Objective:To evaluate the in vivo acute toxicity and antioxidant activity of the marine endophytic fungus extract S2 isolated from Turbinaria ***:Two doses(100 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg)of the S2 extract were administered to rats orally for acute toxicity and antioxidant *** body weight,relative weight of six organs,haematological,biochemical and antioxidant properties were investigated on Day ***:A single oral dose treatment did not cause any mortality or observable adverse effects in *** significant variations in the body and organ weights between the control and the treated groups were *** analysis and clinical blood chemistry also did not reveal any toxic effects of the *** total white blood cell count and haemoglobin levels were *** levels of total serum cholesterol in males treated with 100 and 400 mg/kg were significantly(P<0.05)decreased(1.28 and 1.34 mmol/L respectively)compared to control(1.55 mmol/L)***,neither gross abnormalities nor histopathological changes were *** study showed strong evidence of the non-toxic effects of S2 *** the extract exhibited significant(P<0.05)antioxidant activity through increased levels of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase enzy mes in serum,liver and ***:The research findings from the present study showed the potential of marine natural products particularly in Malaysia as a source of bioactive *** endophytic fungi as a potential source of anticancer drugs with great potential as they are potent yet safe,thus deserving further extensive investigation.

Square Wave Voltammetric Behavior of N,N-DiethyI-P-Nitroso Aniline an Indirect Method for Determination of Chlorpheniramin Maleate, Application of Pharmaceutical Formulations

The electrochemical behavior of N,N-diethyl-p-nitroso aniline was carried out using SWV （square wave voltammetric） at HMDE. A well defined reduction peak was observed at （-0.214） volt versus the reference electrode （Ag/AgC1/sat. KCI）, calibration curve was constructed in phosphate buffer （pH = 7.0）, the relationship is linear within the concentration range 1.283 × 10.5 M - 3.66 × 10.5 M with the correlation （R = 0.9923）. The serial addition ofCPM （chlorpheniramine maleate） leads to the decrease in the reduction current peak （Ip）, quantitatively, the plot of Alp （Ip - Ip） where, Ip： Peak current of N, N-diethyl-p-nitroso aniline alone, lp： peak current of N,N-diethyl-p-nitroso aniline in the presence of CPM, versus concentration is linear within the concentration range 0.984 × 10-6 M - 9.756 × 10-6 M, the correlation coefficient was 0.9954. The method was successfully applied to determine CPM in different types of pharmaceutical formulations, and compared with standard method from British Pharmacopeia [1].

The Additional Value of Cystoscopy with Urodynamic Study in the Assessment of Patients with Urinary Incontinence

Background: Urinary incontinence (UI) is generally defined as the involuntary loss of urine from the bladder through the urethral meatus. Filling cystometry is the method by which the pressure/ volume relationship of the bladder is measured during bladder filling. Purpose: To determine the value of diagnostic cystoscopy in addition to Urodynamic study (UDS) in patients with primary urinary incontinence. Material and Methods: 200 patients with primary incontinence studied prospectively from January 2013 to June 2014. Their age ranges from (14 - 93 years), 86.5% were female, and 13.5% of them were male. In addition to physical, neurological examination and bio-chemical investigations, urine analysis and urine culture with Ultra-sound and Post void residual volume (PVRV), all patients underwent diagnosticflexible cystoscopy under local anesthesia, and urodynamic study. Result: 43.5% of patients age were between (34 - 53 years), (39%) between (54 - 73 years), (9%) between (14 - 33 years) and (8.5%) were between (74 - 93 years). Atonic bladder on UDS were (40.5%), Detrusor over activity (29%), patients with normal UDS were (22%) and patients that had DSD (Detrusor Sphincter Dyssynergia) were (8.5%). Eighty-four cases (42%) were found to have normal cystoscopy, those with grade-I-II bladder wall trabeculations were (49%) and patients with grade-III were (8.5%). Sixty-one patients (30.5%) with normal diagnostic cystoscopy have abnormal UDS (Atonic bladder, over-active bladder and DSD) while twenty-one (10.5%) patients with normal UDS had bladder wall trabeculations (grade-I-III) on diagnostic cystoscopy. Conclusion: Diagnostic cystoscopy in addition to urodynamic study will put in further knowledge in the assessment of patients with urinary incontinence. To some extent, it can predict the diagnosis.

该综述的目的是描述儿童新型冠状病毒肺炎(coronavirus disease 2019,COVID-19)的临床特征,重点探讨儿童不易感染COVID-19的可能原因,以及儿童免疫反应是否比成人更好。为此,确定了以下3个研究问题:(1)为什么儿童COVID-19病例临床症状较成人轻?(2)儿童COVID-19患者的临床表现、诊断和治疗如何?(3)痊愈后病毒排毒期持续多久?我们检索了MEDLINE、Embase、Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials和Cochrane Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects等数据库,以及有英文翻译的国外文献。并从谷歌学术和美国微生物学会收集了其他的信息和数据。从收集的文献中,提取患者的年龄、合并症、治疗方法及对病死率、发病率影响的相关信息。该综述表明,与成人相比,儿童不易患COVID-19,若患上COVID-19,其症状较成人轻。儿童COVID-19发病率较低,病情较成人轻,这可能归因于许多理论和原因,然而所涉及的机制尚不完全清楚。
