Cold plasma at room temperature and pressure is an emerging and novel tool for the inactivation of cell derived from its ionic energy,which is capable of breaking bonds such as carbon-carbon,carbon-hydrogen,carbon-oxygen,among others,these being the ones that support the biological structure of *** work tries to create its own infrastructure that includes a high voltage source,an infrared trigger which reduces the effect of the ozone created,an ionic reactor in which the plasma acts at atmospheric temperature and pressure,and a magnetic field that allow aligning the plasma to the combined processes that are carried out.

We report on the design and first results from experiments looking at the formation of radiative shocks on the ShenguangII(SG-II)laser at the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics in ***-heating of a two-layer CH/CH–Br foil drives a∼40 km/s shock inside a gas cell filled with argon at an initial pressure of 1 *** use of gas-cell targets with large(several millimetres)lateral and axial extent allows the shock to propagate freely without any wall interactions,and permits a large field of view to image single and colliding counter-propagating shocks with time-resolved,pointprojection X-ray backlighting(∼20µm source size,4.3 keV photon energy).Single shocks were imaged up to 100 ns after the onset of the laser drive,allowing to probe the growth of spatial nonuniformities in the shock *** results are compared with experiments looking at counter-propagating shocks,showing a symmetric drive that leads to a collision and stagnation from∼40 ns *** present a preliminary comparison with numerical simulations with the radiation hydrodynamics code ARWEN,which provides expected plasma parameters for the design of future experiments in this facility.

Nutraceutic therapies such as berberine, bitter melon,Gymnema sylvestre, Irvingia gabonensis, resveratrol and ursolic acid have been shown to help control metabolic syndrome(MetS). The effect of berberine on glucose and lipid metabolism, hypertension, obesity and MetS has been evaluated in animal models and humans. Most clinical trials involving bitter melon have been conducted to evaluate its effect on glucose metabolism; nevertheless, some studies have reported favorable effects on lipids and blood pressure although there is little information about its effect on body weight. Gymnema sylvestre helps to decrease body weight and blood sugar levels; however, there is limited information on dyslipidemia and hypertension. Clinical trials of Irvingia gabonensis have shown important effects decreasing glucose and cholesterol concentrations as well decreasing body weight. Resveratrol acts through different mechanisms to decrease blood pressure, lipids, glucose and weight, showing its effects on the population with Met S. Finally, there is evidence of positive effects with ursolic acid in in vitro and in vivo studies on glucose and lipid metabolism and on body weight and visceral fat. Therefore, a review of the beneficial effects and limitations of the above-mentioned nutraceutic therapies is presented.

The nanocomposite based on carbon nanotubes/aluminum (CNT/Al) was one-step prepared by the DC arc discharge method under an argon/acetone mixed atmosphere. Synthesis was performed by arc plasma on a pure graphite rod, filled by aluminum powder as an anode and aluminum plate as a cathode. Discharge conditions of 85 A and 20 V were used at a pressure range of 375 to 750 Torr. The CNT/Al was characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy; Transmission Electron Microscopy; Laser Diffraction Particle Size Analysis; X-Ray Diffraction; Raman Spectroscopy; Thermogravimetric Analysis; and, its reinforcement effect of the CNTs on the aluminum matrix was measured by Vickers microhardness test. This nanocomposite shows agglomerates of multiwalled carbon nanotubes filled with Al4C3 and blended with aluminum particles; moreover, in the nanocomposites was found a hardness increase of 40% for nanocomposites with 1.0 wt.% of CNT/Al.

Background:With the rising global prevalence of fatty liver disease related to metabolic dysfunction,the association of this common liver condition with chronic kidney disease(CKD)has become increasingly *** 2020,the more inclusive term metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)was proposed to replace the term non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).The observed association between MAFLD and CKD and our understanding that CKD can be a consequence of underlying metabolic dysfunction support the notion that individuals with MAFLD are at higher risk of having and developing CKD compared with those without ***,to date,there is no appropriate guidance on CKD in individuals with ***,there has been little attention paid to the link between MAFLD and CKD in the Nephrology *** and Results:Using a Delphi-based approach,a multidisciplinary panel of 50 international experts from 26 countries reached a consensus on some of the open research questions regarding the link between MAFLD and ***:This Delphi-based consensus statement provided guidance on the epidemiology,mechanisms,management and treatment of MAFLD and CKD,as well as the relationship between the severity of MAFLD and risk of CKD,which establish a framework for the early prevention and management of these two common and interconnected diseases.

The work presents technologies of materials,energy and water management that can be used for sustainable buildings,reducing costs and environmental *** aim was to encourage the reduction of energy consumption,adequate water management and more sustainable material choices in new or existing *** this,a diagnosis of existing technologies and alternatives was carried out in the first stage of the *** second stage consisted of analyzing among the technologies and alternatives diagnosed from the methodology which can be applied in a fictitious case study of housing,its implementation and maintenance and viability analyzing,finally,environmental indicators,social and *** results showed that the best evaluated technologies/alternatives were in Energy:ventilation and natural light;in Water Management:double-action sanitary basin,flow restrictors,aerators with constant flow,and minicistern systems;and in Materials:bamboo,wood,soil-cement brick,earth,steel frame and wood frame,aggregate with ash from rice husks,aggregate with ash from sugarcane bagasse,glass,phase change materials,aggregate with residues of construction and demolition,Portland cement and cement with blast furnace slag;which can be used in the civil construction sector,and provide socio-environmental and economic benefits,encouraging new studies and its use for public/private buildings,aid in the elaboration of public policies to reduce costs and improve the quality of buildings.
