Unveiling the intrinsic properties of single NiZnFeO_x entity for promoting electrocatalytic oxygen evolution

Although considerable research efforts have been devoted to the design and development of non-noble electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction(OER), substantial enhancement of OER performance with commercial-scale water electrolysis remains a big challenge. This could result from the difficulties in detecting the intrinsic properties and overlooking the assembly process for electrochemical OER process. Here, we employ a microjet collision method to investigate the intrinsic OER activities of individual NiZnFeO_x entities with and without a moderate magnetic field. Our results demonstrate that single NiZnFeO_x nanoparticles(NPs) show the excellent OER performance with a lowest onset potential(~1.35 V vs. RHE) and a greatest magnetic enhancement(~118%) among bulk materials, single agglomerations and NPs. Furthermore, we explore the utility of theoretical investigation by density functional theory(DFT)calculations for studying OER process on NiZnFeO_x surfaces without and with spin alignment, indicating monodispersed NiZnFeO_xNPs with totally spin alignment facilitates the OER process under the external magnetic field. it is found that the well-dispersion of NiZnFeO_x NPs would increase the electrical conductivity and the surface spin state, resulting in promoting their OER activities. This work provides a test for uncovering the essential roles of NPs assembly to a significant promotion of their magnet-assisted OER.

in this study,we conducted a search for dark matter using a part of the data recorded by the CMS experiment during run-i of the LHC in 2012 with a center of mass energy of 8 TeV and an integrated luminosity of 11.6 fb−*** data were gathered from the CMS open *** matter,in the framework of the simplified model(mono-Z′),can be produced from proton-proton collisions in association with a new hypothetical gauge boson,Z′.Thus,the search was conducted in the dimuon plus large missing transverse momentum *** benchmark scenario of mono-Z′,which is known as light vector,was used for interpreting the CMS open *** evidence of dark matter was observed,and exclusion limits were set on the masses of dark matter and Z′at 95%confidence level.

Artificial intelligence (Ai) has become increasingly important in geothermal exploration,significantly improving the efficiency of resource *** review examines current Ai applications,focusing on the algorithms used,the challenges addressed,and the opportunities *** addition,the review highlights the growth of machine learning applications in geothermal exploration over the past decade,demonstrating how Ai has improved the analysis of subsurface data to identify potential *** techniques such as neural networks,support vector machines,and decision trees are used to estimate subsurface temperatures,predict rock and fluid properties,and identify optimal drilling *** particular,neural networks are the most widely used technique,further contributing to improved exploration ***,the widespread adoption of Ai in geothermal exploration is hindered by challenges,such as data accessibility,data quality,and the need for tailored data science training for industry ***,the review emphasizes the importance of data engineering methodologies,data scaling,and standardization to enable the development of accurate and generalizable Ai models for geothermal *** is concluded that the integration of Ai into geothermal exploration holds great promise for accelerating the development of geothermal energy *** effectively addressing key challenges and leveraging Ai technologies,the geothermal industry can unlock cost‐effective and sustainable power generation opportunities.

Explainable Conformer Network for Detection of COViD-19 Pneumonia from Chest CT Scan: From Concepts toward Clinical Explainability

The early implementation of treatment therapies necessitates the swift and precise identification of COViD-19 pneumonia by the analysis of chest CT *** study aims to investigate the indispensable need for precise and interpretable diagnostic tools for improving clinical decision-making for COViD-19 *** paper proposes a novel deep learning approach,called Conformer Network,for explainable discrimination of viral pneumonia depending on the lung Region of infections(ROi)within a single modality radiographic CT ***,an efficient U-shaped transformer network is integrated for lung image ***,a robust transfer learning technique is introduced to design a robust feature extractor based on pre-trained lightweight Big Transfer(BiT-L)and finetuned on medical data to effectively learn the patterns of infection in the input ***,this work presents a visual explanation method to guarantee clinical explainability for decisions made by Conformer *** evaluation of real-world CT data demonstrated that the diagnostic accuracy of ourmodel outperforms cutting-edge studies with statistical *** Conformer Network achieves 97.40% of detection accuracy under cross-validation *** model not only achieves high sensitivity and specificity but also affords visualizations of salient features contributing to each classification decision,enhancing the overall transparency and trustworthiness of our *** findings provide obvious implications for the ability of our model to empower clinical staff by generating transparent intuitions about the features driving diagnostic decisions.

