Primary Thyroid Lymphoma (PTL) is an uncommon disease, although its incidence is of 5%. Ultrasound and Fine needle Aspiration Cytology (FnAC) usually do not provide the diagnosis. Surgery is one of the treatment options because it enables histological diagnosis and can also relieve compression symptoms in patients with rapid growth cervical mass. We present 7 cases of PTL diagnosed in the last 10 years in our unit. Five were female (71.4%) and 2 were male (28.6%). The mean age was 64.2 (range: 40 - 81);4 patients (57.1%) had associated Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis (HT). One patient (14.2%) had concomitant Graves disease. 5 cases presented with compressive symptoms and cervical mass. Ultrasound was not diagnostic in any case. FnAC was diagnostic only in one patient (14.3%). Five patients underwent total thyroidectomy (71.4%). All the cases were diagnosed with lymphoma postoperatively. Two interventions consisted of left hemithyroidectomies (28.6%). no complications appeared. 5 patients (71.4%) were classified as Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue (MALT) lymphoma. We also observed 1 Follicular grade I lymphoma and 1 Burkitt case. When the extension study was done, 1 patient was at stage IIIE (14%), 2 at IIE (28.5%) and 4 at IE (57.14%). Rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisone (R-CHOP) and Iphosphamide, ethoposide and high dose Cytarabine (IVAC) were the treatment scheme when chemotherapy was used (in three cases). Two cases were treated only with total thyroidectomy, and 2 with total thyroidectomy and rituximab, and the latter was MALT. Complete Remission (CR) was achieved in all patients in the first year. All are still alive and in CR. In our experience, PTL diagnose can be challenging before surgery. Although surgery is not the gold standard for treatment, when it is done, it should be curative in MALT lymphomas confined to the thyroid.

Background:The characterization of surface and canopy fuel loadings in fire-prone pine ecosystems is critical for understanding fire behavior and anticipating the most harmful ecological effects of ***,the joint consideration of both overstory and understory strata in burn severity assessments is often *** aim of this work was to assess the role of total,overstory and understory pre-fire aboveground biomass(AGB),estimated by means of airborne Light Detection and Ranging(LiDAR)and Landsat data,as drivers of burn severity in a megafire occurred in a pine ecosystem dominated by Pinus pinaster *** the western Mediterranean ***:Total and overstory AGB were more accurately estimated(R^(2) equal to 0.72 and 0.68,respectively)from LiDAR and spectral data than understory AGB(R^(2)=0.26).Density and height percentile LiDAR metrics for several strata were found to be important predictors of *** severity responded markedly and non-linearly to total(R^(2)=0.60)and overstory(R ^(2)=0.53)AGB,whereas the relationship with understory AGB was weaker(R ^(2)=0.21).nevertheless,the overstory plus understory AGB contribution led to the highest ability to predict burn severity(RMSE=122.46 in dnBR scale),instead of the joint consideration as total AGB(RMSE=158.41).Conclusions:This study novelty evaluated the potential of pre-fire AGB,as a vegetation biophysical property derived from LiDAR,spectral and field plot inventory data,for predicting burn severity,separating the contri-bution of the fuel loads in the understory and overstory strata in Pinus pinaster *** evidenced relationships between burn severity and pre-fire AGB distribution in Pinus pinaster stands would allow the implementation of threshold criteria to support decision making in fuel treatments designed to minimize crown fire hazard.

Dear Editor,Triple-negative breast cancer(TnBC)accounts for 20%of all breast carcinomas and lacks a validated targeted therapy;thus,currently,cytotoxic chemotherapy is the treatment of choice[1].Compared with other breast cancer types,patientswith TnBCare younger,have larger tumors,a higher risk of metastasis,and a higher rate of recurrence[2].Among all the subtypes described by Lehmann et al.[3],mesenchymal-like and mesenchymal stem-like(MSL)subtypes had the lowest 5-year distant metastasis-free survival rates.

