BIBR1532 inhibits proliferation and metastasis of esophageal squamous cancer cells by inducing telomere dysregulation

The E3 ubiquitin ligase,carboxyl terminus of heat shock protein 70(Hsp70)interacting protein(CHIP),also functions as a co-chaperone and plays a crucial role in the protein quality control *** this study,we aimed to investigate the neuroprotective effect of overexpressed CHIP on Alzheimer’s *** used an adeno-associated virus vector that can cross the blood-brain barrier to mediate CHIP overexpression in APP/PS1 mouse *** overexpression significantly ameliorated the performance of APP/PS1 mice in the Morris water maze and nest building tests,reduced amyloid-βplaques,and decreased the expression of both amyloid-βand phosphorylated *** also alleviated the concentration of microglia and astrocytes around *** APP/PS1 mice of a younger age,CHIP overexpression promoted an increase in ADAM10 expression and inhibitedβ-site APP cleaving enzyme 1,insulin degrading enzyme,and neprilysin *** of HSP70 and HSP40,which have functional relevance to CHIP,were also *** nuclei transcriptome sequencing in the hippocampus of CHIP overexpressed mice showed that the lysosomal pathway and oligodendrocyte-related biological processes were up-regulated,which may also reflect a potential mechanism for the neuroprotective effect of *** research shows that CHIP effectively reduces the behavior and pathological manifestations of APP/PS1 ***,overexpression of CHIP could be a beneficial approach for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

Shape optimisation of basin insulator for DC gas insulated switchgear/gas insulated transmission lines based on artificial bee colony algorithm

The surface charge accumulation on the basin insulator is a particular problem in high-voltage direct current(HVDC)gas insulated switchgears(GIS)and gas insulated trans-mission lines(GIL),which restricts the development and application of extra/ultra high-voltage(EHV/UHV)*** surface charge distribution and anti-flashover performance are closely related to the insulator *** obtain the optimal basin insulator,a shape optimisation model based on artificial bee colony algorithm was established,and the minimisation objective functions based on capacitive(initial)electric field distribution and resistive(steady-state)electric field distribution were respectively *** optimisation results of the two objective functions were calculated,and the electric field and charge distribution on the surface of the insulator before and after optimisation were evaluated and compared using the simulation *** results indicated that the optimisation based on the capacitive electric field can significantly inhibit the surface charge accumulation,and the optimised insulator can significantly reduce the surface normal electric field and make the distribution of the tangential electric field more uniform,and the maximum tangential electric field can be reduced by 10%;the optimisation based on resistive electric field can achieve similar results,but requires more computational *** on the results,the‘anti-charge’basin insulator structure suitable for the DC field was given.

Simulation and experimental improvement on a small-scale Stirling thermo-acoustic engine

Compared with the traditional engines, the thermo-acoustic engines are relatively new and can act as the linear compressors for refrigerators. Many institutes have shown great interest in this kind of machine for its absence of moving mechanical part. In this paper, the influence of the dimensions of the main parts of the small- scale Stifling thermo-acoustic engine was numerically simulated using a computer code called DeltaEC. The resonator and the resonator cavity were found to be the most convenient and effective in improving the perfor- mance of the engine. Based on the numerical simulation, a small-scale Stifling thermo-acoustic engine were constructed and experimentally investigated. Currently, with a resonator length of only 1 m, the working frequency of the engine was decreased to 90 Hz and the onset temperature difference was decreased to 198.2 K.

Evaluation Model and Method of Margin in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects for Complex Systems

Margin is an important index in the control of Electromagnetic environmental effects(E3) and Electromagnetic compatibility(EMC) design for *** to define and verify the E3 margins of complex systems such as ships and airplanes is a difficult problem.A new method of system-level E3 margin evaluation is proposed. Based on the theory of fault tree, the evaluation model of system-level margin is *** complex system function is transformed into the equipment and subsystem that affect the function, and the relationship between margin of system-level and equipment is established. The change from margin of equipment to system-level margin is realized. According to the action process of Electromagnetic environment(EME), the verification and evaluation methods of EME domain, response domain and effect domain are put forward. The margin calculation formula of EME domain and typical electromagnetic energy coupling response are deduced. The problem of margin evaluation for equipment under different input parameters is solved. A typical application example is given. The verification test scheme is designed. The methods of electromagnetic energy radiation and injection are adopted. The system-level margin is analyzed by the data obtained from the effective test verification. The results show that the model and method are reasonable and feasible.

