Design parameter optimization method for a prestressed steel structure driven by multi-factor coupling

To achieve efficient structural design,it is crucial to reduce the cost of materials while ensuring structural *** study proposes an optimization method for design parameters(DPs)in a prestressed steel structure driven by multi-factor *** accomplish this,a numerical proxy model of prestressed steel structures is established with integration of DPs and mechanical parameters(MPs).A data association-parameter analysis-optimization selection system is established.A correlation between DPs and MPs is established using a back propagation(BP)neural *** correlation provides samples for parameter analysis and optimization *** are used to characterize the safety of the *** on the safety grade analysis,the key DPs that affect the mechanical properties of the structure are obtained.A mapping function is created to match the MPs and the key *** optimal structural DPs are obtained by setting structural materials as the optimization objective and safety energy as the constraint *** theoretical model is applied to an 80-m-span gymnasium and verified with a scale test physical *** MPs obtained using the proposed method are in good agreement with the experimental *** with the traditional design method,the design cycle can be shortened by more than 90%.Driven by the optimal selection method,a saving of more than 20% can be achieved through reduction of structural material ***,the cross-sectional dimensions of radial cables have a substantial influence on vertical *** initial tension and cross-sectional size of the upper radial cable exhibit the most pronounced impact on the stress distribution in that *** initial tension and cross-sectional size of the lower radial cable hold the greatest sway over the stress distribution in that cable.

Effect of prisms on visual acuity,contrast sensitivity and nystagmus in patients with albinism

AIM:To investigate the effect of using base-out prisms on nystagmus,visual acuity and contrast sensitivity in patients with ***:In this interventional study,patients with albinism who had nystagmus were enrolled.A comprehensive eye exam was conducted,which included refraction,assessment of far and near vision acuity,and contrast sensitivity *** check for the nystagmus,a videonystagmography was *** tests were carried out in three modes:without any correction,with optical correction,and with correction using base-out prisms in three different powers,including 4,6,and 8 prism ***:Totally 23 patients with average age of 28.65±12.13 were *** was found that the use of optical correction and optical correction with prisms resulted in a statistically significant improvement in both far(at least:P<0.006)and near visual acuity(at least:P<0.001 except for prism 8;P<0.02).In addition,contrast sensitivity significantly improved at all low and medium frequencies except for correction with prism 8 in frequency 1.5(at least:P<0.01 except for prism 4,frequency 6;P=0.04).no significant improvement was observed in the evaluation of nystagmus ***:Optical correction with a prism can improve visual acuity and some spatial frequencies,but failed to improve nystagmus parameters.

Glaciers in the Pamir region are experiencing rapid melting and receding due to climate change,which has a significant implication for the Amu Darya river ***,surging glaciers,which undergo unpredictable advances,are potentially leading to the obstruction of high-altitude river channels and also glacial lake outburst *** of-703.5±30.0 *** is a substantial increase in the number(from 19 to 75)and area(from 4889.7±0.6 m2 to 15345.5±0.6 m2)of RGS lakes along with supra-glacier ponds based on a comparison of ArcGIS base map in 2011 and high-resolution UAV data in *** M glacier,number of lakes increased from 4 to 22 but the lake area declined from 10715.2±0.6 to 365.6±0.6 *** was noted that the largest lake in 2011 with an area of 10406.4±0.6 m2 at the southeastern portion of the glacier was not observed in 2023 due to *** the glaciers have substantially impacted the river flow(Abdukahor river)by obstructing a significant proportion of river channel in recent years and might cause outburst *** findings enhance the understanding of glacier dynamics and their impacts on the surrounding areas,emphasizing the urgent need for continued monitoring and appropriate management strategies,with a specific focus on surging glaciers and the associated risks.

