The Internet of Things(IoT)is integral to modern infrastructure,enabling connectivity among a wide range of devices from home automation to industrial control *** the exponential increase in data generated by these interconnected devices,robust anomaly detection mechanisms are *** detection in this dynamic environment necessitates methods that can accurately distinguish between normal and anomalous behavior by learning intricate *** paper presents a novel approach utilizing generative adversarial networks(GAns)for anomaly detection in IoT ***,optimizing GAns involves tuning hyper-parameters such as learning rate,batch size,and optimization algorithms,which can be challenging due to the non-convex nature of GAn loss *** address this,we propose a five-dimensional Gray wolf optimizer(5DGWO)to optimize GAn *** 5DGWO introduces two new types of wolves:gamma(γ)for improved exploitation and convergence,and theta(θ)for enhanced exploration and escaping local *** proposed system framework comprises four key stages:1)preprocessing,2)generative model training,3)autoencoder(AE)training,and 4)predictive model *** generative models are utilized to assist the AE training,and the final predictive models(including convolutional neural network(Cnn),deep belief network(DBn),recurrent neural network(Rnn),random forest(RF),and extreme gradient boosting(XGBoost))are trained using the generated data and AE-encoded *** evaluated the system on three benchmark datasets:nSL-KDD,UnSW-nB15,and *** conducted on diverse IoT datasets show that our method outperforms existing anomaly detection strategies and significantly reduces false *** 5DGWO-GAn-CnnAE exhibits superior performance in various metrics,including accuracy,recall,precision,root mean square error(RMSE),and convergence *** proposed 5DGWO-GAn-CnnAE achieved the lowest RMSE values across the nSL-KDD,UnSW-nB15,and

Microfluidics has demonstrated high versatility in the analysis of in-flow particles and can even achieve mechanical properties measurements of biological cells by applying hydrodynamic ***,there is currently no available technique that enables the direct measurement and tracking of these hydrodynamic forces acting on a flowing *** this work,we introduce a novel method for the direct measurement of the hydrodynamic force actuating on an in-flow particle based on the analysis of the induced resonance changes of suspended microchannel resonators(SMRs).This hydrodynamic force sensitivity depends on the device used;therefore,we considered the geometry and materials to advance this dependency on the SMR resonance frequency.

AIM: To study glutamine synthetase (GS) activity and glutamate uptake in the hippocampus and frontal cortex (FC) from rats with prehepatic portal vein hypertension. METHODS: Male Wistar rats were divided into shamoperated group and a portal hypertension (pH) group with a regulated stricture of the portal vein. Animals were sacrificed by decapitation 14 d after portal vein stricture. GS activity was determined in the hippocampus and FC. Specific uptake of radiolabeled L-glutamate was studied using synaptosome-enriched fractions that were freshly prepared from both brain areas. RESULTS: We observed that the activity of GS increased in the hippocampus of pH rats, as compared to control animals, and decreased in the FC. A significant decrease in glutamate uptake was found in both brain areas, and was more marked in the hippocampus. The decrease in glutamate uptake might have been caused by a deficient transport function, signif icantly and persistent increase in this excitatory neurotransmitter activity. COnCLUSIOn: The presence of moderate ammonia blood levels may add to the toxicity of excitotoxic glutamate in the brain, which causes alterations in brain function. portal vein stricture that causes portal hypertension modif ies the normal function in some brain regions.

Inflammatory status in human hepatic cirrhosis

This review focuses on new findings about the inflammatory status involved in the development of human liver cirrhosis induced by the two main causes, hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection and chronic alcohol abuse, avoiding results obtained from animal models. When liver is faced to a persistent and/or intense local damage the maintained inflammatory response gives rise to a progressive replacement of normal hepatic tissue by non-functional fibrotic scar. The imbalance between tissue regeneration and fibrosis will determine the outcome toward health recovery or hepatic cirrhosis. In all cases progression toward liver cirrhosis is caused by a dysregulation of mechanisms that govern the balance between activation/homeostasis of the immune system. Detecting differences between the inflammatory status in HCV-induced vs alcoholinduced cirrhosis could be useful to identify specific targets for preventive and therapeutic intervention in each case. Thus, although survival of patients with alcoholic cirrhosis seems to be similar to that of patients with HCV-related cirrhosis(HCV-C), there are important differences in the altered cellular and molecular mechanisms implicated in the progression toward human liver cirrhosis. The predominant features of HCV-C are more related with those that allow viral evasion of the immune defenses, especially although not exclusively, inhibition of interferons secretion, natural killer cells activation and T cell-mediated cytotoxicity. On the contrary, the inflammatory status of alcohol-induced cirrhosis is determined by the combined effect of direct hepatotoxicity of ethanol metabolites and increases of the intestinal permeability, allowing bacteria and bacterial products translocation, into the portal circulation, mesenteric lymph nodes and peritoneal cavity. This phenomenon generates a stronger pro-inflammatory response compared withHCV-related cirrhosis. Hence, therapeutic intervention in HCV-related cirrhosis must be mainly focused to counter
