ECO-BAT: A New Routing Protocol for Energy Consumption Optimization Based on BAT Algorith. in WSN

Wireless sensor network (WSN) h.s been widely used due to its vastrange of applications. Th. energy problem is one of th. important problems influencingth. complete application. Sensor nodes use very small batteries as a powersource and replacing th.m is not an easy task. With.th.s restriction, th. sensornodes must conserve th.ir energy and extend th. network lifetime as long as ***, th.se limits motivate much.of th. research.to suggest solutions in alllayers of th. protocol stack to save energy. So, energy management efficiencybecomes a key requirement in WSN design. Th. efficiency of th.se networks ish.gh.y dependent on routing protocols directly affecting th. network *** is one of th. most popular tech.iques preferred in routing *** th.s work we propose a novel energy-efficient protocol for WSN based on a batalgorith. called ECO-BAT (Energy Consumption Optimization with.BAT algorith.for WSN) to prolong th. network lifetime. We use an objective function th.tgenerates an optimal number of sensor clusters with.cluster h.ads (Ch. to minimizeenergy consumption. Th. performance of th. proposed approach.is comparedwith.Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering h.erarch. (LEACh. and EnergyEfficient cluster formation in wireless sensor networks based on th. Multi-Objective Bat algorith. (EEMOB) protocols. Th. results obtained are interestingin terms of energy-saving and prolongation of th. network lifetime.

Atmosph.ric concentrations of radon（^（222）Rn） gas and its sh.rt-lived progenies^（218）Po,^（214）Pb, and^（214）Po were continuously monitored every four h.urs at th. ground level in Jeddah.city, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Th. measurements were performed th.ee times every week, starting from November 2014 to October 2015. A meth.d of electrostatic precipitation of positively ch.rged^（218）Po and ^（214）Po by a positive voltage was applied for determining^（222）Rn gas concentration. Th. sh.rt-lived^（222）Rn progeny concentration was determined by using a filter h.lder connected with.th. alph.-spectrometric tech.ique. Th. meteorological parameters（relative air h.midity, air temperature, and wind speed） were determined during th. measurements of^（222）Rn and its progeny concentrations.^（222）Rn gas as well as its sh.rt-lived progeny concentration display a daily and seasonal variation with.h.gh.values in th. nigh. and early morning h.urs as compared to low values at noon and in th. afternoon. Th. observed month.y atmosph.ric concentrations sh.wed a seasonal trend with.th. h.gh.st values in th. autumn/winter season and th. lowest values in th. spring/summer season. Moreover, and in parallel with.alph.spectrometric measurements, a single filter-h.lder was used to collect air samples. Th. deposited activities of^（214）Pb and th. long-lived^（222）Rn daugh.er ^（210）Pb on th. filter were measured with.th. gamma spectrometric tech.ique. Th. measured activity concentrations of^（214）Pb by both.tech.iques were found to be relatively equal largely. Th. h.gh.st mean seasonally activity concentrations of ^（210）Pb were observed in th. autumn/winter season wh.le th. lowest mean were observed in th. spring/summer season. Th. mean residence time（MRT） of aerosol particles in th. atmosph.ric air could be estimated from th. activity ratios of ^（210）Pb/^（214）Pb.

BP neural network model,and th. prediction result is more accurate and dependable,providing a new tech.ique for cold ch.in food production companies to swiftly pick th. best cold ch.in logistics service provider.

In th.s paper, we propose an algorith. for solving inequality constrained mini-max optimization problem. In th.s algorith., an active set strategy is used togeth.r with.mul- tiplier meth.d to convert th. inequality constrained mini-max optimization problem into unconstrained optimization problem. A trust-region meth.d is a well-accepted tech.ique in constrained optimization to assure global convergence and is more robust wh.n th.y deal with.rounding errors. One of th. advantages of trust-region meth.d is th.t it does not require th. objective function of th. model to be convex. A global convergence analysis for th. proposed algorith. is presented under some conditions. To sh.w th. efficiency of th. algorith. numerical results for a number of test problems are reported.

Th. optical ch.racteristics of a simple, planar, single layer, dielectric Mg-based guided mode resonance filter （GMRF） were investigated by means of rigorous-coupled wave analysis （RCWA）. Th.s filter h.s great potential for real-life applications, especially as bio- and environmental sensors. Th. structure of th. proposed sensor is compact, and all of its layers can be grown in a single process. In th.s paper, we present results on th. design of a water pollution sensor in th. violet region of th. visible spectrum. Th. spectral and angular sensitivities of th. sensor for both.th. transverse electric （TE） and transverse magnetic （TM） polarization modes were estimated and compared for various regions in th. violet spectrum. A spectral response ch.racterized with.a narrow bandwidth.and low reflection side bands was realized by carrying out extensive parameter search.and optimization. Optimal spectral and angular sensitivities were found for th. sensor with.a grating th.ckness of 100nm in th. TM polarized mode wh.re we found th.m to be 100nm and 40 degrees, per index refraction unit, respectively.
