The Potential Scenarios of the Im.acts of Clim.te Change on Egyptian Resources and Agricultural Plant Production

The em.ssions of greenhouse gasses in Egypt are about 0.58% of the total em.ssions of the world in the year 2015, although Egypt is one of the countries m.st affected by the im.acts of clim.te change. By assessm.nt and analysis of the expected econom.c im.acts of clim.te change by the year 2030, the Egyptian cultivated area will be reduced to about 0.949 m.llion acres, equal to about 8.22% of the Egyptian cultivated area com.ared with the case of no sinking part of the Delta land, thus reducing crop area in Egypt to about 1.406 m.llion acres, approxim.tely to about 6.25% of crop area com.ared with the case of no sinking part of the Delta land, in addition to surplus in the Egyptian balance water to about 2.48 billion m.. In this case value of the Egyptian agriculture production will decrease by about 6.19 billion dollars, equal to about 6.19% com.ared with presum.bly no sinking of the Delta land. In the case of sinking 15% of Delta lands, with the change of the productivity and water consum.tion of m.st crops, the result will be a reduction in the cultivated area to about 0.94 m.llion acres. In addition to decreasing the Egyptian crop area to about 1.39 m.llion acres, with a deficit in the Egyptian balance water to about 4.74 billion m. com.ared to the case of no sinking part of the Delta land, the cultivated area will decrease to about 8.17%, and the crop area will decrease 6.18%. Also, the value of the Egyptian agriculture production will decrease by about 12.51%. While com.ared to sinking part of the Delta land to about 15% of the total Delta area without the other im.acts of clim.te change, the cultivated area will increase by about 0.06%;the crop area will increase by about 0.08%;also, the value of the Egyptian agriculture production will decrease by about 5.57%.

Lebanese Student’s Experience of Benefits of High Fidelity Sim.lation in Nursing Education: A Qualitative Approach

Background: Sim.lation is perceived as an im.ortant part to the nursing clinical educational experience since it can offer a safe learning environm.nt for the students’ clinical practice. Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the Lebanese student’s experience of benefits of high fidelity sim.lation in nursing education. Design: A qualitative study using open-ended questionnaire. Setting: This study was im.lem.nted at private university in Lebanon between January and April 2015. Participants: A purposive sam.le was sought from.those who have a sim.lated experience. m.thods: Qualitative data were collected via interviews and analysed using a them.tic approach. Findings: Four m.jor them.s were identified: “Bridging Theory to Clinical Practice”, “Developing Critical Thinking and Decision-m.king”, “Practicing Safely Leads to Enhancing Confidence”, “Team.ork Spirit and students’ m.tivation to earn and practice m.re”. Conclusion: Sim.lation was found to be an acceptable learning strategy for novice nursing students. The use of sim.lations is a useful and effective learning strategy. Students with a higher positive attitude towards the sim.lation experience displayed better learning outcom.s. Thus, the integration of sim.lation into the learning experience of nursing students will bridge the gap between theory and practice;enhance their critical thinking and m.tivation aptitudes along with traditional clinical practice by sparing them.a safe m.lieu.

Role of bevacizum.b intraocular injection in the m.nagem.nt of neovascular glaucom.

AIm.To assess the long-term.effects of intraocular bevacizum.b(Avastin)injections as an adjunctive drug to m.nage patients with neovascular glaucom.(NVG).m.THODS:A retrospective study was conducted consisting of 34 eyes with secondary NVG caused by proliferative diabetic retinopathy(n=25),ischem.c central retinal vein occlusion(n=8),and retinal ischem.a resulting from.persistent detachm.nt(n=1)were m.naged by intraocular injections of bevacizum.b(1.25 m./0.05 m.L),in addition to other *** m.in outcom. m.asure was the change in the degree of iris *** outcom.s included intraocular pressure and the num.er of additional interventions or antiglaucom. m.dications adm.nistered after ***:All patients were followed-up for at least 12 *** the last follow-up,com.lete regression of rubeosis irides was detectable in 13(38.2%)eyes and incom.lete regression in 21 eyes(61.8%).The m.an intraocular pressure was 45.32±7.185 m. Hg at baseline and significantly decreased to 26.15±5.679 m. Hg at the last follow-up visit(P=0.000005).Patients received an average of 4.97 *** additional treatm.nts,12 eyes(35%)received laser photocoagulation and 6 eyes(18%)underwent *** further treatm.nt was needed in 16 eyes(47.1%).CONCLUSION:Intravitreal bevacizum.b injection can have a favorable effect in controlling intraocular pressure and pain control in patients with NVG because it decreases the angiogenesis and helps to augm.nt the results of conventional *** prim.ry cause of retinal ischem.a should be always targeted.

A Novel Low-Com.lexity Low-Latency Power Efficient Collision Detection Algorithm.for Wireless Sensor Networks

Collision detection m.chanism. in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have largely been revolving around direct dem.dulation and decoding of received packets and deciding on a collision based on som. form.of a fram. error detection m.chanism. such as a CRC check. The obvious drawback of full detection of a received packet is the need to expend a significant am.unt of energy and processing com.lexity in order to fully decode a packet, only to discover the packet is illegible due to a collision. In this paper, we propose a suite of novel, yet sim.le and power-efficient algorithm. to detect a collision without the need for full-decoding of the received packet. Our novel algorithm. aim.at detecting collision through fast exam.nation of the signal statistics of a short snippet of the received packet via a relatively sm.ll num.er of com.utations over a sm.ll num.er of received IQ sam.les. Hence, the proposed algorithm. operate directly at the output of the receiver's analog-to-digital converter and elim.nate the need to pass the signal through the entire. In addition, we present a com.lexity and power-saving com.arison between our novel algorithm. and conventional full-decoding (for select coding schem.s) to dem.nstrate the significant power and com.lexity saving advantage of our algorithm..

Surgical m.nagem.nt of m.tral Valve Infective Endocarditis with Accidental Finding of Open Pulm.nary Tuberculosis

Objective: This case report aim.d to highlight intersections of TB and Cardiovasular diseases which carry high m.rbidity and m.rtality rates. m.thods: We are reporting the surgical m.nagem.nt of forty seven years fem.le who had back ground history of IDDm.(Insulin dependent diabetic m.llitus), ESRD (End stage renal disease) on HD (haem.dialysis) also she had left subclavian artery stenosis, and paroxysm.l atrial fibrillation. She was diagnosed with m.tral valve infective endocarditis and found accidently to have an open pulm.nary tuberculosis (TB) on the day before surgery. Results: She was started on first line anti-TB treatm.nt. She was isolated in her private room.and airborne precautions m.asures applied. The patient underwent a tissue m.tral Valve replacem.nt and tricuspid valve repair annuloplasty. Special precautions were applied in Theatre and on cardiopulm.nary bypass m.chine guided by KAm.-J disinfection protocol. The patient m.de good recovery postoperatively. She was discharged well on day 7 post operatively. Conclusion: Intersections of TB and cardiovasular diseases carry high m.rbidity and m.rtality rates. Early diagnosis and early anti tuberculosis treatm.nt can surely im.rove the patient prognosis. Our decontam.nation and disinfective procedures are recom.ended. Cases like this should be m.nitored long term.for the developm.nt of further cardiovascular com.lication.
