TIDAL EFFECTS ON GROUNDWATER DYNAMICS IN COASTAL AQUI-FER UNDER DIFFERENT BEACH SLOPES

The tide induced groundwater fluctuation and the seawater intrusion have important effects on hydrogeology and ecology of coastal *** previous studies,there were few quantitative evaluations of the joint effects of the beach slope and the tide fluctuation on the groundwater *** this article,a numerical model is built by using the software FEFLOW with consideration of seawater intrusion,tide effects,density dependent flow and beach sloping *** simulation results are validated by laboratory experimental data in *** numerical scenarios are designed in a practical scale with different beach *** show that the groundwater fluctuation decays exponentially with the distance to the beach,i.e.,,and our simulation further shows that the beach slope influence can be expressed in the form of a logarithm *** for the same location,the amplitude increases logarithmically with the beach angle in the form,where and are related with the horizontal distance（）in the form of a logarithm *** beach slope has no influence on the phase lag,although the latter increases regularly with the distance from the *** beach slope effect on the seawater intrusion is investigated through the quantitative relationship among the relative intrusion length（）,the relative enhancement of the tide induced seawater intrusion（）and the beach angle（）.It is shown that the tide effects on a milder beach is much greater than on a vertical one,and both λ and κ can be expressed in logarithm functions *** tidal effect on the flow field in the transition zone for a particular mild beach is also studied,with results showing that the tide induced fluctuation of is similar to the groundwater table fluctuation while shows a distinct variation along both directions.

A field-based service management and discovery method in multiple clouds context

In diverse and self-governed multiple clouds context, the service management and discovery are greatly challenged by the dynamic and evolving features of services. How to manage the features of cloud services and support accurate and efficient service discovery has becomean open problem in the area of cloud computing. This paper proposes a field model of multiple cloud services and corresponding service discovery method to address the issue. Different from existing researches, our approach is inspired by Bohr atom model. We use the abstraction of energy level and jumping mechanism to describe services status and variations, and thereby to support the service demarcation and discovery. The contributions of this paper are threefold. First, we propose the abstraction of service energy level to represent the status of services, and service jumping mechanism to investigate the dynamic and evolving features as the variations and re-demarcation of cloud services according to their energy levels. Second, we present user acceptable service region to describe the services satisfying users' requests and corresponding service discovery method, which can significantly decrease services search scope and improve the speed and precision of service discovery. Third, a series of algorithms are designed to implement the generation of field model, user acceptable service regions, service jumping mechanism, and user-oriented service discovery. We have conducted an extensive experiments on QWS dataset to validate and evaluate our proposed models and algorithms. The results show that field model can well support the representation of dynamic and evolving aspects of services in multiple clouds context and the algorithms can improve the accuracy and efficiency of service discovery.

Method of moving target detection based on sub-image cancellation for single-antenna airborne synthetic aperture radar

The method of moving target detection based on subimage cancellation for single-antenna airborne SAR is presented. First the subimage is obtained through frequency processing is pointed out. The imaging difference of a stationary objects and moving object in the subimage based on the frequency division is analyzed from the fundamental principle. Then the developed method combines the shear averaging algorithm to focus on the moving target in the subimage, after the clutter suppression and the focusing position in each subimage is obtained. Next the observation model and the relative movement of the moving targets between the subimages estimate the moving targets. The theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate that the method is effective and can not only detect the moving targets, but also estimate their motion parameters precisely.

ON ENTIRE SOLUTIONS OF SOME TYPE OF NONLINEAR DIFFERENCE EQUATIONS

In this article, the existence of finite order entire solutions of nonlinear difference equations fn＋ Pd（z, f） = p1 eα1 z＋ p2 eα2 z are studied, where n ≥ 2 is an integer, Pd（z, f） is a difference polynomial in f of degree d（≤ n-2）, p1, p2 are small meromorphic functions of ez, and α1, α2 are nonzero constants. Some necessary conditions are given to guarantee that the above equation has an entire solution of finite order. As its applications, we also find some type of nonlinear difference equations having no finite order entire solutions.

