Cloud computing environments,characterized by dynamic scaling,distributed architectures,and complex work-loads,are increasingly targeted by malicious *** threats encompass unauthorized access,data breaches,denial-of-service attacks,and evolving malware *** security solutions often struggle with the dynamic nature of cloud environments,highlighting the need for robust Adaptive Cloud Intrusion Detection Systems(CIDS).Existing adaptive CIDS solutions,while offering improved detection capabilities,often face limitations such as reliance on approximations for change point detection,hindering their precision in identifying *** can lead to missed attacks or an abundance of false alarms,impacting overall security *** address these challenges,we propose ACIDS(Adaptive Cloud Intrusion Detection System)-*** novel Adaptive CIDS framework leverages the Pruned Exact Linear Time(PELT)algorithm and a Support Vector Machine(SVM)for enhanced accuracy and ***-PELT comprises four key components:(1)Feature Selection:Utilizing a hybrid harmony search algorithm and the symmetrical uncertainty filter(HSO-SU)to identify the most relevant features that effectively differentiate between normal and anomalous network traffic in the cloud environment.(2)Surveillance:Employing the PELT algorithm to detect change points within the network traffic data,enabling the identification of anomalies and potential security threats with improved precision compared to existing approaches.(3)Training Set:Labeled network traffic data forms the training set used to train the SVM classifier to distinguish between normal and anomalous behaviour patterns.(4)Testing Set:The testing set evaluates ACIDS-PELT’s performance by measuring its accuracy,precision,and recall in detecting security threats within the cloud *** evaluate the performance of ACIDS-PELT using the NSL-KDD benchmark *** results demonstrate that ACIDS-PELT outperf

The rapid growth of Internet of Things(IoT)devices has brought numerous benefits to the interconnected ***,the ubiquitous nature of IoT networks exposes them to various security threats,including anomaly intrusion *** addition,IoT devices generate a high volume of unstructured *** intrusion detection systems often struggle to cope with the unique characteristics of IoT networks,such as resource constraints and heterogeneous data *** the unpredictable nature of network technologies and diverse intrusion methods,conventional machine-learning approaches seem to lack *** numerous research domains,deep learning techniques have demonstrated their capability to precisely detect *** study designs and enhances a novel anomaly-based intrusion detection system(AIDS)for IoT ***,a Sparse Autoencoder(SAE)is applied to reduce the high dimension and get a significant data representation by calculating the reconstructed ***,the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)technique is employed to create a binary classification *** proposed SAE-CNN approach is validated using the Bot-IoT *** proposed models exceed the performance of the existing deep learning approach in the literature with an accuracy of 99.9%,precision of 99.9%,recall of 100%,F1 of 99.9%,False Positive Rate(FPR)of 0.0003,and True Positive Rate(TPR)of *** addition,alternative metrics,such as training and testing durations,indicated that SAE-CNN performs better.

Introduction and Significance: Burn injury (BI) is a considerable health issue which is responsible for around 300,000 deaths and affecting about 11 million people every year worldwide. In Saudi Arabia, the prevalence of BIs array from 112 to 518 per 100,000 per year. The appropriate awareness of performing first aid could facilitate to improve the outcomes of burns. Purpose and Objectives: To appraise the community that acknowledges burns, first aid, and associated factors among the community population in Jazan City, Saudi Arabia. The paper aims to identify limitations to encourage additional research and persuade legislators to develop improved burn-injury care recommendations and training programs. Materials and Methods: An observational-based sample survey was conducted among the people who live in Jazan City aging 13 years or more, during April 5 to May 5, 2023. Data collection was done by a validated online self-administrated questionnaire sent randomly to community members in different parts of Jazan City via social media platforms. Collected data were coded and cleaned by an excel program, and finally exported on SPSS 26.0 software. The variables were analyzed using descriptive statistics like frequencies and percentages. Also, the Chi-square test was used to investigate the relation between different variables, with a significance value of P Results: This study included 243 participants (about 62%) among them were mostly male participants (151) having a university degree. The majority of participants 75% did not take any form of BFA training in the past. This study shows that 69.9% of the participants have inadequate awareness, despite 72% having a constructive attitude towards burn first aid. Previous burn-related first aid training was significantly associated with participants’ knowledge of BFA at a p-value less than 0.05. Nutrient dynamics in the Sundarbans mangrove estuarine system of Bangladesh under different weather and tidal cycles

