidia, which were produced in chains. Macroscopically, these strains developed small glabrous colonies that were firmly attached to the surface of the culture medium, with few or no aerial mycelia and intense rusty yellow pigmentation. Seven strains did not grow with stimulus from thiamine. Samples were heterogeneous regarding urease production and none presented in vitro hair perforation. Conclusions: The observation of T. tonsurans strains with distinct phenotypic features indicates the need to revise the taxonomic criteria for routine identification of this dermatophyte.

Culex mosquitoes are primarily found in temperate and tropical regions worldwide where they play a crucial role as main vectors of filarial worms and arboviruses. In Recife, a northeast city in brazil, high densities of Culex quinquefasciatus are often found in association with human populated areas. In marked contrast to another part of the city, field tests conducted in the neighborhood of Sitio dos Pintos showed that trapping of mosquitoes in skatole-baited ovitraps did not differ significantly from captures in control (water) traps. Thus, classical and molecular taxonomic approaches were used to analyze the Culex species circulating in Sitio dos Pintos. Results obtained from both approaches agreed on the cocirculation of Culex quinquefasciatus and Culex nigripalpus in three different areas of this neighborhood. What was initially considered as an unexpected failure of this lure turned out to be a more unsettling problem, that is, the first report in Recife of Culex nigripalpus, a vector of Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus and West Nile virus. Unplanned urbanization processes close to remnants of the Atlantic forest, such as observed in Sitio dos Pintos, may have contributed to the introduction of Cx. nigripalpus in urban areas.
