A computational fluid dynamics solver based on homogeneous cavitation model is employed to compute the two-phase cavitating *** model treats the two-phase regime as the homogeneous mixture of liquid and vapour which are locally assumed to be under both kinetic and thermodynamic *** our focus is on pressure wave formation,propagation and its impact on cavitation bubble,the compressibility effects of liquid water have to be accounted for and hence the flow is considered to be *** cavitating flow disturbed by the introduced pressure wave is simulated to investigate the unsteady features of cavitation due to the external *** is observed that the cavity becomes unstable,locally experiencing deformation or collapse,which depends on the shock wave intensity and freestream flow speed.

Ordered intermetallics possess attractive high-temperature properties; however, low ductility and brittle fracture limit their use as engineering materials in many cases. This paper provides a comprehensive review on the recent progress in the development of ductile ordered intermetallics and summarizes the strategies used to improve the tensile ductility of ordered intermetallics, including control of ordered crystal structures,engineering grain-boundary structure and chemistry, eliminating environmental embrittlement, microstructure optimization, control of phase stability, and promoting transformation-/twining-induced plasticity. The basic ideas and related mechanisms underlying these ductilizing strategies are discussed. In addition, a brief mention of the current use of intermetallic alloys for structural and corrosion applications is made.

Pd77cu6Si17(PcS) thin film metallic glasses(TFMGs) with high glass forming ability and hardness were selected as a hard coating for improving the surface hardness of AZ31 magnesium alloy. both microindentation and nanoindentation tests were conducted on specimens with various PcS film thicknesses from 30 to 2000 nm. The apparent hardness and the relative indentation depth(β) were integrated using a quantitative model. The interaction parameters involved and relative hardness values were extracted from iterative calculations. According to the results, surface hardness can be enhanced greatly by PcS TFMGs in the shallow region, followed by gradual decrease with increasing β ratio. In addition, specimens with thinner coatings(e.g., 200nm) showed greater substrate-film interaction and those with thick coatings(e.g., 2000nm) became prone to film cracking. The optimum TFMG coating thickness in this study was estimated to be around 200 nm.

The strength-ductility trade-offhas been a longstanding dilemma in metallic *** we report an innovative approach to achieve a high strength-ductility synergy via dual precipitation of sheared and bypassed precipitates.(Ni_(2) co_(2) Fecr)_(96-x) Al_(4) Nb_(x)(at.%)alloys strengthened by nanoscale L12 particles and Laves precipitates were selected as a model for this study,and their precipitate microstructures and mechanical properties were thoroughly *** dual-precipitation-strengthened alloys exhibit a yield strength of more than 1400 MPa,an ultimate tensile strength of over 1800 MPa,and a uniform elon-gation of 18%,thus achieving a high strength-ductility *** analysis reveals that the nanoscale L1_(2) precipitates contribute to the strength via the particle shearing mechanism,whereas the Laves phase provides the strengthening through the Orowan bypass *** study of deformation microstruc-tures shows that the L1_(2) precipitates are sheared by stacking faults,which facilitates long-range disloca-tion gliding through the *** a result,deformation induces the formation of hierarchical stacking fault networks and immobile Lomer-cottrell locks,which effectively enhance the work hardening ca-pability and plastic stability,thereby resulting in a high ductility at high strength *** are piled-up against the interface between the Laves precipitates and matrix,which increases the work hardening capability at the early stages of plastic deformation but causes stress *** dual precipitation strategy may be useful for many other alloys for achieving superior mechanical properties for technological applications.

Lignocellulosic biomass is one of the viable solutions to alleviate the global warming. However, the limited utilization of biomass majorly focused on cellulose and hemicellulose restricts the economic and environmental feasibilities. To cope with this issue, we proposed an integrated process of co-producing 1,6-hexanediol（1,6-HDO） with tetrahydrofuran and adipic acid from biomass, referred to as Strategy A. To compare the impacts of lignin upgrading and feedstock, Strategy b, which co-produces tetrahydrofuran alone, and Strategy c, which is the traditional route to produce 1,6-HDO from fossil fuels, were used. Heat networks are also designed to reduce operating costs and indirect carbon emissions due to energy consumption, saving 87% and 83% of the heat and cooling requirements, respectively, in Strategy A. The market competitiveness of Strategy A was evaluated by determining the minimum selling price through techno-economic analysis, and sustainability was thoroughly investigated by quantifying the environmental impacts through both midpoint and endpoint life-cycle assessments（LcAs）.Strategy A was found to be the most favorable both economically（USRDScHARDOLLAR3,402/ton） and environmentally（-26.9 kg cO2eq.）. This indicates that lignin valorization is not only economically but also environmentally preferred. Finally, changes in economic and environmental feasibilities depending on economic, process, and environmental parameters were investigated using sensitivity and uncertainty analyses. The results of these analyses provide valuable insight into bio-based chemical production.

This appears to be important for the morphological development in not only the basin in which the interference takes place,but also in the adjacent *** paper describes theoretical analyses and numerical modelling aimed at improving the insights into the location of the tidal watersheds,their movements,and the impact of the movements of tidal watersheds on the morphological development of a multi-basin system like the Wadden Sea.
