Exact Computation of the Topology and Geometric Invariants of the Voronoi Diagram of Spheres in 3D

In this paper, we are addressing the exact the Voronoi diagram of spheres using Wu＇s algorithm. computation of the Delaunay graph （or quasi-triangulation） and Our main contributions are first a methodology for automated derivation of invariants of the Delaunay empty circumsphere predicate for spheres and the Voronoi vertex of four spheres, then the application of this methodology to get all geometrical invariants that intervene in this problem and the exact computation of the Delaunay graph and the Voronoi diagram of spheres. To the best of our knowledge, there does not exist a comprehensive treatment of the exact computation with geometrical invariants of the Delaunay graph and the Voronoi diagram of spheres. Starting from the system of equations defining the zero-dimensional algebraic set of the problem, we are applying Wu＇s algorithm to transform the initial system into an equivalent Wu characteristic （triangular） set. In the corresponding system of algebraic equations, in each polynomial （except the first one）, the variable with higher order from the preceding polynomial has been eliminated （by pseudo-remainder computations） and the last polynomial we obtain is a polynomial of a single variable. By regrouping all the formal coefficients for each monomial in each polynomial, we get polynomials that are invariants for the given problem. We rewrite the original system by replacing the invariant polynomials by new formal coefficients. We repeat the process until all the algebraic relationships （syzygies） between the invariants have been found by applying Wu＇s algorithm on the invariants. Finally, we present an incremental algorithm for the construction of Voronoi diagrams and Delaunay graphs of spheres in 3D and its application to Geodesy.

This review aimed to investigate the technological potential of grape pomace for application in the meat industry,approaching the compounds of interest and presenting the challenges of its application in meat *** pomace contains bioactive and nutritional compounds with beneficial properties for maintaining the physical-chemical,sensory,and nutritional quality of meat and its *** studies have reported the presence of fiber,amino acids,essential fatty acids and minerals capable of increasing the nutritional value of meat products and promoting a nutrient supply when associated with animal ***,the bioactive composition of grape pomace has anthocyanins,flavanols and phenolic acids capable of increasing the shelf life of meat products,inhibiting microbial development,and delaying the oxidative processes responsible for the deterioration of sensory and nutritional *** use of nano and microencapsulation technologies and the use of active packaging as carriers of grape pomace extracts enhance their application in meat and meat *** technologies,applied individually or together,promote the controlled release of bioactive compounds during the storage and mask undesirable flavors promoted by phenolic *** addition to the technological potential,the use of grape pomace by the meat industry meets the current demand for the use of natural additives and is in accordance with the sustainable development objectives established by the United Nations Organization,reducing environmental impacts and allowing the obtaining molecules with high added value from industrial waste.

Yield, Water Use Efficiency and Physiological Characteristic of “Tommy Atkins” Mango under Partial Rootzone Drying Irrigation System

This study was conducted to evaluate the yield, water use efficiency and physiologic characteristics of “Tommy Atkins” mango under partial rootzone drying. The experiment was carried out in an orchard of mango in the irrigated perimeter of Ceraíma, BA. Five treatments and six repetitions were used with one tree per experimental plot: 01—Full Irrigation, 100% of ETc, 02—100% of ETc with frequency of alternance (FA) of 15 days, 03—80% ETc with FA of 15 days, 04—60% of ETc with FA of 15 days, 05—40% ETc with FA of 15 days. The treatments were conductedfrom the beginning of flowering to the harvest of mango in an orchard irrigated by drip. There was no significant reduction in productivity of “Tommy Atkins” mango under PRD up to 40% of ETc and PRD with 40% ETc resulted in greater water use efficiency. There was no significant difference among the averages of photosynthetically active radiation, Qleaf;leaf temperature, Tl;internal CO2 concentration, Ci;transpiration, E;stomatal conductance, gs;photosynthesis, A;carboxylation efficiency, A/Ci;quantum efficiency of photosynthesis, A/Qleaf and instantaneous water use efficiency, A/E between full irrigation and PRD with different water depth. The increase in leaf temperature causes reduction in A/Qleaf and A/E, however, it increases the transpiration. Increased gs results in higher rates of E, A and A/Ci. The use of the PRD with 40% of ETc causes no interference in gas exchange, maintains the yield and increases water use efficiency in “Tommy Atkins” mango tree.

Grape processing generates residues rich in bioactive compounds with potential application in the meat ***,these substances are unstable and needs to be treated to allow their action during the processing and storage of meat *** this sense,a phenolic-rich extract from grape pomace was microencapsulated and evaluated for its potential to inhibit the oxidative process in raw and precooked beef burgers during cold *** hamburger formulations containing lyophilized extract(LEB),microencapsulated extract(MEB)and synthetic antioxidant sodium erythorbate(SEB)were prepared,pre-cooked,and evaluated for lipid and protein *** microencapsulation,with 95.0%efficiency,provided a material with a crystalline structure,rich in phenolics and with high antioxidant potential,showing 377.4±0.01,1768.1±0.07 and 1185.0±0.20μmol TEAC.100 g−1 for DPPH,ABTS and FRAP,*** values of malonaldehyde were found in LEB and MEB(2.9±0.3 and 1.4±0.5 mg ***−1,respectively)at the end of storage,with emphasis on for the hamburgers that received the microencapsulated *** behavior was observed for the analysis of carbonyl compounds,with values of 11.1±1.1,8.7±1.4 and 6.8±1.0 nM ***−1 in SEB,LEB and MEB,***,the freeze-dried and microencapsulated grape extracts showed superior results when compared to the synthetic antioxidant,increasing the oxidative stability of hamburgers,and avoiding significant color changes during the cold *** results indicate the high potential of the microencapsulated material to be used as a natural antioxidant in the meat industry.

