Portal gas embolism is a rare entity and considered a sign of poor prognosis in abdominal diseases, its mortality rate is about 75%. This case report is about a 61-year old patient with portal gas embolism and acute liver ischemia, evolving to death within 24 hours. Some cases reported in the literature demonstrate the severity of this dramatic condition. It is necessary to have a higher level of suspicion in the vascular structures of the abdomen in order to allow a timely treatment.

Lactose breath test (LBT) is considered the gold standard for the diagnosis of lactose malabsorption. The test is considered positive for a peak of hydrogen (H2) ≥ 20 parts per million (ppm) above the baseline. Some patients (pts) showed a rapid peak between 30 and 90 minutes after lactose ingestion. The aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive value of an early peak during a LBT and an accelerated oro-cecal transit time (OCTT). We retrospectively analyzed all pts who referred to our Gastroenterology unit for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, from January to September 2012, who performed LBT, glucose and lactulose breath test. We consider a positive LBT for a peak of H2 > 20 ppm, a positive GHBT for a peak >12 ppm and we considered a normal OCCT a peak of H2 ≥ 10 ppm between 75 ± 105 min after lactulose load. The correlation between LBT and OCTT was evaluated by Pearson score. 93 pts (65 F/28 M mean age 47 ± 6 years) with a positive LBT, without small intestinal bacterial overgrowth were analyzed: 46 pts (32 F/14 M;mean age 48 ± 6 years) with an early peak (2 (≥20 ppm) were enrolled as case, and 47 pts matched for sex and age with a peak of H2 after 90 min were enrolled as controls. 72% (33/46) of the group with an early peak showed an accelerated, 17% (8/46) a normal and 11% (5/46) a delayed OCTT. Meanwhile, in control group 40.4% (19/47) showed a normal, 57.5% (27/47) a delayed and just 1 pts an accelerated OCTT. The specificity and sensibility of LBT for an accelerated OCTT were 97.9% and 71.7% respectively. The positive predictive value of LBT for an accelerated OCTT is 97.1%;the negative predictive value is 78%. There is a significant correlation between LBT and OCTT (p The presence of an early peak of H2 between 30 and 90 min after the ingestion of 25 gr of lactose could predict the presence of an accelerated OCTT in 97% of pts. If confirmed by further study, in this subset of pts, lactulose breath test for evaluating OCTT could be avoided.

Miniaturization and compact printed planar monopole antenna coplanar Waveguide CPW/microstrip feed line three half semi-circular （3HSC） with similar ground plane is presented, design, simulation, fabrication and tested experimentally for Ultra-Wideband （UWB） eommnnication application especially for WLAN and HIPERLAN/2 WLAN. The antenna design has a far from the traditional antennas such as a rectangular, circular, elliptical etc. Generating original planar antenna has been investigated to be an effect the combine geometry shapes of the radiation element part with the same geometry shapes of the slots in the ground plane. The simulation and measuring results have a good agreement, large bandwidth and radiation pattern behavior an omni-directional with stable gain has been obtained.

Miniaturization and compact Novel printed planar monopole antenna line feed three half semi-elliptical （3HSE） with similar ground plane is presented, design, simulation, fabrication and tasted experimentally for Ultra-Wideband （UWB） communication application especially for WLAN and HIPERLAN/2 WLAN. Generating original planar antenna has been investigated to be an effect the combine geometry shapes of the radiation element part with the same geometry shapes of the slots in the ground plane. The prototype antenna is etched on a Roger TMM4 substrate with the size 25×25× 1.575 mm3 and optimized to operate over frequency band from 3.6-20 GHz, （BW 16.5 GHz）, （FBW is 〉 140.42%）. The simulation and measuring results have a good agreement, large bandwidth and radiation pattern behavior an omni-directional with stable gain rich to 5 dB.

Background:Since 2015,the pulmonary artery banding(PAB),following the Giessen protocol,has treated endstage heart failure in selected infants with preserved right ventricular function,acting as a bridge to transplant or recovery,as a result of ventricular-ventricular ***:To elucidate whether PAB is a feasible and reproducible procedure in a rodent model of pharmacologically induced dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM)and to evaluate PAB-induced ventricular ***:We used 49 Sprague-Dawley rats divided into four groups:a sham surgery control group,a healthy animal group undergoing PAB,a doxorubicin(DOX)-treated control group,and a DOX+PAB-treated *** underwent echocardiographic,histological,and molecular ***:Preliminary results showed high mortality in rats with DOX-induced DCM,with contractile dysfunction confirmed by 2D *** of damage were detected through transmission electron microscopy,but not via standard histological/molecular *** after DOX improved contractile function,enhancing ejection fraction(p=0.01)and fractional shortening(p=0.03).Conclusion:The DOX-induced DCM model,while reproducible,may not reflect DCM’s true *** mortality and individual variability limited the *** research is needed to find alternative models with lower mortality and to explore the PAB-induced molecular signaling pathways and cardiac proliferation potential.
