Twist1-induced miR-199a-3p promotes liver fibrosis by suppressing caveolin-2 and activating TGF-βpathway

The activation of hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)participates in liver fibrosis,and emerging evidences indicate that microRNAs(miRNAs)are abnormally expressed during HSC ***,the potential roles of miRNAs in liver fibrosis still remain ***,this study aimed to investigate the role of miR-199a-3p in liver fibrosis and its underlying *** found that miR-199a-3p expression was dramatically upregulated during HSC activation in vitro,and during liver fibrogenesis in CCl4-treated rats,and its liver expression was increased in the patients with *** the luciferase assay and RT-qPCR,we revealed that the expression of miR-199a-3p in HSCs was driven by the transcription factor Twist1 which could be further induced by TGF-β*** studies showed that inhibition of miR-199a-3p in both human LX2 cells and rat HSCs significantly decreased the expression of fibrotic markers,such as fibronectin and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF),whereas the forced expression of miR-199a-3p exhibited opposite effects,demonstrating the role of miR-199a-3p in promoting HSC ***,miR-199a-3p plays an important role in TGF-βsignalling pathway activation through targeting CAV2 that negatively regulates the expression of transforming growth factor-beta receptor type I(TGFβRI).Importantly,administration of antagomiR-199a-3p in the CCl4-treated mice significantly ameliorated hepatic *** conclusion,Twist1-induced miR-199a-3p mediates the activation of HSCs by suppressing CAV2 expression and subsequently increasing TGFβRI expression to promote TGF-β*** findings highlight the therapeutic potential of miR-199a-3p for hepatic fibrosis.

Thermodynamic theory of flotation for a complex multiphase solid -liquid system and high-entropy flotation

The flotation of complex solid–liquid multiphase systems involve interactions among multiple components,the core problem facing flotation ***,the combined use of multicomponent flotation reagents to improve mineral flotation has become an important issue in studies on the efficient use of refractory mineral ***,studying the flotation of complex solid–liquid systems is extremely difficult,and no systematic theory has been developed to *** addition,the physical mechanism associated with combining reagents to improve the flotation effect has not been unified,which limits the development of flotation theory and the progress of flotation *** this study,we applied theoretical thermodynamics to a solid–liquid flotation system and used changes in the entropy and Gibbs free energy of the reagents adsorbed on the mineral surface to establish thermodynamic equilibrium equations that de-scribe interactions among various material components while also introducing adsorption equilibrium constants for the flotation reagents adsorbed on the mineral *** homogenization effect on the mineral surface in pulp solution was determined using the chemical potentials of the material components of the various mineral surfaces required to maintain *** flotation effect can be improved through synergy among multicomponent flotation reagents;its physical essence is the thermodynamic law that as the number of compon-ents of flotation reagents on the mineral surface increases,the surface adsorption entropy change increases,and the Gibbs free energy change of adsorption *** to the results obtained using flotation thermodynamics theory,we established high-entropy flotation theory and a technical method in which increasing the types of flotation reagents adsorbed on the mineral surface,increasing the adsorption entropy change of the flotation reagents,decreasing the Gibbs free energy change,and improving the adsorption efficiency

Observation of gapless corner modes of photonic crystal slabs in synthetic translation dimensions

Second-order topological photonic crystals support localized corner modes that deviate from the conventional bulk-edge ***,the frequency shift of corner modes spanning the photonic band gap has not been experimentally ***,we observe the gapless corner modes of photonic crystal slabs within a parameter space by considering translation as an additional synthetic *** corner modes,protected by topological pumping in synthetic translation dimensions,are found to exist independently of the specific corner *** gapless corner modes are experimentally imaged via the near-field scanning measurement and validated numerically by full-wave *** propose a topological rainbow with gradient translation,demonstrating the ability to extract and separate specific frequency components of light into different spatial *** work contributes to the advancement of topological photonics and provides valuable insights into the exploration of gapless corner modes in synthetic dimensions.

Isotopic insights on quantitative assessments of interaction of eco-hydrological processes in multi-scale karst watersheds

The dynamics of hydrological processes and the storage mechanisms of karst water resources are the most important issues in karst *** impact of environmental changes on water quantity,and the evaluation and quantification of eco-hydrological processes remain poorly *** this study,high-frequency continuous monitoring in multi-scale karst watersheds in Southwest China combined the approaches of water isotopes and the hybrid single-particle lagrangian integrated trajectory(HYSPLIT)model to identify the recharge mechanisms between atmospheric vapor,rainfall,surface water,and groundwater,and to reveal the interaction of eco-hydrological *** dominant moisture sources in Puding(PD)County were the Indian Ocean(43-69%)and local moisture(24-33%).Theδ^(18)O and deuterium excess(d-excess)values showed a positive correlation indicating that secondary or sub-cloud evaporation was prominent in the wet *** water line-conditioned excess(lc-excess)indicated that karst water interacted with recent precipitation,groundwater,and evaporation across *** to its specific hydrogeological structure,surface water and rainwater have a higher contribution rate to groundwater *** Chenqi stream replenished the Houzhai River mainly in the form of groundwater,with percentages ranging from 38.1 to 93.5%in the wet season,and 47.8-80.1%in the dry *** the Houzhai outlet,surface water and groundwater interconverted frequently with a percentage of 45.6-49.1%.We believe this is the first systematic study to quantify the supply relationship between water vapor transport,rainfall,surface water and groundwater in the Chinese karst zone,making a significant move forward in the field of karst hydrological processes and improving the efficiency of water resource evaluation and management.