Application of Synthetic iron Oxyhydroxide with influencing Factors for Removal of As(Ⅴ) and As(Ⅲ) from Groundwater

Synthesized iron oxyhydroxide was applied for the adsorptive removal of As(V)and As(iii)from the aquas ***,this investigation highlighted the synergistic effect of calcium carbonate in conjunction with iron oxyhydroxide,resulting in enhanced removal *** experiment was conducted under various conditions:concentration,dosage,pH,agitation,and *** characterizations such as Brunauer Emmett Teller,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were implied to understand adsorption *** Langmuir model revealed optimal concentrations for As(V)=500μg/L at pH-5 and As(iii)=200μg/L at pH-7,resulting in 95%and 93%adsorption efficiencies,*** adsorption capacities“qm”were found to be 1266.943μg/g for As(V)and 1080.241μg/g for As(iii).Freundlich model demonstrated favorable adsorption by indicating“n>1”such as As(V)=2.542 and As(iii)=2.707;similarly,the speciation factor“RLies as As(V)=0.1 and As(iii)=0.5,*** kinetic study presented a pseudo-second-order model as best fitted,indicating throughout chemisorption processes for removing As(V)and As(iii).Furthermore,incorporating calcium carbonate presented a significant leap in the removal efficiency,indicating As(V)from 95%to 98%and As(iii)from 93%to 96%,*** findings offer profound motivation for developing effective and sustainable solutions to tackle arsenic contamination,underscoring the exceptional promise of iron oxyhydroxide in conjunction with calcium carbonate to achieve maximum removal efficiency.

人工智能的发展正在改变材料科学领域.然而,大规模材料数据集中存在错误数据以及利用机器学习预测与温度相关的性质时出现过拟合等挑战.本文以热电材料为例,首先采取一系列合理的方法删除问题数据,从Starrydata2数据库中获得包括7295种成分在不同温度下的92,291个数据.然后,提出了一种基于成分的交叉验证方法避免过拟合.进而,使用梯度提升决策树方法构建了机器学习模型,并获得了显著的R2.最后,使用该模型对Materials Project数据库中的材料进行评估,Ge2Te5As2和Ge3(Te3As)2表现出较高的zT值.理论计算得到n型和p型Ge2Te5As2的最大zT值为1.98和2.12,n型和p型Ge3(Te3As)2的最大zT值为0.58和0.74,表明它们是有潜力的热电材料.本工作提出了一个处理和克服材料科学中的人工智能大数据挑战的示例.

Unraveling the nature of sensing in electrostatic MEMS gas sensors

This paper investigates the fundamental sensing mechanism of electrostatic MEMS gas *** compares among the responsivities of a set of MEMS isopropanol sensors before and after functionalization,and in the presence and absence of electrostatic fields when operated in static and dynamic detection *** the static mode,we found that the sensors do not exhibit a measurable change in displacement due to added *** the other hand,bare sensors showed a clear change in displacement in response to isopropanol *** the dynamic mode,functionalized sensors showed a measurable frequency shift due to the added mass of isopropanol *** the presence of strong electrostatic fields,the measured frequency shift was found to be threefold larger than that in their absence in response to the same concentration of isopropanol *** enhanced responsivity of dynamic detection allows the sensors to measure the vapor mass captured by the functional material,which is not the case for static *** detection of isopropanol by bare sensors in static mode shows that change in the medium permittivity is the primary sensing *** enhanced responsivity of dynamic mode sensors when operated in strong electrostatic fields shows that their sensing mechanism is a combination of a weaker added mass effect and a stronger permittivity *** findings show that electrostatic MEMS gas sensors are independent of the direction of the gravitational field and are,thus,robust to changes in *** is erroneous to refer to them as‘gravimetric’sensors.

The primary varicella-zoster virus(VzV)infection that causes chickenpox(also known as varicella),spreads quickly among people and,in severe circumstances,can cause to fever and *** this paper,the Mittag-Leffler fractional operator is used to examine the mathematical representation of the *** fractional-order differential equations are created in terms of the disease's dynamical analysis such as S:Susceptible,V:Vaccinated,E:Exposed,i:infectious and R:*** derive the existence criterion,positive solution,Hyers-Ulam stability,and boundedness of results in order to examine the suggested fractional-order model's ***,some numerical examples for the VzV model of various fractional orders are shown with the aid of the generalized Adams-Bashforth-Moulton approach to show the viability of the obtained results.
