Potential of Bamboo Species Guadua trinii and Guadua angustifolia for Nanocellulose Production

Non-traditional lignocellulosic materials are a significant resource for producing high-value products, including nanocellulose. This work studied the nanocellulose obtention from chemical pulps of the two fast-growing bamboo species, Guadua trinii , and Guadua angustifolia . Chemical pulps were produced by soda-anthraquinone (S) pulping from both autohydrolysis-pretreated (H) and unpretreated bamboo chips. Autohydrolysis-pretreated (SHP) and unpretreated soda-anthraquinone (AQ) (SP) pulps were characterized by yield, Kappa number, alpha, beta, and gamma cellulose, degree of polymerization, water retention value, and crystallinity. The nanocellulose was produced by a sequential chemical oxidation treatment (2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl, TeMPO reagent) and mechanical nanofibrillation. Nanocellulose was characterized by carboxylic group content and viscosity. The results revealed that autohydrolysis pretreatment resulted in a higher hemicelluloses extraction in G. angustifolia . In contrast, the pulping yield of unpretreated samples was higher for G. trinii , and the soda-AQ pulps from this species exhibited better delignification than the autohydrolysis-pretreated pulps. The crystallinity index values of the obtained pulps were high (>80%), and the alpha-cellulose contents were similar. The viscosities of the aqueous nanocellulose suspensions were higher for the nanocellulose solutions obtained from the unpretreated soda-AQ pulps. Besides, nanocellulose from G. trinii unpretreated soda-AQ pulps had a higher rate of carboxylic groups. The results of this work are significant in assessing the potential of both bamboo species as a source of high-value products within the biorefinery framework because the viscosities of the aqueous nanocellulose suspensions depend on the size and shape of nanofibrils. It has significant importance for industrial unit operations and potential applications.

An extended state observer with adjustable bandwidth for measurement noise

In this paper,a bandwidth-adjustable extended state observer(ABeSO)is proposed for the systems with measurement *** is known that increasing the bandwidth of the observer improves the tracking speed but tolerates noise,which conflicts with observation ***,we introduce a bandwidth scaling factor such that ABeSO is formulated to a 2-degree-of-freedom *** observer gain is determined and the bandwidth scaling factor adjusts the bandwidth according to the tracking *** the tracking error decreases,the bandwidth decreases to suppress the noise,otherwise the bandwidth does not *** is proven that the error dynamics are bounded and converge in finite *** relationship between the upper bound of the estimation error and the scaling factor is *** the scaling factor is less than 1,the ABeSO has higher estimation accuracy than the linear extended state observer(LeSO).Simulations of an uncertain nonlinear system with compound disturbances show that the proposed ABeSO can successfully estimate the total disturbance in noisy *** mean error of total disturbance of ABeSO is 15.28% lower than that of LeSO.

Identification of carbonates with high positive carbon isotope excursion from the liaohe Group in the northeastern North China Craton and implications for the Lomagundi-Jatuli event

The Great Oxidation event(GOe)during the early Paleoproterozoic represents the first significant buildup in earth’s atmospheric oxygen and resulted in a series of significant changes in the earth’s surface *** them is the 2.22(or 2.33)–2.06 Ga Lomagundi-Jatuli event(LJe),which is globally,the largest magnitude and longest duration,marine carbonate positive carbon isotope excursion(δ^(13)C_(V-PDB)>10‰)*** event has attracted the attention of scholars all over the ***,except for a high positive carbon isotope excursion(δ^(13)C_(V-PDB)>10‰)recently identified from marine carbonate rocks within the Daposhan Formation in the lower Fanhe Group(or the Sanchazi Group)in the Longgang Block in the northeast North China Craton(NCC),Paleoproterozoic carbonates in the NCC are characterized by a low-amplitude positive carbon isotope excursion(δ^(13)C_(V-PDB)eature is significantly different from the high positive carbon isotope excursion characteristics of carbonates deposited during the LJe period in other *** determine whether there are large-scale and reliable sedimentary records of the LJe in the NCC and the reasons for the low positive δ^(13)C excursion of the Paleoproterozoic carbonates obtained by the previous studies,we conducted field investigations,carbon-oxygen isotopes,and whole-rock major and trace element geochemical analyses of liaohe Group carbonate rocks from the Anshan area in the northwestern margin of the Jiao-liao-Ji Belt in the northeast *** results show that the Gaojiayu Formation of the liaohe Group in the Anshan area has high positive δ^(13)C_(V-PDB) values from 8.6‰ to 12.4‰ and δ^(18)O_(V-SMOW) values of 17.9‰-27.4‰(δ^(18)O_(V-PDB) values ranging from−12.6‰to -3.4‰).This provides solid evidence for the preservation of reliable sedimentary records of the LJe in the northeastern *** of the high positive δ^(13)C excursion(>10‰)of marine carbonate rocks occurred at about 2.15 *** co