The effect of celastrol in combination with 5-fluorouracil on proliferation and apoptosis of gastric cancer cell lines

Background:Despite the availability of chemotherapy drugs such as 5-ﬂuorouracil(5-FU),the treatment of some cancers such as gastric cancer remains challenging due to drug resistance and side *** study aimed to investigate the effect of celastrol in combination with the chemotherapy drug 5-FU on proliferation and induction of apoptosis in human gastric cancer cell lines(AGS and EPG85-257).Materials and Methods:In this in vitro study,AGS and EPG85-257 cells were treated with different concentrations of celastrol,5-FU,and their *** proliferation was assessed using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide(MTT)*** synergistic effect of 5-FU and celastrol was studied using Compusyn *** DNA content at different phases of the cell cycle and apoptosis rate was measured usingﬂow ***:Co-treatment with low concentrations(10%inhibitory concentration(IC10))of celastrol and 5-FU signiﬁcantly reduced IC50(p<0.05)so that 48 h after treatment,IC50 was calculated at 3.77 and 6.9μM for celastrol,20.7 and 11.6μM for 5-FU,and 5.03 and 4.57μM for their combination for AGS and EPG85-257 cells,*** mean percentage of apoptosis for AGS cells treated with celastrol,5-FU,and their combination was obtained 23.9,41.2,and 61.9,and for EPG85-257 cells 5.65,46.9,and 55.7,*** addition,the 5-FU and celastrol-5-FU combination induced cell cycle arrest in the synthesis ***:Although celastrol could decrease the concentration of 5-ﬂuorouracil that sufﬁced to suppress gastric cancer cells,additional studies are required to arrive at conclusive evidence on the anticancer effects of celastrol.

Spatiotemporal Variation of Water Cycle Intensity in the Pamir Plateau from 1980 to 2019 and Its Climatic Drivers

A comprehensive understanding of the hydrological cycle is essential for Earth system science and climate change research. The Water Cycle Intensity(WCI) is defined as the sum of precipitation and actual evapotranspiration within a landscape unit. It is a widely used metric to quantify the impact of climate change on the global distribution of water resources. WCI in the Pamir Plateau, located at the heart of Asian Water Towers, has received little attention. Understanding this aspect is crucial for assessing the impact of climate change on the hydrological cycle and devising strategies to adapt to these changes. Our study assessed the spatiotemporal variation in WCI on the Pamir Plateau from 1980 to 2019 using the WCI framework. Additionally, we explored the teleconnection mechanisms linking the WCI with the Indian Ocean Dipole Mode Index(DMI), canonical El Ni?o-Southern Oscillation(ENSO), and El Ni?o Modoki(EMI) using the wavelet analysis method. The findings showed that the WCI of the Pamir Plateau experienced a statistically insignificant increase from 1980 to 2019, particularly after 2003. Spatially, the eastern Pamir Plateau WCI increased significantly, whereas the western region showed a non-significant downward trend. This study found that the WCI in the Pamir Plateau is significantly influenced by atmospheric circulation patterns, and the variation in the WCI in the Pamir Plateau is mainly affected by the canonical ENSO, as well as by the coupling effect of canonical ENSO, and EMI. In addition, based on the characteristics of the regional hydrological cycle, we developed water resource management policies targeting flood risks in the northern Pamir Plateau and drought trends in the southwestern region. These insights not only deepen our understanding of changes in terrestrial hydrological cycles and their underlying mechanisms under climate change but also provide important references for water resource management in the mountainous regions of Central Asia.

Respiratory complications of propofol,sevoflurane,and dexmedetomidine anesthesia for fiberoptic bronchoscopy in children aged 1 month to 3 years:a randomized trial

Objective To evaluate the effect of propofol,sevoflurane,and dexmedetomidine on respiratory complications inchildren undergoing fiberoptic bronchoscopy(FOB).Methods This double-blind randomized clinical trial was conductedamong 120 children aged 1 month to 3 years undergoing *** patients were randomized into 3 groups(n=40)foranesthesia induction with sevoflurane inhalation,1 mg/kg propofol,or 1μg/kg dexmedetomidine before bronchoscopy,andthe changes in hemodynamic parameters,sedation level,and respiratory complications during and after the procedure *** The patients'heart rate during bronchoscopy was significantly lower and the mean arterial blood pressuresignificantly higher in dexmedetomidine group than in sevoflurane and propofol groups(P<0.05).Cough duringbronchoscopy did not occur in any of the cases in propofol group,while the highest frequency of cough was recorded indexmedetomidine *** incidence of laryngospasm in the propofol group(12.5%)was significantly lower than those insevoflurane and dexmedetomidine groups(30%and 32.5%,respectively)(P<0.05).Conclusion Sevoflurane and propofol aresafe and suitable for anesthesia induction in children below 3 years of age undergoing diagnostic FOB and can achieve bettersedative effect and lower the incidences of cough and respiratory complications as compared with dexmedetomidine.
