Background: Extensive cutaneous burns caused by alkylating chemical warfare agent sulfur mustard (Sm) have been associated with the severe suppression of the immune system in humans. We aimed to study the association between late cutaneous and immunological complications of Sm poisoning. methods: Skin examination was performed on all Sm-poisoned Iranian veterans in the province of Khorasan, Iran, who had significant clinical complications, and their Sm intoxication was confirmed by toxicological analysis. Light microscopy was performed on eight skin biopsies. Blood cell counts, serum immunoglobulin and complement factor, as well as flow cytometric, analyses were performed on all the patients. The severity of cutaneous complications were classified into four grades and compared with hematological and immunological parameters, using Spearman’s rank correlation test. Results: Forty male subjects, confirmed with Sm poisoning *** earlier, were studied. The main objective findings were hyperpigmentation (55%), dry skin (40%), multiple cherry angiomas (37.5%), atrophy (27.5%), and hypopigmentation (25%). Histopathologic findings were nonspecific and compatible with hyperpigmented old atrophic scars. Except for the hematocrit and C4 levels, hematological and immunological parameters revealed no significant correlation with the severity grades of cutaneous complications. Conclusion: Sulfur mustard is an alkylating agent with prolonged adverse effects on both the skin and the immune system. Allthough skin is a major transporting system for Sm’s systemic absorption, there is probably no correlation between the severity of late cutaneous and immunological complications of Sm poisoning.

In this paper, according to the temperature and strain distribution obtained by considering the Gaussian pump profile and dependence of physical properties on temperature, we derive an analytical model for refractive index variations of the diode side-pumped Nd：YAG laser rod. Then we evaluate this model by numerical solution and our maximum relative errors are 5% and 10% for variations caused by thermo–optical and thermo–mechanical effects; respectively. Finally, we present an analytical model for calculating the focal length of the thermal lens and spherical aberration. This model is evaluated by experimental results.

We report the specification of a compact and stable side diode-pumped Q-switched pulsed Nd：YAG laser. We ex- perimentally study and compare the performance of the pulsed Nd：YAG laser in the free-running and Q-switched modes at different pulse repetition rates from 1 Hz to 100 Hz. The laser output energy is stabilized by using a special configu- ration of the optical resonator. In this laser, an unsymmetrical concave-concave resonator is used and this structure helps the mode volume to be nearly fixed when the pulse repetition rate is increased. According to the experimental results in the Q-switched operation, the laser output energy is nearly constant around 70 mJ with an FWHm pulse width of 7 ns at 100 Hz. The optical-to-optical conversion efficiency in the Q-switched regime is 17.5%.

This study aims to draw an exact boundary for microstructural and mechanical behaviors in terms of pulsed plasma nitriding *** pulsed plasma nitriding treatment was applied to AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel at different temperatures and *** reveal that nitriding depth increased as process temperature and duration *** nitriding depth remarkably increased at 475℃for 8 h and at 550℃for 4 *** austenite structure was transformed into a metastable nitrogen-oversaturated body-centered tetragonal expanded austenite(S-phase)during low-temperature plasma *** S-phase was converted to CrN precipitation at 475℃for 8 h and at 550℃for 4 *** hardness and fatigue limit increased through plasma nitriding regardless of process *** best surface hardness and fatigue limit were obtained at 550℃for 4 h because of the occurrence of CrN precipitation.

In this investigation, a novel thermally coupled reactor （TCR） containing methyl formate （mF） production in the endothermic side and methanol synthesis in the exothermic side has been investigated. The interesting feature of this TCR is that productive methanol in the exothermic side could be recycled and used as feed of endothermic side for mF synthesis. Other important advantages of the proposed system are high production rates of hydrogen and mF. The configuration consists of two thermally coupled concentric tubular reactors. In these coupled reactors, autothermal system is obtained within the reactor. A steady-state heterogeneous model is used for simulation of the coupled reactor. The proposed model has been utilized to compare the performance of TCR with the conventional methanol reactor （CmR）. Noticeable enhancement can be obtained in the performance of the reactors. The influence of operational parameters is studied on reactor performance. The results show that coupling of these reactions could be feasible and beneficial. Experimental proof-of-concept is required to validate the operation of the novel reactor.