Relationship Between Activity Interaction Parameters in Fe-C System and Temperature

Carbon solubility in Fe-Mn melts （XFe =0. 102 3-0. 789 9, XMn =0. 055 1-0. 638 0） was measured experimentally at various temperatures. Using Gibbs-Duhem equation, in combination with the experimental results in this work, quoting experimental data reported in references, and by strict thermodynamic derivation and calculation, the relation equations between the activity interaction parameters in Fe-C system and temperature were obtained. The calculation equation of lnyFe. in Fe-C system was also obtained. The calculated results show that these relation equations can be used to calculate the activity coefficients of carbon and iron in Fe-C system and can satisfy the necessary condition to satisfy Gibbs-Duhem equation and the necessary condition to satisfy the stability condition of system at high carbon content. The calculation formula for lnTc in Fe-Mn-C system was also obtained.

Cavitation commonly induces performance deterioration and system vibration in many engineering *** paper aims to investigate the effects of air injection on cavitation evolution,pressure pulsation and vibration in a centrifugal pump with *** this paper,the high-speed camera is used to capture the gas flow pattern and cavitation evolution process in the *** impacts of air injection on the inlet pressure pulsation and vibration are also *** results show that the cavitation development in the inducer undergoes four patterns:incipient cavitation,sheet cavitation,cloud cavitation and super *** the development of cavitation,the main frequency of the pressure pulsation shifts to lower frequencies,and the amplitude of the vibration *** addition,air injection promotes the incipient cavitation but delays the cavitation development.A small amount of air can effectively decrease amplitudes of pressure pulsation and *** as the air content increases,the fluctuations and amplitudes of pressure pulsation and vibration increase.

Impact and mechanism of bisphosphonate depressant 1-hydroxypropane-1,1-diphosphonic acid on flotation decalcification of dolomite-rich magnesite ore

Given the depletion of high-quality magnesite deposits and the rising demand for high-end magnesium materials,the separation and utilization of high-calcium magnesite ores have become ***,the similar surface properties and solubility of semi-soluble salt-type minerals,pose significant challenges for the utilization of dolomite-rich magnesite *** this study,1-hydroxypropane-1,1-di phosphonic acid(HPDP)was identified for the first time as a high-performance depressant for *** tests,including contact angle measurements,ζ potential analysis,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and atomic force microscopy,were conducted to elucidate the interfacial interaction mechanisms of HPDP on the surfaces of the two minerals at different ***,molecular modeling calculations were used to detail the spatial matching relationship between HPDP and the crystal faces of the two *** was emphasized that HPDP specifically adsorbed onto the dolomite surface by forming calcium phosphonate,ensuring that the dolomite surface remained hydrophilic and ***,it was found that the adsorption strength of HPDP on the mineral surfaces depended on the activity of the metal sites and their spatial *** findings provide a theoretical foundation for the molecular design of flotation reagents for high-calcium magnesite ores.

Impacts of multi-foulings on salinity gradient energy conversion process in negatively charged conical nanochannels

Membrane fouling inevitably occurs during nanofluidic reverse ***,the impact of multi-fouling on the energy conversion performance of negatively charged conical nanochannels under asymmetrical configurations is systematically *** results reveal that in Configuration I,where a high-concentration solution is applied at the tip side,at small concentration ratios,multiple foulings reduce the electric *** Configuration II,where a low-concentration solution is applied at the tip side,multiple foulings near the base side contribute to the electric *** fouling that formed near the lowconcentration entrance diminished the electric power and energy conversion ***-fouling lowered the electrical power consumption by 69.27%and 99.94%in Configurations I and II,*** Configuration I,the electric power first increased with increasing fouling surface charge density,reached its maximum value,and thereafter *** Configuration II,the electric power first decreased with increasing fouling surface charge density,reached its minimum value,and thereafter *** negative or positive charge densities of fouling contribute to the electric power and energy conversion efficiency.
