Genetic-Frog-Leaping Algorithm for Text Document Clustering

In recent years,the volume of information in digital form has increased tremendously owing to the increased popularity of the World Wide *** a result,the use of techniques for extracting useful information from large collections of data,and particularly documents,has become more necessary and *** clustering is such a technique;it consists in dividing a set of text documents into clusters(groups),so that documents within the same cluster are closely related,whereas documents in different clusters are as different as *** depends on measuring the content(i.e.,words)of a document in terms of ***,as documents usually contain a large number of words,some of them may be irrelevant to the topic under consideration or *** can confuse and complicate the clustering process and make it less ***,feature selection methods have been employed to reduce data dimensionality by selecting the most relevant *** this study,we developed a text document clustering optimization model using a novel genetic frog-leaping algorithm that efficiently clusters text documents based on selected *** proposed approach is based on two metaheuristic algorithms:a genetic algorithm(GA)and a shuffled frog-leaping algorithm(SFLA).The GA performs feature selection,and the SFLA performs *** evaluate its effectiveness,the proposed approach was tested on a well-known text document dataset:the“20Newsgroup”dataset from the University of California Irvine Machine Learning ***,after multiple experiments were compared and analyzed,it was demonstrated that using the proposed algorithm on the 20Newsgroup dataset greatly facilitated text document clustering,compared with classical K-means ***,this improvement requires longer computational time.

Mobile commerce(m-commerce)contributes to increasing the popularity of electronic commerce(e-commerce),allowing anybody to sell or buy goods using a mobile device or tablet anywhere and at any *** demand for e-commerce increases tremendously,the pressure on delivery companies increases to organise their transportation plans to achieve profits and customer *** important planning problem in this domain is the multi-vehicle profitable pickup and delivery problem(MVPPDP),where a selected set of pickup and delivery customers need to be served within certain allowed trip *** this paper,we proposed hybrid clustering algorithms with the greedy randomised adaptive search procedure(GRASP)to construct an initial solution for the *** approaches first cluster the search space in order to reduce its dimensionality,then use GRASP to build routes for each *** compared our results with state-of-the-art construction heuristics that have been used to construct initial solutions to this *** results show that our proposed algorithms contribute to achieving excellent performance in terms of both quality of solutions and processing time.

A Heuristic Algorithm for Solving the Faculty Assignment Problem

In this paper the author describes a heuristi-based algorithm for the faculty assignment problem. The algorithm was designed and implemented as part of a graduation project in the IT Department of King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The purpose of the project was to automate the manual tedious process of assigning TAs (teaching assistants) to suitable lab sessions, a task that needs to be done every semester in the IT Department. The algorithm was designed to fulfill the assignment task while taking into consideration a number of constraints pertaining to both the TAs (e. g. personal preference and available hours) and the IT Department (e. g. maximum allowed workload). The problem definition, the algorithm and the experimental results are thoroughly explained in this paper. The computational experimentation indicates the efficiency of the proposed algorithm in assigning courses that conform to the preferences of the TAs and the rules set forth by the IT Department.

Hematological Alterations in an Eastern Sudanese Chronic Kidney Disease Patient Population

Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), associated with a slow and progressive loss of kidney function over a period of several years, is an important clinical disaster with an increasing rate of morbidity and mortality especially in the least developed countries. Many hematological parameters are thought to alter dramatically during the course of the disease. These include white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. Methods: We tried, retrospectively, to evaluate the peripheral blood hematological alterations in a group of patients undergoing hemodialysis in an eastern Sudan dialysis center to add local medical information. Results: Anemia (Low hemoglobin and hematocrit) was detected in 94% of the patients’ group. Mean Erythrocyte count (3.32vs.4.76 (×109/L)), Hemoglobin concentration (9.4vs.13 (g/dl)), Hematocrit (28.7vs.38.7 (L/L)) and platelet count (296 vs. 238 (×109/L)) were significantly lower in the patients’ group than in the control group (P-values Conclusion: Five out of eight studied parameters (Red cell count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean cell hemoglobin concentration, and platelets count) have shown a significant alteration in CKD patients. As the complete blood count (CBC) test is the most utilized test in clinical laboratory practice, these alterations may be considered as early indicators for CKD. Furthermore, all patients with CKD must be routinely checked for these alterations.