For the treatment of mRSA-infected wounds,the spatiotemporally sequential delivery of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs is a promising *** this study,ROS-responsive HA-PBA/PVA(HPA)hydrogel was prepared by phenylborate ester bond cross-linking between hyaluronic acid-grafted 3-amino phenylboronic acid(HA-PBA)and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)to achieve spatiotemporally controlled release of two kinds of drug to treat mRSA-infected *** hydrophilic antibiotic moxifloxacin(m)was directly loaded in the *** hydrophobic curcumin(Cur)with anti-inflammatory function was first mixed with Pluronic F127(PF)to form Cur-encapsulated PF micelles(Cur-PF),and then loaded into the HPA *** to the different hydrophilic and hydrophobic nature of moxifloxacin and Cur and their different existing forms in the HPA hydrogel,the final HPA/m&Cur-PF hydrogel can achieve different spatiotemporally sequential delivery of the two *** addition,the swelling,degradation,self-healing,antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,antioxidant property,and biocompatibility of hydrogels were ***,in the mRSA-infected mouse skin wound,the hydrogel-treated group showed faster wound closure,less inflammation and more collagen *** experiments further confirmed that the hydrogel promoted better repair by reducing inflammation(TNF-a)and promoting vascular(VEGF)*** conclusion,this HPA/m&CurPF hydrogel that can spatiotemporally sequential deliver antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs showed great potential for the repair of mRSA-infected skin wounds.

Forest management planning often relies on Airborne Laser Scanning(ALS)-based Forest management Inventories(FmIs)for sustainable and efficient *** the area-based(ABA)approach,these inventories estimate forest characteristics for grid cell areas(pixels),which are then usually summarized at the stand *** the ALS-based high-resolution Norwegian Forest Resource maps(16 m×16 m pixel resolution)alongside with stand-level growth and yield models,this study explores the impact of three levels of pixel aggregation(standlevel,stand-level with species strata,and pixel-level)on projected stand *** results indicate significant differences in the projected outputs based on the aggregation ***,the most substantial difference in estimated volume occurred between stand-level and pixel-level aggregation,ranging from-301 to+253 m^(3)·ha^(-1)for single *** differences were,on average,higher for broadleaves than for spruce and pine dominated stands,and for mixed stands and stands with higher variability than for pure and homogenous *** conclusion,this research underscores the critical role of input data resolution in forest planning and management,emphasizing the need for improved data collection practices to ensure sustainable forest management.

OBJECTIVE: To focus a new chemoprevention approach that uses nanotechnology to deliver luteolin to human breast cancer cells(mCF-7), and its underlying ***: Water-soluble copolymer-encapsulated nanoparticle-luteolin(CENL) was formulated using the hydrophobic drug luteolin. The ability to load and release he anticancer drug into/from the synthesized hyperbranched polyester was evaluated by high-performance liquid *** successful synthesis of CENL was supported by analytical techniques including fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography,and dynamic light scattering. Cell viability was measured using the 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide color method. Reactive oxygen species(ROS) were measured using a dichlorofluorescein probe and intracellular calcium(Cai2+) was evaluated with a flu3-Am ***: The results showed that the drug delivery system is stable and that the loading capacity is high. Treatment with nanoparticles containing luteolin and free luteolin resulted in cell death in breast cancer cells at high concentrations (IC50(33 ± 4) and(48 ± 6) μm, respectively)At high concentrations,CENL reduced cell viability and increased ROS and Cai2+ ***: Our results demonstrate that CENL has potential for human breast cancer treatment.