Introduction:Seasonal and tidal variations in nutrient concentration and water quality were investigated in the western Sundarbans of Bangladesh during the post-monsoon,winter and monsoon seasons during 2010–***:Water collected from the surface,middle and bottom layers at six locations of the Kholpetua-Arpangashia river system during high and low tides was analyzed for temperature,salinity,pH,dissolved oxygen(DO),total dissolved solids(TDS),electrical conductivity(EC)and dissolved nutrients(NO3–N,PO4–P,SO4 and NH3–N).Results:The study revealed that nutrient concentrations were influenced by seasonal *** nutrient levels during post-monsoon,winter and monsoon seasons,respectively,were in the following ranges:nitrate(0.06–0.40,0.06–0.46 and 0.08–0.46 mg/L);phosphate(0.09–0.18,0.05–0.42 and 0.10–0.16 mg/L);sulphate(58.71–86.14,68.68–119.01 and 78.15–136.47 mg/L)and ammonia(0.02–0.08,0.02–0.04 and 0.26–0.38 mg/L).Increased levels of PO4–P,SO4 and NH3–N and lower DO and salinity were recorded during the monsoon *** of the experimental sites showed higher NO3–N content during monsoon,whereas few elevated concentrations were observed during post-monsoon and winter *** and low tidal waters contained mean nutrient levels in the following ranges:nitrate(0.05–0.46 and 0.04–0.40 mg/L);phosphate(0.05–0.42 and 0.07–0.18 mg/L);sulphate(63.63–125.36 and 58.71–136.47 mg/L)and ammonia(0.02–0.38 and 0.02–0.37 mg/L)without following any distinct fluctuation *** western part of the Sundarbans receives less freshwater input during the monsoon season than other areas of the ecosystem,which reduces the variability of nutrient levels and water quality ***:This study provides considerable advances in understanding the seasonality of nutrient distribution with possible tidal *** data generated from this study will guide continuing efforts to support a sound management for coastal mangrove ecosystems.

Seasonal nutrient distribution in the Rupsha-Passur tidal river system of the Sundarbans mangrove forest,Bangladesh

Introduction:The Rupsha-Passur River System(RS)is one of the biggest and important river systems in the Sundarbans estuarine *** is the largest fresh water supplier into this mangrove forest.A comprehensive study was undertaken to evaluate the tidal and seasonal variations in nutrient concentrations(nitrate,phosphate,sulphate and ammonia)of the RS during October,2010(Post monsoon),February,2011(Dry winter)and August 2011(Monsoon).In-situ measurement and laboratory analysis were conducted to measure nutrients and other physico-chemical parameters at discrete water layers of five study points under different tidal ***:Following post monsoon,NH3–N concentration showed seasonal variation with increasing trend(0.0703 to 0.0803 mg/L)in dry winter and then significant dropping(0.013 to 0.019 mg/L)in monsoon *** field observation,no significant tidal variation in ammonia concentration was identified among the study *** monsoon and winter time observation recorded lower SO4 content(7.301 to 37.508 mg/L)at all the sampling stations while in monsoon period,most of the stations showed higher concentration up to 126.92 mg/*** to post monsoon season with comparatively higher PO4–P value(0.314 to 1.347 mg/L),winter and monsoon period sampling indicated low phosphate concentrations(0.045 to 0.5 mg/L)in the Rupsha-Passur *** of the study sites showed considerable tidal changes in phosphate value during post monsoon and monsoon season while only two stations went through tidal fluctuation in sulphate content during monsoon *** of NO3–N were found to fluctuate between 0.083 and 1.233 mg/L with no distinct seasonal distribution *** variation of NO3–N in the experimental sites was not so prominent during post monsoon period as of winter ***:Present study will serve as a basis for future hydrological and environmental studies in the world’s largest Sundarbans intertidal mangrove *** results i

