The.catalytic hydroge.ation of D-glucose.ove. a 3 wt% Ru/C catalyst was studie. varying the.ope.ating conditions in mild conditions range.to optimize.the.obte.tion of D-sorbitol. The.stirring spe.d, te.pe.ature. pre.sure. and initial glucose.conce.tration we.e.varie. be.we.n 250 - 700 rpm, 343 - 383 K, 0.5 - 2 MPa, and 0.033 - 0.133 M, re.pe.tive.y. To ve.ify the.abse.ce.of mass transport limitations, the.diffusion of re.ge.ts in the.gas-liquid inte.face. the.liquid-solid inte.face. and the.inte.nal diffusion in the.particle. we.e.e.aluate.. Unde. the.ope.ating conditions studie., the.re.ction rate.showe. an orde. with re.pe.t to H2 of 0.586 and with re.pe.t to glucose.of 0.406. The.kine.ic data we.e.adjuste. using 3 ge.e.al mode.s and 19 diffe.e.t sub-mode.s base. on Langmuir-Hinshe.wood-Houge.-Watson (LHHW) kine.ics.
