Understanding aerosol-vegeta.ion interactions is vital in ***,the interactions remain elusive partly due to the lack of suitable plant growth chamber ***,deposition of submicron particles on leaf surfaces is challenging due to its low deposition velocities compared to larger *** this work,we present a plant-growth chamber that was used to study the effect of sub-micron black carbon(BC)particles on the growth and photosynthesis of *** chamber system simultaneously enables the growth of multiple plants in pots and the deposition of submicron particles onto *** spra.ing methods assisted by ultrasonic and electrosta.ic forces were employed as aerosol generators to rea.ize the particle *** flow regime inside the chamber was numeri-cally calculated to predict the transporta.ion of aerosol particles,suggesting the optimal opera.ing conditions of the *** gas-phase particle size distribution measurements showed that gener-ated BC particles were suspended in submicron diameter *** aerosol generators were exa.ined in the chamber using three conductor and insulator substrates as a model of plant *** observa.ions and spectroscopic analysis ascertained that submicron BC particles generated from our generators were deposited on all substrate *** the developed chamber system,systema.ic studies can be performed to advance the fundamental understanding of aerosol-vegeta.ion interactions.

Water-soluble lignin-carbohydrate complex(LCC)rich in polysaccha.ides exhibits benign in vitro antioxidant activities and distinguishes high biocompa.ibility from lignin-rich LCC and ***,the antioxidant activity of water-soluble LCCs remains to be improved and its structure-antioxidant rela.ionship is still ***,structurally diversified water-soluble LCCs were isolated under different ball-milling pretreatment dura.ions(4,6,8 h),extraction pathways(ho-mogeneous and heterogeneous),and isola.ion routines(water extracts and residues after water extraction).Their structures were characterized by wet chemistry,chromatography and *** activities were evaluated by ferric reducing antioxidant power and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl ra.icals scavenging rate(RDPPH).Results show that altering ball-milling dura.ion and isola.ion procedures cause va.ied structures and antioxidant activities of the water-soluble ***,prolonging ball-milling dura.ion to 8 hours and homogeneous extrac-tion can enhance their antioxidant activity through relea.ing more phenolic structures and pro-moting the extraction of high-molecular-weight LCCs via reducing mass-transfer resistance,*** a result,the RDPPH of water-soluble LCCs reaches up to 97.35%,which is associated with the ara.inan content with sta.istical significance(Pis study provides new insights into the structure-antioxida.ion rela.ionship of herbaceous LCC as potential antioxidants.

Testing rocket and space technology objects in ground conditions for resistance to the impact of meteoroids and fragments of space debris can be carried out using shaped charges. To substantiate the design parameters of shaped charges that ensure the forma.ion of aluminum particles in a wide velocity range(from 2.5 to 16 km/s), numerical modeling of the forma.ion process was carried out within the framework of a two-dimensional a.isymmetric problem of continuum mecha.ics using three different computing codes to increase the relia.ility of the results. The calcula.ions consider shaped charges with a diameter of 20-100 mm with aluminum liners of va.ious shapes. it is shown that the forma.ion of particles with velocities close to the lower limit of the considered range is ensured by gently sloping segmental liners of degressive thickness. To form higher-velocity particles with velocities over 5 km/s, it is proposed to use combined liners, the jet-forming part of which has the shape of a hemisphere of constant thickness or the shape of a semi-ellipsoid or semi-superellipsoid of rota.ion of degressive thickness.

Background: Renal osteodystrophy (ROD) is a bone disorder resulting from chronic kidney disease (CKD) and related metabolic diseases. Dickkopf-related protein-1 (DKK-1) is critical in regula.ing bone biology. This study aimed to evaluate the serum DKK-1 level as a bone marker in children with CKD who undergo regular hemodialysis (HD). Subjects and Methods: This case-control study involved 40 children with CKD on HD and 40 healthy children as controls. The study measured serum DKK-1 levels and performed a dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scan (DEXA) in line with routine laboratory investiga.ions. Results: There was a significant increase in the serum level of DKK-1 in the pa.ient group compared to the control group. The DKK-1 levels were 2540.65 (2215.4 - 2909.2) pg/ml and 1110.45 (885.45 - 1527.65) pg/ml, respectively, with a p-value of less than 0.001. in the hemodialysis group, 25 pa.ients (62.5%) had low bone mineral density (BMD) with a Z-score of under -2.0. Eighteen of these pa.ients had low BMD in both the neck of the femur and lumbar spines. Additionally, there was a significant increase in serum DKK-1 level in pa.ients with low BMD (2567.35 (2303.8 - 3108.1) pg/ml) compared to pa.ients with normal BMD (2454 (1859 - 2820) pg/ml) (p = 0.041). There was also a significant positive correla.ion between DKK1 level and phosphorus, alka.ine phosphatase, and Parathormone serum levels. in conclusion, the study indicates a clear correla.ion between DKK-1 and BMD in children undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. DKK1 is a promising biomarker for CKD-MBD.

Purpose:it is aimed to assess whether school uniforms are associated with popula.ion-level gender inequa.ities in physical activity,and whether associa.ions differ by school level,country/region income,and assessment ***:An ecological study design was *** collected data about global uniform practices using an online *** searched for country/region-level estimates of school-aged youth meeting physical activity guidelines from interna.ional surveillance *** selection was conducted in duplicate using a systema.ic process,and a random sample of all data was checked to ensure extraction and pooling processes were *** calculated absolute and rela.ive gender inequa.ities in physical activity for each *** regression exa.ined associa.ions between country/region-level uniform practices(binary yes/no exposure va.iable) and country/region-level gender inequa.ities in physical activity guideline compliance(absolute and rela.ive inequa.ities).We investigated modera.ion by school level,stra.ified analyses by income group,and repeated primary analyses using device-measured ***:Pooling data from 135 countries/regions(n=1,089,852),we found no associa.ion between popula.ion-level uniform practices and gender inequa.ities in physical activity across all ages(absolute:β=-0.2;95% confidence interval(95%Ci):-1.7 to 1.3,p=0.74;rela.ive:β=0.1;95%Ci:-0.1 to 0.2,p=0.51).Subgroup analysis suggested a positive associa.ion in primary school settings(absolute:β=4.3;95%Ci:-0.0 to 8.6,p=0.05).Among high-income countries,absolute inequa.ities were significantly greater in countries/regions with uniform practices(N=37) compared to those without(N=48)(9.1(SD=3.6) vs.7.8 percentage points(SD=4.3)).Repea.ing analyses using device-measured data(n=32,130;N=24) did not alter our primary *** initial descriptive sta.istics,we found that in countries/regions where a maj ority of schools(>50%) reportedly use uniforms,there was lower compli

A common reclama.ion practice for closed coal surface mines is filling them with water to form pit *** crea.ion and sustaina.ility of these lakes are significantly affected by the sta.ility of the corresponding *** present study provides a general framework for analyzing the water filling’s effect on slope sta.ility based on a new water filling index,which can indirectly consider the factors affecting the process and efficiently quantify the filling speed’s *** assumptions of the proposed approach are thoroughly discussed,and the range of the water filling index is ***,the safety factor is calculated using the finite element method with the shear strength reduction technique during the filling process for va.ious conditions(soil properties,slope geometry,hydraulic conditions,and water filling speed).Results are presented as norma.ized sta.ility charts for practical *** the water filling,the sta.ility gradually decreases until the reservoir reaches a critical level of 10%e40%of the total height;it then increases to even more stable conditions than the initial ***,the present analysis allows for the preliminary sta.ility evalua.ion of a coal mine during the forma.ion of a pit lake and the appropriate quantifica.ion of the water filling’s effect.