Background:Fever of unknown origin(FUO)in developing countries is an important dilemma and further research is needed to elucidate the infectious causes of ***:A multi-center study for infectious causes of FUO in lower middle-income countries(LMIC)and lowincome countries(LIC)was conducted between January 1,2018 and January 1,*** total,15 participating centers from seven different countries provided the data,which were collected through the Infectious DiseasesInternational Research Initiative *** adult patients with confirmed infection as the cause of FUO were included in the *** severity parameters were quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(qSOFA)≥2,intensive care unit(ICU)admission,vasopressor use,and invasive mechanical ventilation(IMV).Results:A total of 160 patients with infectious FUO were included in the ***,148(92.5%)patients had community-acquired infections and 12(7.5%)had hospital-acquired *** most common infectious syndromes were tuberculosis(TB)(n=27,16.9%),infective endocarditis(n=25,15.6%),malaria(n=21,13.1%),brucellosis(n=15,9.4%),and typhoid fever(n=9,5.6%).Plasmodium falciparum,Mycobacterium tuberculosis,Brucellae,Staphylococcus aureus,Salmonella typhi,and Rickettsiae were the leading infectious agents in this study.A total of 56(35.0%)cases had invasive procedures for *** mean qSOFA score was 0.76±0.94{median(interquartile range[IQR]):0(0–1)}.ICU admission(n=26,16.2%),vasopressor use(n=14,8.8%),and IMV(n=10,6.3%)were not ***,38(23.8%)patients had at least one of the severity *** mortality rate was 15(9.4%),and the mortality was attributable to the infection causing FUO in 12(7.5%)***:In LMIC and LIC,tuberculosis and cardiac infections were the most severe and the leading infections causing FUO.

Automated extraction of attributes from natural language attribute-based access control(ABAC)Policies

The National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST)has identified natural language policies as the preferred expression of policy and implicitly called for an automated translation of ABAC natural language access control policy(NLACP)to a machine-readable *** study the automation process,we consider the hierarchical ABAC model as our reference model since it better reflects the requirements of real-world ***,this paper focuses on the questions of:how can we automatically infer the hierarchical structure of an ABAC model given NLACPs;and,how can we extract and define the set of authorization attributes based on the resulting *** address these questions,we propose an approach built upon recent advancements in natural language processing and machine learning *** such a solution,the lack of appropriate data often poses a ***,we decouple the primary contributions of this work into:(1)developing a practical framework to extract authorization attributes of hierarchical ABAC system from natural language artifacts,and(2)generating a set of realistic synthetic natural language access control policies(NLACPs)to evaluate the proposed *** experimental results are promising as we achieved-in average-an F1-score of 0.96 when extracting attributes values of subjects,and 0.91 when extracting the values of objects’attributes from natural language access control policies.

SAPEM: Secure Attestation of Program Execution and Program Memory for IoT Applications

Security is one of the major challenges that devices connected to the Internet of Things(IoT)face *** attestation is used to measure these devices’trustworthiness on the network by measuring the device platform’s *** software-based attestation mechanisms have been proposed,but none of them can detect runtime *** some researchers have attempted to tackle these attacks,the proposed techniques require additional secured hardware parts to be integrated with the attested devices to achieve their *** solutions are expensive and not suitable in many *** paper proposes a dual attestation process,SAPEM,with two phases:static and *** static attestation phase examines the program memory of the attested *** dynamic program ow attestation examines the execution correctness of the application *** can detect code injection and runtime attacks that hijack the control-ow,including data attacks that affect the program *** main aim is to minimize attestation overhead while maintaining our ability to detect the specied *** validated SAPEM by implementing it on Raspberry Pi using its TrustZone *** attested it against the specied attacks and compared its performance with the related work in the *** results show that SAPEM signicantly minimizes performance overhead while reliably detecting runtime attacks at the binary level.

Association between Serum 25-hydroxy Vitamin D Concentration and Taql Vitamin D Receptor Gene Polymorphism among Jordanian Females with Breast Cancer

Background： Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among females. Genetic polymorphisms might have a role in carcinogencsis. The aim of this study was to determine whether C to T base substitution within Taql Vitamin D receptor （VDR） gene （rs731236） in exon 9 was a risk factor among patients with breast cancer. Methods： Peripheral blood was drawn from 122 Jordanian breast cancer patients and 100 healthy Jordanian volunteers in Al-Bashecr Hospital during the summer months （from June to November of 2013, 2014, and 2015）. DNA was amplified using polymerase chain reaction （PCR）, followed by Taql restriction enzyme digestion. Quantification of serum 25-hydroxy Vitamin D （25[OH]D） level was determined by competitive immunoassay Elecsys. Results： Genotypic frequencies for Taql TT, Tt, and tt genotypes were 41%, 46%, and 13% for breast cancer compared to 42%, 50%. and 8% for control, respectively. Vitamin D serum level was significantly lower in the breast cancer patients （8.1 ± 0.3 ng/ml） compared to the control group （21.2± 0.6 ng/ml; P =0.001）. This study showed an inverse association between 25（OH）D serum level and brcasl cancer risk （odds ratio [OR], 22.72, 95% confidence interval [C/], 10.06 51.29）. Conclusions： An inverse association was found between 25（OH）D serum level and breast cancer risk. Statistical difference was also found between different VDR Taql genotypes and circulating levels of 25（OH）D among Jordanian females with breast cancer.