Synchronization of noise-perturbed optical systems with multiple time delays

In this paper, complete synchronization and generalized synchronization between two unidirectionally coupled optical systems with multiple time delays and noise perturbation are investigated. Sufficient conditions for both complete synchronization and generalized synchronization are rigorously established. Numerical simulations fully support the theoretical results. The effect of parameter mismatch on the quality of synchronization is also explored.

Climatology of the Meteorological Factors Associated with Haze Events over Northern China and Their Potential Response to the Quasi-Biannual Oscillation

An upswing in haze weather during autumn and winter has been observed over North and Northeast China in re- cent years, imposing adverse impacts upon local socioeconomic development and human health. However, such an increase in the occurrence of haze events and its association with natural climate variability and climate change are not well understood. To investigate the climatology of the meteorological factors associated with haze events and their natural variability, this study uses a meteorological pollution index called PLAM （Parameter Linking Air-qual- ity to Meteorological conditions） and ERA-Interim reanalysis data. The results suggest that high PLAM values tend to occur over southern parts of northem China, implying the weather conditions over this area are favorable for the occurrence of haze weather. For the period 1979-2014, the regional mean PLAM shows an overall increase across Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province, and parts of Shanxi Province. Also, a periodicity of 28-34 months is found in the temporal variation of PLAM, which implies a potential association of PLAM with the stratospheric Quasi-Bian- nual Oscillation （QBO）. By using the QBO index during the autumn and winter seasons in the preceding year, an in- crease in PLAM is found for the westerly phases of the QBO, relative to the easterly phases. An upper-tropospheric warming is also found in the westerly phases, which can induce a stable stratification that favors the increase in PLAM across the midlatitudes. The modulations of large-scale environmental factors, including moist static stability, vertical velocity, and temperattu＇e advection, also act to enhance PLAM in the westerly phases. However, the baro- clinic term of moist potential vorticity at 700 hPa tends to decrease over the south, and an increase in low-level as- cent is found over the north. These factors can reduce PLAM and possibly limit the statistical significance of the in- creased PLAM in the westerly phases of the QBO.

Synergistic Action between Jasmonic Acid and Nitric Oxide in Inducing Matrine Accumulation of Sophora flavescens Suspension Cells

Secondary metabolites not only play important ecological roles in plants but also are important pharmaceutical and source compounds for derivative synthesis. Production of plant secondary metabolites is believed to be controlled by the endogenous signal network of plants. However, the molecular basis is still largely unknown. Here we show that matrine production of Sophora flavescens Ait. cells treated with low levels of jasmonic acid （JA） and nitric oxide （NO） is significantly increased although treatment with low concentrations of JA or NO alone has no effects on matrine production, showing that JA and NO may act synergistically in triggering matrine production. Moreover, treatment with NO triggers lipoxygenase （LOX） activity and enhances JA levels of the cells, showing that NO may activate the endogenous JA biosynthesis of S. flavescens cells. External application of JA induces nitric oxide synthase-like activities and stimulates NO generation of S. flavescens cells, which suggests that JA may trigger NO generation of the cells. Thus, the results reveal a mutually amplifying reaction between JA and NO in S. flavescens cells. Furthermore, JA and NO inhibitors suppress not only the mutually amplifying reaction between JA and NO but also the synergistic effects of NO and JA on matrine production. Therefore, the data demonstrate that the synergistic action of JA and NO in inducing matrine production might be due to the mutually amplifying reaction between JA and NO in the cells.
