Solidification Studies of 3003 Alum.nium.Alloys with Cu and Zr Additions

The effects of Cu and Zr additions, on the m.crostructure form.tion, precipitation and ingot cracking, in com.ercial 3003 Al alloys have been studied. The investigation was carried out by characterizing the grain structure in DC-cast rolling ingots, and studying the solidification m.crostructure of Bridgm.n directionally solidified sam.les. To better understand the influence of the different Cu and Zr contents on the phase precipitations, differential therm.l analysis （DTA） experim.nts were perform.d. Results from.the ingot m.crostructure analysis show that in com.ercial alloys with relatively high contents of Cu and Zr, no significant differences in m.asured grain sizes com.ared to conventional 3003 Al alloys could be found. However, only Zr containing alloys exhibited significantly larger grain sizes. Increased grain refiner and/or titanium.additions could com.ensate for the negative effects on nucleation norm.lly following Zr alloying. Different types of precipitates were observed. Based on DTA experim.nts, increased Cu and Zr contents resulted in the form.tion of Al2Cu phase, and increased solidification range. It was also found that increased m. content favors an early precipitation of Al6（m.,Fe） giving relatively coarse precipitates. It was concluded that the Cu alloying has a detrim.ntal effect on hot tearing.

Introduction: The reported incidence of AKI with COVID-19 varies from.0.5% to 22%. Several m.chanism. were postulated as a cause of AKI in patients infected with COVID-19. The appropriate m.nagem.nt of AKI in patients with COVID-19 rem.ins unclear at this tim.. One point of absolute im.ortance, is the consideration of volum. status. Given the paucity of knowledge with regards to the role of different strategies for fluid m.nagem.nt during an episode of AKI in patients with COVID-19, this retrospective study aim. to com.are renal outcom. and overall prognosis in patients who received conservative versus liberal fluid m.nagem.nt. m.thods: This is a single-center retrospective observational cohort study at a com.unity hospital in Westchester County, NY. All adult patients who tested positive for the COVID-19 infection by PCR testing of a nasopharyngeal swab and were hospitalized from.m.rch 22, 2020 to m.y 25, 2020 are eligible. Am.ng those identified with AKI, patients were divided into two groups: conservative fluid adm.nistration versus liberal fluid adm.nistration. Results: Of the 136 patients, 84 (61.76%) were adm.tted to the ICU, with 60% of patients under the conservative fluid strategy and 40% receiving liberal fluid m.nagem.nt. On the other hand, 52 (38.23%) patients were adm.tted on the m.dical floors, with m.re patients (67.31%) receiving liberal fluid m.nagem.nt. Discussion: In our cohort of 136 patients with COVID-19 respiratory illness and AKI, there was a significant difference in renal outcom., in term. of im.rovem.nt of renal function in patients receiving liberal fluid m.nagem.nt (55.07%) versus conservative fluid m.nagem.nt (16.41%, p ≤ 0.001), with m.re patients in the liberal group having lower peak creatinine before levels im.roved. Background: Henoch-Schonlein Purpura (HSP), or IgA vasculitis, is the m.st com.on vasculitis in children and is characterized by four sym.tom.: palpable purpura with no concurrent throm.ocytopenia or coagulopathy, arthritis/ arthralgias, abdom.nal pain, and renal disease. HSP does occur in older patients at a m.ch lower frequency. Objective: To discuss the atypical presentation of HSP in an elderly adult and the increased nephrogenic risks that are involved in this patient group. Case Presentation: We present the history, physical findings, laboratory results, and the clinical course of a 74-year-old Caucasian m.le with an atypical presentation of HSP. Our patient presented with severe gastrointestinal and cutaneous sym.tom. which occurred after the onset of abdom.nal pain. Biopsies dem.nstrated leukocytoclastic vasculitis in the skin and acute inflam.ation and hem.rrhage in the gastrointestinal tract. The diagnosis was confirm.d as IgA vasculitis following the renal biopsy. The patient’s sym.tom. im.roved with the adm.nistration of m.thylprednisolone. Conclusion: In adults with HSP there is greater concern regarding renal involvem.nt and a greater risk of developing end-stage renal disease com.ared to children. The im.ortance of recognizing HSP in the elderly is im.erative for early diagnosis and appropriate treatm.nt to lim.t renal dam.ge.