This article presents the modal frequency recordings of a rigid bridge, monitored by the GPS receivers (Global Positioning System) with a data recording rate of 100 Hz and accelerometers. The GPS data processing was performed through the double-difference phase, using the adjusted interferometry technique (i.e. phase residue method—PRM®). In the method, the double-difference phase of the carrier L1 is realized by using two satellites only, one was positioned at the zenith of the structure and the other satellite was positioned near the horizon. The results of the parametric adjustment of the PRM observations were finalized through software Interferometry, mathematical algorithm were applied and compared with the accelerometer. The comparison served to validate the use of GPS as a fast and reliable instrument for the preliminary monitoring of the dynamic behavior of the bridge, road artworks which are common in several countries, especially in the Brazilian road network. The data time series from the GPS and accelerometers were processed using the Wavelet. The detection of frequencies means that the combination of 100 Hz GPS receivers and the PRM allows detecting vibrations up to 5 mm. It presented significant results which were never obtained by the Fourier Transform.

An Alternative Tool for Determining Flavonoid Compounds in Markhamia tomentosa and Bunchosia glandulifera Using Digital Image Analysis

Bunchosia glanduliera stands out because of the high content of flavonoid compounds in the pulp, contributing to the antioxidant potential of fruit extracts. Another plant species rich in flavonoid compounds is Markhamia tomentosa. However, to perform such an assay, a high-cost instrument is needed. To develop a simple and low-cost method for the determination of flavonoid compounds in M. tomentosa and B. glandulifera with PhotoMetrix® program application use pixels of digital imaging as an alternative method and linear correlation techniques for univariate analysis implementing systems of RGB colors (red, green, and blue). To determine the total flavonoids, the reaction with ferric chloride and quercetin was used as a control. For the acquisition of data or smartphones, low-cost materials were used, demonstrating the applicability of this analytical tool while comparing its cost to other analytical instrumentation. The total flavonoid content was also determined using a spectrophotometry technique in the visible ultraviolet spectrum (UV-Vis). The pulp of B. glandulifera showed the highest content of flavonoid compounds. The content of flavonoid compounds found in the fruit of B. glandulifera was 259.54 mg 100 g-1. In relation to the results found in the analysis of total flavonoids of M. tomentosa can be observed in the flower in natura has a higher content of these compounds. The use of PhotoMetrix® for the determination of flavonoid compounds in M. tomentosa and B. glandulifera reduced expense and analysis time. The method is reproducible and efficient. The proposed method can be adopted in different species.

The Pan American Health Organization(PAHO)defines congenital malformation as any functional or structural anomaly in the development of the fetus,due to factors originating before birth,whether genetic,environmental or *** aim of the present study was to identify the frequency of malformations,the type of congenital malformations and to correlate this with risk factors in live-born infants,using SLB *** data were collected through consultation of the medical records of live-born infants of the Balbina Mestrinho Maternity Hospital,15,621 live births were reported,of which 248(1.58%)presented congenital *** was a higher prevalence of malformations among live-born males(49.7%),with Apgar≥7 at the first and fifth minute,gestational age ranging from 37-41 weeks,with 46%being born with appropriate weight between 3,000-4,000 *** association of two or more defects was observed in 38.7%of the total cases and isolated anomalies in 67.3%,with predominance of alterations of the digestive system(26.3%),followed by malformations of the musculoskeletal system(21.2%),nervous system(20.2%)and cleft lip/cleft palate(9.1%).The results presented here may guide strategic actions to improve care for families of people with congenital malformations.

Thermal Behavior of Sr（ll） and Ba（ll）-Diclofenac Complexes in Solid State： Study of the Dehydration and Thermal Decomposition

Solid state compounds of general formula Sr（Diclof）2 ·5.7H2O and Ba（Diclof）2·4.8H2O were obtained. Thermo- gravimetry （TG）, differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）, X-ray diffraction powder patterns and microscopy analysis were used to characterize these compounds. Details concerning the dehydration and thermal decomposition as well as data of kinetic parameters have been described here. The kinetic behaviors of these stages were evaluated from several heating rates with samples masses of 2 and 5 mg in open crucibles under a nitrogen atmosphere. The results of the present study improve the knowledge on these compounds including their dehydration and thermal stability. The obtained data depend on the mass of the sample which results in two kinetic behavior patterns.

Growth mechanism of octahedron-like BaMoO_4 microcrystals processed in microwave-hydrothermal:Experimental observations and computational modeling

Octahedron-like BaMoO4 microcrystals were synthesized by the co-precipitation method at room temperature and processed in microwave-hydrothermal at 413 K for different times （from 30 min to 5 h）. These microcrystals were analyzed by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, field-emission gun scanning electron microscopy （FEG-SEM） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. XRD patterns showed that this material presents a tetragonal structure without the presence of deleterious phases. FEG-SEM and TEM micrographs revealed that the BaMoO4 microcrystals present an octahedron-like morphology with agglomerate nature and polydisperse particle size distribution. These micrographs also indicated that the microcrystals grow along the [0 01 ] direction. The observed crystallographic planes in these structures were modeled computationally and a crystal growth model was proposed in order to explain the morphological changes as a function of processing time.
