The present work is focusing on the synthesization and physico-chemical properties of Jatropha curcas biodiesel with diesel and *** densities of binary diesel(2)+1-alkanols(C_(3) or C_(4))(3)and ternary Jatropha curcas biodiesel(1)+diesel(2)+1-alkanols(C_(3)or C_(4))(3)blends have been reported over full range of composition at temperatures within range 288.15 to 313.15 *** densities of Jatropha curcas biodiesel(1)+diesel or 1-alkanols(C_(3) or C_(4))(2)blends have been measured at 313.15 *** molar volumes,V^E,V^E_(123)of binary and ternary blends were calculated from the measured data and the derived properties were correlated to composition using Redlich-Kister equation.A reasonable agreement was found between the measured and estimated ***,densities and excess molar volumes data were reasoned to discuss molecular interactions taking into consideration effect of composition and temperature.

Background:When a privately owned firm or privatized government entity raises capital by selling its stocks for the first time to general public,is known as initial public offering(IPO).The underpricing phenomenon and ownership structure are important characteristics of IPO process that significantly affect the short-run and long-run performance of private firm and privitized *** study compares the short-and long-run performance,and factors affecting these performances for both private IPOs and privatized IPOs in *** further investigates the relationship between capital structor and initial underpricing for both group of ***:Event study methodology is used to compares short-and long-run performance spanning from March 2000 to June 2015 of two categories of IPOs issued in the Karachi Stock Exchange(KSE).Multivariate regression analysis is applied to examine the factors that affect the short-run and long-run performance as well as for investigating the relationship betwen underpricing and ownership structure for both group of ***:We find that both categories outperform in IPOs at which they are offered to investors on first day of trading,although differences in mean are *** a five-year buy-and hold strategy,privatizing IPOs outperform and private IPOs underperform returns on the benchmark KSE 100 Stock *** results reveal that the size of the private firm or government entity,aftermarket risk of IPOs,and subscription ratio are significantly associated with the underpricing of IPO shares brought to ***-day returns,market volatility and retained ownership are associated with higher five-year *** find that the concentration of ownership is similar,for both categories of IPOs;and significantly positive related to *** size of the firm/entity,aftermarket risk,return on assets and subscription ratio also affect ownership ***:Same level of underpricing in both private

AIM: To report the long-term outcomes of combined excisional goniotomy and manual small incision cataract surgery(MSICS).METHODS: This is a retrospective case series of patients with open angle glaucoma and visually significant cataracts that underwent combined excisional goniotomy and MSICS with one-year follow-up. The medical history, demographic information, and clinical characteristics of each case were recorded. Data regarding changes in vision, intraocular pressure(IOP), the number of glaucoma medications, and the evolution of the disease after surgery were reported. RESULTS: Three patients, with open angle glaucoma and cataracts underwent combined excisional goniotomy and MSICS without adverse events. All patients had improvement in vision compared to baseline measurements. The range of IOP at baseline was from 14 to 18 mm Hg and decrease to a range of 10 to 14 mm Hg after one year of follow-up. Additionally, two patients also decreased their dependence on IOP-lowering medications at the last follow up visit with one patient maintaining baseline level of medication ***: A combination of excisional goniotomy and MSICS illustrates both the safety and efficacy to treat patients with visually significant cataract and glaucoma. This procedure allows for a more cost-effective surgical approach that matches the needs of resource strained territories around the globe.

The CCD photometric observations of open star cluster M37(NGC 2099) were carried out up to a limiting magnitude of V ～ 20 in both B and V filters to search for variable stars using a 2k×4k CCD and the 1.3 m telescope at the Vainu Bapu Observatory, Kavalur.A total of 314 stars were in the first observing run, out of which 60 were identified as *** out of the identified 60 variables are classified as W UMa binary *** model fitting, we used PHOEBE based on the W-D code to estimate the physical parameters of these newly detected W UMa binaries that theoretically best match the observed light curves.

This paper analyses the impact of square wave pulse voltage deadtime on the partial discharge(PD)and the lifetime of turn-to-turn insulation.A bipolar repetitive pulse voltage with a deadtime of 0–10μs is produced using double half-bridge solid-state switches having push–pull technology controlled by a field-programmable gate *** mechanism of the discharge process at rising and falling edges of the pulse voltage before and after deadtime is analysed in *** discharge amplitude and PD probability at the rising/falling edges of the voltage waveform increase as the deadtime increases from 0 to 10μs due to the remanent *** number of PD and their intensity is higher at the first rising/falling edges of pulse voltage as compared to the second rising/falling edges for all deadtimes 0–10μ*** the deadtime increases beyond 2μs,the number of PDs increases and concentrates at a specific phase angle of rising/falling *** localise discharges degrade the insulation material and reduce its *** study helps to identify the inverter-fed motor insulation faults due to *** can provide guidelines to motor insulation designers to determine the limit value of deadtime to compensate PD and ensure the safer operation of such motors.

AIM To studied iron metabolism in liver, spleen, and serum after acute liver-damage, in relation to surrogate markers for liver-damage and *** Rats received intraperitoneal injection of the hepatotoxin thioacetamide(TAA), and were sacrificed regularly between 1 and 96 h thereafter. Serum levels of transaminases and iron were measured using conventional laboratory assays. Liver tissue was used for conventional histology, immunohistology, and iron staining. The expression of acute-phase cytokines, ferritin light chain(FTL), and ferritin heavy chain(FTH)was investigated in the liver by q RT-PCR. Western blotting was used to investigate FTL and FTH in liver tissue and serum. Liver and spleen tissue was also used to determine iron *** After a short initial decrease, iron serum concentrations increased in parallel with serum transaminase(aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase) levels, which reached a maximum at 48 h, and decreased thereafter. Similarly, after 48 h a significant increase in FTL, and after 72 h in FTH was detected in serum. While earliest morphological signs of inflammation in liver were visible after 6 h, increased expression of the two acute-phase cytokines IFN-γ(1 h) and IL-1β(3 h) was detectable earlier, with maximum values after 12-24 h. Iron concentrations in liver tissue increased steadily between 1 h and 48 h, and remained high at 96 h. In contrast, spleen iron concentrations remained unchanged until 48 h, and increased mildly thereafter(96 h). Although tissue iron staining was negative, hepatic FTL and FTH protein levels were strongly elevated. Our results reveal effects on hepatic iron concentrations after direct liver injury by TAA. The increase of liver iron concentrations may be due to the uptake of a significant proportion of the metal by healthy hepatocytes, and only to a minor extent by macrophages, as spleen iron concentrations do not increase in parallel.