AIM: To evaluate the effectiveness in reducing social stigma of an intervention and to assess the influence of gender and ***: The program consisted in providing information and contact with users of mental health in order to reduce social stigma in the school environment. A total of 62 secondary school students(age 14-16 years) were evaluated with the Opinions on Mental Illness(OMI) questionnaire before and after the intervention. The subscales of the OMI were: authoritarianism, interpersonal etiology, benevolence, restrictiveness and negativism. The analysis was performed over the total sample, separating by gender and knowledge of someone with a mental disorder. t-test for repeated measures was used in the statistical ***: All the OMI subscales showed a significant change after the intervention(P nevolence. Women presented significant changes in the subscales of authoritarianism and restrictiveness, while men presented changes in negativism and interpersonal etiology rather than restrictiveness(P nts that knew someone with a mental disorder presented significant changes in authoritarianism, interpersonal etiology, and negativism(P nd students that do not know anyone with a mental disorder improved in restrictiveness and authoritarianism(P n all the subscales of the instrument the students improved their perception of mental disorders, reducing their levels of ***: The intervention designed to reduce social stigma was effective, especially in the area of authoritarianism. The whole sample showed improved attitudes towards mental illness, although the areas were different depending on gender and knowledge.

This study presents an investigation of the impact of the quasi-stationary voltage support provided by a voltage source converter(VSC)connected to a single point of a power *** on the directional derivative concept,an analytical method is developed to quantify the sensitivities of the AC bus voltage with respect to the VSC reactive power control *** on a real case study,it is shown that the method applies to VSC units that are part of VSC-HVDC systems,which can operate in a point-to-point or multi-terminal ***-domain simulations are performed to verify the findings from the application of the analytical method on a reduced size power system.

The vascular fusariosis is one of the main obstacles in the tomato crop production. Currently, the management of the nutrient solution is presented as a control option for fusariosis, for such reason different nutrient solutions with nitrogen (n), phosphorus (P), potassium (K) and calcium (Ca) modifications;in four saladette tomato varieties Bony Best (BB), Manapal (M), Walter (W) and FLA were evaluated in this research, in order to analyze the damage caused by Fusarium oxysporum ***. lycopersici (FOL) severity. Tomato plants were inoculated with 3 FOL breeds, establishing a completely random design with a factorial arrangement with six repetitions. Disease’s severity was evaluated 30 days after the inoculation using levels of (0 - 4) of the methodology established by marlatt and Correll (1988). Afterwards, a statistical analysis was done through the Kruskal Wallis test, in which it was observed that treatments 93 (Ca 207 mg∙L-1, R3, variety BB), 95 (207 mg∙L-1 Ca, R3, variety W), 81 (0Ca, R3, BB) showed less disease severity. In the foliar analysis, the best treatments were 22 (193 mg∙L-1 n, R3, M) for n, the greatest P content was treatment 94 (207 mg∙L-1 Ca, R3, M) for K treatment three and 93 (207 mg∙L-1 Ca, R3, variety BB) greatest Ca content.

Most public universities in Latin America and Mexico lack laboratories for measuring sediment transport or to do academic activities. The Research Center of the engineering faculty of Chiapas state university (UnACH by its acronym in Spanish) designed a portable prismatic channel for teaching and researching the sediment transportation in rivers. This paper presents the method to measure river sand transportation in a laboratory channel with a mobile bottom and presents the results of twenty-seven experiments done in the portable channel, using nine different slope inclinations and 27 flow and water speed values. The three main results are the following: 1) The construction of the channel with variable slopes, to experiment and measure sediment transportation. 2) A method developed for measuring the volume of sediment in a laboratory. 3) In a channel with a bottom slope of 0.071, a water flow of 2 l/s and a water speed of 1.77 m/s, the volume of transported sediment was 0.015 m3;in a channel with a bottom slope of 0.44, a water flow of 2 l/s and a water speed of 0.788 m/s, the volume of transported sediment was 0.006 m3;in a channel with the bottom slope of 0.024, a water flow of 2 l/s and a water speed of 0.62 m/s, the transported sediment was 0 m3.
