Measuring and modeling evapotranspiration of a Populus euphratica forest in northwestern China

Vegetation is sparsely distributed in the arid regions of northwestern China,and accurately measuring and partitioning of evapotranspiration is of importance for ecosystems in such *** this study,we measured and analyzed diurnal and phenological variations in evapotranspiration using the eddy-covariance method based on the Penman-Monteith,Priestley-Taylor,Shuttleworth-Wallace models,a newly proposed improved dual source model and a clumped model in a forest reserve in the Ejin oasis of Populus euphratica in 2015 and 2016 growing seasons.A sensitivity analysis was performed for the models with higher accuracies and we examined the biotic and abiotic controls on *** results show that the total amounts of evapotranspiration during the two growing seasons in 2015 and 2016 were 622 and 612 mm,*** variations in evapotranspiration produced single-peak curves,while diurnal variations reflected the influence of high temperatures on some *** Priestley-Taylor and the improved dual source models gave the most accurate evapotranspiration values at the daily scale and appeared to be most suitable for the estimation of evapotranspiration for the species in arid *** addition,both models were the most sensitive to net radiation(Rn).

Seeing through dense occlusions and reconstructing scene images is an important but challenging *** framebased image de-occlusion methods may lead to fatal errors when facing extremely dense occlusions due to the lack of valid information available from the limited input occluded *** cameras are bio-inspired vision sensors that record the brightness changes at each pixel asynchronously with high temporal ***,synthesizing images solely from event streams is ill-posed since only the brightness changes are recorded in the event stream,and the initial brightness is *** this paper,we propose an event-enhanced multi-modal fusion hybrid network for image de-occlusion,which uses event streams to provide complete scene information and frames to provide color and texture *** event stream encoder based on the spiking neural network(SNN)is proposed to encode and denoise the event stream efficiently.A comparison loss is proposed to generate clearer *** results on a largescale event-based and frame-based image de-occlusion dataset demonstrate that our proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance.

Effects of coarse and fine aggregates on long-term mechanical properties of sea sand recycled aggregate concrete

Typical effects of coarse and fine aggregates on the long-term properties of sea sand recycled aggregate concrete(SSRAC)are analyzed by a series of axial compression *** different types of fine(coarse)aggregates are considered:sea sand and river sand(natural and recycled coarse aggregates).Variations in SSRAC properties at different ages are investigated.A novel test system is developed via axial compression experiments and the digital image correlation method to obtain the deformation field and crack development of *** results show that the compressive strength of SSRAC increase with decreasing recycled coarse aggregate replacement percentage and increasing sea sand chloride ion *** elastic modulus of SSRAC increases with ***,the Poisson’s ratio reduces after 2 *** axial stress-strain curves of SSRAC vary with ***,the effect of coarse aggregates on the axial deformation of SSRAC is clear;however,the deformation differences between coarse aggregate and cement mortar reduce by adopting sea *** aggregate type changes the crack characteristics and propagation of ***,an analytical expression is suggested to construct the long-term stress-strain curve of SSRAC.

The study on the nonlocal systems is one of the hot topics in nonlinear science. In this paper, the well-known fifth-order integrable systems including the Sawada-Kotera(SK) equation, the Kaup-Kupershmidt(KK) equation and the fifth-order Koterweg-de Vrise(FOKd V) equation are extended to a generalized two-place nonlocal form, the generalised fifth-order Alice-Bob system. The Lax integrability of two sets of Alice-Bob systems for all the SK, KK and FOKd V type systems are explicitly given via matrix Lax pairs. The ■ symmetry breaking and symmetry invariant periodic and solitary waves for one set of nonlocal SK, KK and FOKd V system are investigated via a special travelling wave solution ansatz.

Effect of Carbon Migration on Interface Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior in 9Cr/CrMoV Dissimilar Welded Joint

Fatigue crack growth(FCG)behavior of 9 Cr/CrMoV dissimilar welded joint at elevated temperature and different stress ratios was *** was paid to the region near the fusion line of 9 Cr where carbon-enriched zone(CEZ)and carbon-depleted zone(CDZ)formed due to carbon migration during the welding *** and brittle tempered martensite dominated the stress ratio-insensitive FCG behavior in the coarse grain zone(CGZ)of 9 *** crack near the CGZ-CEZ interface,crack deflection through the CEZ and into the CDZ was observed,accompanied by an accelerating FCG *** with the severe plastic deformation near the secondary crack in 9 Cr-CGZ,the electron back-scattered diffraction analysis showed less deformation and lower resistance in the direction toward the brittle CEZ,which resulted in the transverse *** spite of the plastic feature in CDZ revealed by fracture morphology,the less carbides due to carbon migration led to lower strength and weaker FCG resistance property in this *** conclusion,the plasticity deterioration in CEZ and strength loss in CDZ accounted for the FCG path deflection and FCG rate acceleration,respectively,which aggravated the worst FCG resistance property of 9 Cr-HAZ in the dissimilar welded joint.

Spatial pyramidal cross correlation for particle image velocimetry

A spatial pyramidal cross-correlation based on interrogation area sub-division is introduced to improve the measurement resolution in particle image velocimetry(PIV). The high-resolution velocity can be achieved with a velocity prediction model via coarse cross-correlation. The prediction formula is deduced from the frequency response of the moving average(MA). The performance of this method was assessed using synthetically generated images of sinusoidal shear flow, two-dimensional vortical cellular flow, and homogeneous turbulence. A real PIV experiment of turbulent boundary layer was used to evaluate the new method. The results indicate that the spatial pyramid cross-correlation can robustly increase the spatial resolution.

A novel arsenic adsorbent with hydrous cerium oxides coated on glass fiber cloth(HCO/GFC)was *** HCO/GFC adsorbents were rolled into a cartridge for arsenic removal *** to the large pores between the glass fibers,the arsenic polluted water can flow through *** arsenic removal performance was evaluated by testing the equilibrium adsorption isotherm,adsorption kinetics,and packed-bed *** pH effects on arsenic removal were *** test results show that HCO/GFC filter has high As(Ⅴ)and As(Ⅲ)removal capacity even at low equilibrium *** more toxic As(Ⅲ)in water can be easily removed within a wide range of solution p H without *** contaminated ground-water from Yangzong Lake(China)was used in the column *** typical breakthrough conditions(the empty bed contact time,EBCT=2 min),arsenic researched breakthrough at over 24,000 bed volumes(World Health Organization(WHO)suggested that the maximum contaminant level(MCL)for arsenic in drinking water is 10 mg/L).The Ce content in the treated water was lower than 5 ppb during the column test,which showed that cerium did not leach from the HCO/GFC material into the treated *** relationship between dosage of adsorbents and the adsorption kinetic model was also clarified,which suggested that the pseudo second order model could fit the kinetic experimental data better when the adsorbent loading was relatively low,and the pseudo first order model could fit the kinetic experimental data better when the adsorbent loading amount was relatively high.

Solitons and soliton molecules in two nonlocal Alice–Bob Sawada–Kotera systems

Two nonlocal Alice–Bob Sawada–Kotera(ABSK) systems, accompanied by the parity and time reversal invariance are studied. The Lax pairs of two systems are uniformly written out in matrix form. The periodic waves, multiple solitons, and soliton molecules of the ABSK systems are obtained via the bilinear method and the velocity resonant mechanism. Though the interactions among solitons are elastic, the interactions between soliton and soliton molecules are not *** particular, the shapes of the soliton molecules are changed explicitly after interactions.
