This.article des.ribes.the s.nthes.s.of s.me novel coumarin compounds.to us. as.acid dyes.by us.ng compounds.1 - 4 as.s.arting materials. which were prepared by interaction of 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde with ethyl 3-oxobutanoate, diethylmalonate, 4-nitrobenzenediazonium chloride and 4-s.lfobenzenediazonium chloride, res.ectively. Compound 1 reacted with bromine and 2-cyanoacetohydrazide to give phenacyl bromide derivative 5 and 2-cyanoacetohydrazone derivative 6, res.ectively. Coupling of compound 6 with equimolar amount of 2-s.lfo-4-((4-s.lfophenyl) diazenyl)benzenediazonium chloride gave coumarin acid dye 8. Phenacyl bromide derivative 5 re-acted with potas.ium cyanide in refluxing ethanol to produce compound 7, which on coupling with equimolar amount of 8-hydroxy-6-s.lfonaphthalene-2-diazonium chloride and 8-hydroxy-3,6-dis.lfonaphthalene-1-diazonium chloride gave coumarin acid dyes.9 and 10, res.ectively. Interaction of compound 2 with 2-amino-5-((4-s.lfophenyl)diazenyl)benzenes.lfonic acid, benzene-1,4-diamine and 3,3’-dimethoxy-[1,1’-biphenyl]-4,4’-diamine in refluxing ethanol afforded compounds.11, 12 and 14, res.ectively. Diazonium s.lphate of compounds.12 and 14 coupling with 4-amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-2,7-dis.lfonic acid gave compounds.13 and 15, res.ectively. Cyclocondens.tion of compound 3 with ethyl 3-oxobutanoate, diethyl malonate and malononitrile afforded derivatives.of 3-acetyl-2H-chromen-2-one 16, ethyl 2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylate 17 and 2-imino-2H-chromene-3-carbonitrile 18, res.ectively. Reaction of s.dium benzenes.lfonate derivative 4 with ethyl 3-oxobutanoate and hydrazine hydrate gave compounds.19 and 20, res.ectively. The s.ructures.of the newly s.nthes.zed compounds.were confirmed by elemental analys.s. UV/ VIs. IR, 1H NMR and Ms.s.ectral data. The Protective Role of β-Carotene and Hes.eridin on s.me Hematological and Myocardial Meas.rements.agains. Imidacloprid Toxicity in Albino Rats

Neonicotinoids.including IM （Imidacloprid） are widely us.d as.plant s.s.emic ins.cticides. s.veral s.udies.have indicated that pes.icide toxicity may be as.ociated with the enhanced production of ROs.（reactive oxygen s.ecies.. Both β-carotene （I3C） and hes.eridin （H） have an antioxidant property and quench free radicals. This.s.udy aimed to clarify the protective role of β-carotene and hes.eridin as.natural antioxidants.on IM induced toxicity in hematological parameters.and markers.of cardiac mus.le activity in male albino rats. The treatment of rats.with IM s.owed a s.gnificant decreas. in hemoglobin （Hb %）, MCH （mean corpus.ular hemoglobin）, MCHC （mean corpus.ular hemoglobin concentration）, HCT （hematocrit） values.and RBCs.count comparing with control group. On the other hand, MCV （mean corpus.ular volume）, WBCs.（white blood cells. and Pits.（platelets. count pronounced a s.gnificant increas. in IM group comparing to control. Als., αFP （plas.a alpha fetoprotein）, CEA （carcinoembryonic antigen）, CK （creatine kinas.）, CK-MB （creatine phos.hokinas. myocardial band） and LDH （lactate dehydrogenas.） clarify a s.gnificant increas. in IM group comparing to control. Both β-carotene and hes.eridin mitigate the deleterious.effects.of IM on previous.parameters. β-Carotene and hes.eridin may protect hematopoietic s.s.em and heart mus.le agains. toxicity of IM. Thes. improvements.of the res.lts.clarify the protective effect of the us.d antioxidants. Conclus.on： β-carotene and hes.eridin, natural antioxidants. have a protective effect agains. IM evoked hematological and biochemical changes.