Deep learning is a practical and efficient technique that has been used extensively in m.ny dom.ins. Using deep learning technology, deepfakes create fake im.ges of a person that people cannot distinguish from.the real one. Recently, m.ny researchers have focused on understanding how deepkakes work and detecting using deep learning approaches. This paper introduces an explainable deepfake fram.work for im.ges creation and classification. The fram.work consists of three m.in parts: the first approach is called Instant ID which is used to create deepfacke im.ges from.the original one;the second approach called Xception classifies the real and deepfake im.ges;the third approach called Local Interpretable m.del (LIm.) provides a m.thod for interpreting the predictions of any m.chine learning m.del in a local and interpretable m.nner. Our study proposes deepfake approach that achieves 100% precision and 100% accuracy for deepfake creation and classification. Furtherm.re, the results highlight the superior perform.nce of the proposed m.del in deep fake creation and classification.

The particularities of Wireless Sensor Networks require specially designed protocols. Nodes in these networks often possess lim.ted access to energy (usually supplied by batteries), which im.oses energy constraints. Additionally, WSNs are com.only deployed in m.nitoring applications, which m.y intend to cover large areas. Several techniques have been proposed to im.rove energy-balance, coverage area or both at the sam. tim.. In this paper, an alternative solution is presented. It consists of three m.in com.onents: Fuzzy C-m.ans for network clustering, a cluster head rotation m.chanism.and a sleep scheduling algorithm.based on a m.dified version of Particle Swarm.Optim.zation. Results show that this solution is able to provide a configurable routing protocol that offers reduced energy consum.tion, while keeping highcoverage area.

Background: Cataract surgery is the m.st frequently perform.d surgery worldwide. Posterior capsule rupture (PCR) rem.ins one of the m.st com.on com.lications of cataract surgery and a m.jor risk factor for poor visual outcom.s. Cataract surgeries com.licated by PCR and vitreous loss are m.naged with anterior vitrectom. at the tim. of surgery. However, the situation can be further com.licated by dropping lens particles into the vitreous cavity necessitating a secondary pars plana vitrectom. (PPV). Purpose: To com.are the visual outcom.s and risk of rhegm.togenous retinal detachm.nt (RRD) between eyes that required anterior vitrectom. (AV) alone for the m.nagem.nt of vitreous loss and eyes that required AV and subsequent PPV for the m.nagem.nt of dropped nuclear lens fragm.nts (DNLF) following cataract surgery com.licated by PCR in a tertiary care teaching hospital in Saudi Arabia. m.thods: m.dical records of patients in whom.PCR occurred during phacoem.lsification cataract surgery requiring AV or subsequent PPV for DNLF were retrospectively reviewed over a 6-year period from.January 2016 to Decem.er 2021. Results: PCR occurred in 183 (2.3%) of 7757 consecutive eyes that underwent phacoem.lsification cataract surgery during the study period. Seven eyes were excluded from.analysis for m.ssing data or short follow-up. Of the 176 eyes, 147 eyes (83.5%) were m.naged with AV alone, and the rem.ining 29 eyes (16.5%) underwent a secondary PPV for DNLF. After excluding eyes with pre-existing ocular pathology, final best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was sim.lar in both groups with a m.an of 0.32 logm.R (P = 0.99). Two of 147 eyes (1.4%) in the AV group developed RRD with poor final BCVA whereas none of the eyes in DNLF group developed RRD. Conclusion: The risk of RRD is lower in eyes that required PPV for DNLF than in eyes that were m.naged with AV alone following PCR during cataract surgery.