Product quality prediction based on rBF optimized by firefly algorithm

With the development of information technology,a large number of product quality data in the entire manufacturing process is accumulated,but it is not explored and used *** traditional product quality prediction models have many disadvantages,such as high complexity and low *** overcome the above problems,we propose an optimized data equalization method to pre-process dataset and design a simple but effective product quality prediction model:radial basis function model optimized by the firefly algorithm with Levy flight mechanism(rBFFALM).First,the new data equalization method is introduced to pre-process the dataset,which reduces the dimension of the data,removes redundant features,and improves the data *** the rBFFALFM is used to predict product *** expe riments conducted on real-world product quality datasets validate that the new model rBFFALFM combining with the new data pre-processing method outperforms other previous me thods on predicting product quality.

Brillouin Optical Time-Domain Analysis(BOTDA)is a widely-used distributed optical fiber sensing technology employing pulse-modulated pump waves for local information retrieval of the Brillouin gain or loss *** spatial resolution of BOTDA systems is intrinsically linked to pulse duration,so high-resolution measurements demand high electronic bandwidths inversely proportional to the *** paper introduces Brillouin expanded Time-Domain Analysis(BeTDA)as a modified BOTDA system,simultaneously achieving high spatial resolution and low detection *** two optical frequency combs(OFCs)with different frequency intervals as pump and probe,local Brillouin gain spectra are recorded by their spectral beating traces in an expanded time domain.A 2-cm-long hotspot located in a 230m single-mode fiber is successfully measured in the time domain with a detection bandwidth of less than 100 kHz using dual OFCs with tailored spectral phase,line spacing,and bandwidth.

Predictive factors and model validation of post-colon polyp surgery Helicobacter pylori infection

BACKGrOUND recently,research has linked Helicobacter pylori(***)stomach infection to colonic inflammation,mediated by toxin production,potentially impacting colorectal cancer *** To investigate the risk factors for post-colon polyp surgery,*** infection,and its correlation with pathologic *** eighty patients who underwent colon polypectomy in our hospital between January 2019 and January 2023 were retrospectively *** were then randomly split into modeling(n=56)and model validation(n=24)sets using *** modeling cohort was divided into an ***-infected group(n=37)and an ***-uninfected group(n=19).Binary logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the factors influencing the occurrence of *** infection after colon polyp surgery.A roadmap prediction model was established and ***,the correlation between the different pathological types of colon polyps and the occurrence of *** infection was analyzed after colon polyp *** Univariate results showed that age,body mass index(BMI),literacy,alcohol consumption,polyp pathology type,high-risk adenomas,and heavy diet were all influential factors in the development of *** infection after intestinal *** multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that age,BMI,and type of polyp pathology were independent predictors of the occurrence of *** infection after intestinal *** area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.969[95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.928–1.000]and 0.898(95%CI:0.773–1.000)in the modeling and validation sets,*** slope of the calibration curve of the graph was close to 1,and the goodness-of-fit test was P>0.05 in the two *** decision analysis curve showed a high rate of return in both *** results of the correlation analysis between different pathological types and the occurrence of *** infection after colon polyp surgery showed that hyperplastic