A combined Liouville integrable hierarchy associated with a fourth-order matrix spectral problem

This paper aims to propose a fourth-order matrix spectral problem involving four potentials and generate an associated Liouville integrable hierarchy via the zero curvature formulation. A bi-Hamiltonian formulation is furnished by applying the trace identity and a recursion operator is explicitly worked out, which exhibits the Liouville integrability of each model in the resulting hierarchy. Two specific examples, consisting of novel generalized combined nonlinear Schr?dinger equations and modified Korteweg–de Vries equations, are given.

BACKGROUND:The effectiveness of standard triple therapy(STT)for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori(HP)has decreased *** therapy(SQT)is a new regimen proposed to address this ***:To compare the efficacy of SQT versus STT for HP ***:We performed a systematic review of the literature and pooled-data *** eradication rates were based on an intention-to-treat(ITT)and per-protocol(PP)*** risk ratios(RR)of eradication rate were pooled,with a 95%***:A total of 33 trials met the inclusion *** ITT and PP eradication rates were 80.4%and 88.7%in SQT,and 74.9%and 78.6%in STT,*** RR for eradication of HP with SQT compared with STT was 1.14(95%CI:1.09-1.18)for ITT analysis and 1.14(95%CI:1.10-1.19)for PP *** was significant heterogeneity between trial results(I=72%,P<0.0001).Subgroup analyses showed that SQT was superior to both 7-day and 10-day STT,but was not significantly better than 14-day *** were no significant differences between groups in terms of the risk of adverse ***:SQT is more efficacious than STT(7-day and 10-day)in the eradication of HP,but the pooled rate seemed *** research is needed to develop more effective therapeutic approaches,regional monitoring of resistance rates should performed to help guide treatment.

Geochemical identification of a source rock affected by migrated hydrocarbons and its geological significance:Fengcheng Formation,southern Mahu Sag,Junggar Basin,NW China

The Fengcheng Formation is a crucial source rock and the primary reservoir for oil accumulation in the Mahu *** oils are distributed throughout the Fengcheng Formation,ranging from the edge to the interior of the sag in the southern Mahu *** crude oils originate from in-situ source rocks in shallowly buried areas and the inner deep *** migration,the crude oil from the inner deep sag affects the source rocks close to carrier beds,leading to changes in the organic geochemical characteristics of the source *** changes might alter source rock evaluations and oil-source *** on data such as total organic carbon(TOC),Rock-Eval pyrolysis of source rocks,and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)of the saturated fraction,and considering the geological characteristics of the study area,we define the identification characteristics of source rock affected by migrated hydrocarbons and establish the various patterns of influence that migrated hydrocarbons have on the source rock of the Fengcheng Formation in the southern Mahu *** source rocks of the Fengcheng Formation are mostly fair to good,containing mainly Type II organic matter and being thermally mature enough to generate *** rocks affected by migrated hydrocarbons exhibit relatively high hydrocarbon contents(S1/TOC>110 mg HC/g TOC,Extract/TOC>30%,HC:hydrocarbon),relatively low Rock-Eval Tmax values,and relatively high tricyclic terpane contents with a descending and mountain-shaped ***,biomarker composition parameters indicate a higher thermal maturity than in-situ source *** a comparison of the extract biomarker fingerprints of adjacent reservoirs and mudstones in different boreholes,three types of influence patterns of migrated hydrocarbons are identified:the edge-influence of thin sandstone-thick mudstone,the mixed-influence of sandstone-mudstone interbedded,and the full-influence of thick sandstone-thin *** finding reminds

Effect of BaO and MgO on structure and properties of aluminate slag with various CaO/Al_(2)0_(3)ratios

To provide theoretical guidance for performance stability control of low-reactive mold fluxes,the effects of BaO and MgO on the structure and properties of aluminate slag with various CaO/Al_(2)0_(3)(C/A)ratios were investigated using the Fourier transform infrared spectrometer,Raman spectroscope,hemispherical melting point instrument,rotational viscometer and X-ray *** results indicated that with BaO and MgO addition,the structure polymerization was first weakened and then enhanced at C/A of 1.1,and the transition contents corresponded to 8 wt.%BaO and 2 wt.%MgO,respectively,while the structure polymerization decreased continuously at C/A of *** the viscosity change was well consistent with the structure evolution,the polymerization degree played a more prominent role in the slag viscosity than superheat degree when the melting temperature difference was within 40℃.The break temperature decreased initially and then increased with augment of BaO and MgO at C/A of 1.1,while it manifested a decrease trend with BaO addition,and it decreased obviously but then turned to increase with MgO increment at C/A of *** crystallization phase and crystallization ratio kept stable with BaO increment,while the crystallization ratio rose greatly with MgO promoting LiAlO_(2)precipitation at C/A of *** crystal types of all experimental slags were mainly Ca_(12)Al_(14)O_(33)and CaF_(2)at C/A of 1.3,and the precipitation of crystalline phase BaAl2O4 demonstrated a rising trend,while that of Ca_(12)Al_(14)O_(33)gradually declined with BaO augment.