The Development of ZnO Nanoparticle Coated Cotton Fabrics for Antifungal and Antibacterial Applications

In the textile industry, cotton is the most popular choice among all the natural fibers due to its unique properties such as softness, affinity to skin, biodegradability, absorbency, and moisture being comfortable to wear. Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) were produced and coated on cotton fabrics. The concentration of Zinc acetate was varied. 2-methoxy-ethanol has been used as a solvent. Using the dip coating technique, ZnO NPs have been coated on the cotton fabric in different mole concentrations. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Ultraviolet Visible (UV-VIS) spectroscopy, the antifungal and antibacterial activity of the ZnO NPs was performed on the coated fabrics. The SEM images depicted that the nanoparticles are well dispersed on the fabric at 3M concentration of ZnO solution. It was found that the UV absorbance increases with the increase of concentration up to 2M concentration and after that it decreases. It was also found that maximum antibacterial and antifungal activity is at 2M concentration.

Validation and reproducibility of the Heidelberg Edge Perimeter in the detection of glaucomatous visual field defects

AIM: To validate the ability of the Heidelberg Edge Perimeter(HEP) in detecting glaucomatous visual field(VF) defects compared to the Octopus Visual Field(OVF) Analyzer and to determine the test-retest repeatability of both ***: This prospective, cross-sectional study was conducted at Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Glaucoma subjects and unaffected controls underwent VF testing using HEP standard automated perimetry(SAP) Ⅲ 30-2 Adaptive Staircase Thresholding Algorithm(ASTA) FAST protocol and OVF G-TOP white-on-white strategy. Testing order was randomized. Pearson's correlation coefficient was calculated for both mean deviation(md) and pattern standard deviation/square root of loss of variance(PSD/s LV). Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were used to determine the diagnostic abilities of both modalities. Glaucoma subjects returned for repeat testing and intraclass correlation coefficients(ICCs) were calculated to assess test-retest repeatability. RESULTS: Seventy-nine subjects with glaucoma and 36 unaffected controls were enrolled. HEP and OVF were significantly correlated for both md(r=-0.84; Pmd(0.74 and 0.79, respectively; P=0.26) and PSD/sL V(0.74 and 0.82; P=0.08). ICC was high for both HEP (0.96 for md, 0.95 for PSD/s LV) and OVF(0.82 and 0.88, respectively). Mean test duration(min) was significantly shorter for OVF(2.63) compared to HEP(5.15; Pmd and PSD/s LV, and have similar validity for detecting glaucoma. The test-retest repeatability is high for both HEP and OVF, however the average testing duration of HEP is significantly longer than that of OVF.

Quantitative and qualitative analyses of important bacterial content for public health concern(total bacterial count,total coliforms,faecal coliforms,Salmonella and Vibrio cholerae)of cultured fresh water prawn and farm water which has significant role in order to manage sustainable aquaculture were carried *** parameters of prawn(Macrobrachium rosenbergii)and farm water were determined by following the ISO standard *** bacterial Count(standard plate count)found in prawn samples ranged from 5.55 to 5.71 log CFU/g while 4.13 to 4.18 log CFU/mL in water *** the other hand,total coliforms found in prawn sample ranged between 1.96 to 2.46 log CFU/g whereas in water sample 2.07 to 2.46 log CFU/mL total coliforms were *** case of faecal coliforms,the number ranged between 0.96 to 1.42 log CFU/g in prawn sample and 1.59 to 1.81 in water *** Vibrio cholerae was absent in both prawns and water sample and Salmonella was detected in two tested ponds for both prawn and water sample.
