Chemical composition, antibacterial activity and antioxidant activity of Citrus bergamia essential oil: Molecular docking simulations

Molecular docking is a simulation method based on bioinformatics, that evaluates the interaction between molecules (such as essential oil and target proteins), and predicts their binding modes and affinity via a computer platform. In this study, the chemical composition and antibacterial activity of Citrus bergamia essential oil (BEO) were investigated, and molecular docking was used to examine the mechanism of interaction between the main constituents of BEO and target proteins correlated with antibacterial activity and intracellular antioxidant mechanisms. Results showed the major ingredient of BEO was linalool, which accounted for 31.58% of the total components, followed by limonene (21.47%), octadecadienoic acid (12%), octadecenal (11%), ocimene (6.72%), pinene (2.73%), and hexadecanoic acid (1.71%). The antioxidant activity of BEO was 212 ± 2.65 μg/mL using the DPPH test, and 176.43 ± 1.59 μg/mL and 89.13 ± 1.37 μg/mL using the ABTS and β-carotene discoloration methods, respectively. BEO had a stronger antibacterial impact on Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538) than on Gram-negative bacteria (Enterobacter aerogenes ATCC 13048). Finally, after analyzing the results related to the docking the three compounds, Octadecadienoic acid, Hexadecanoic acid, and 13-Octadecenal, have been reported to be effective compounds with high potency against a large number of selected receptors. Based on the results, BEO can be used as a new antibacterial agent in the pharmaceutical and food industries.

In this study, the synthesis of bis-（2-ethylhexyl） terephthalate, via the transesterification reaction of dimethyl terephthalate （DMT） by 2-ethylhexanol in the presence of different heterogeneous catalysts, such as Pb（OAc）2·3H2O, Cd（OAc）2·2H2O, Zn（OAc）2·2H2O, Hg（OAc）2·Ca（OAc）2·H2O, Cu（OAc）2·H2O, NaOAc, CaCO3, CaO, ZnSO4·7H2O, and sulfated zirconia, has been investigated. The reactivity of the catalysts in the reaction progress has been studied and compared. It was found that, hydrated cadmium acetate and sulfated zirconia were reactive catalysts to this reaction. The extent of transesterification of methyl ester groups reached up to 93% and 85.6% using these catalysts, respectively.

The multiple lump solutions method is employed for the purpose of obtaining multiple soliton solutions for the generalized Bogoyavlensky-Konopelchenko(BK)*** solutions obtained contain first-order,second-order,and third-order wave *** the critical point,the second-order derivative and Hessian matrix for only one point is investigated,and the lump solution has one maximum ***’s semi-inverse variational principle(SIVP)is also used for the generalized BK *** major cases are studied,based on two different ansatzes using the *** physical phenomena of the multiple soliton solutions thus obtained are then analyzed and demonstrated in the figures below,using a selection of suitable parameter *** method should prove extremely useful for further studies of attractive physical phenomena in the fields of heat transfer,fluid dynamics,etc.

Controlled blasting techniques are used to control overbreak and to aid in the stability of the remaining rock formation. Presplitting is one of the most common methods which is used in many open pit mining and surface blast design. The purpose of presplitting is to form a fracture plane across which the radial cracks from the production blast cannot travel. The purpose of this study is to investigate of effect of presplitting on the generation of a smooth wall in continuum and jointed rock mass. The 2D distinct element code was used to simulate the presplitting in a rock slope. The blast load history as a function of time was applied to the inner wall of each blasthole. Important parameters that were considered in the analysis were stress tensor and fracturing pattern. The blast loading magnitude and blasthole spacing and jointing pattern were found to be very significant in the final results.

In this study we investigated whether GABAA receptors of the basolateral amygdala(BLA) interact with the effect of dexamethasone on the retrieval stage of *** male Wistar rats were bilaterally cannulated in the BLA by stereotaxic *** animals were trained in step-through apparatus by induction of electric shock(1.5 mA,3 s) and were tested for memory retrieval after 1 *** time of latency for entering the dark compartment of the instrument and the time spent by rats in this chamber were recorded for evaluation of the animals' retrieval in passive avoidance *** of dexamethasone(0.3 and 0.9 mg/kg,subcutaneously(s.c.)),immediately after training,enhanced memory *** effect was reduced by intra-BLA microinjection of muscimol(0.125,0.250 and 0.500 μg/rat),when administered before 0.9 mg/kg of *** of bicuculline(0.75 μg/rat,intra-BLA) with an ineffective dose of dexamethasone(0.1 mg/kg,s.c.) increased memory ***,the same doses of muscimol and bicuculline without dexamethasone did not affect memory *** data support reports that dexamethasone enhances memory *** seems that GABAA receptors of the BLA mediate the effect of dexamethasone on memory retrieval in rats.

Background Jaundice is a life-threatening disorder in the *** the present study,we aimed to assess systematically available evidence on causes and management of jaundice in Iranian newborn *** We searched the databases of PubMed,Web of Sciences,Scopus and Google Scholar for English articles published since inception until May 2019.A search was also done for Persian articles in Magiran and Scientific Information *** were evaluated based on predefined criteria by two *** analysis was performed by STATA *** A total of 33 articles were finally *** overall pooled prevalence of causes of jaundice among Iranian neonates was as follows:ABO blood groups incompatibility,16.9%[95%confidence interval(CI)10.9-22.8];Rh blood group incompatibility,4%(95%CI 2.5-5.5);ABO and Rh blood groups incompatibility,3.6%(95%CI 0-7.7);glucose6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G6PD)deficiency,6.3%(95%CI 5.1-7.5);infection,6.6%(95%CI 5.2-8.1);hypothyroidism,4.2%(95%CI 0.1-8.3);infant of diabetic mother:2.3%(95%CI 0.1-4.5);unknown,50.7%(95%CI 33.4-68);cephalohematoma,0.6%(95%CI 0.3-0.9).Regarding treatment of icterus,seven and eight articles were found on phototherapy and exchange transfusion,*** five studies,all patients underwent phototherapy,but rate of exchange transfusion use was between 6.6%and 50.9%.Conclusions According to the results,unknown factors were the most common causes of icterus in Iranian neonates,followed by ABO blood groups incompatibility,infections and G6PD *** the way,phototherapy and exchange transfusion were found as therapeutic choices of neonatal jaundice.

Heat exchangers are integral parts of important industrial units such as petrochemicals,medicine and power *** to the importance of systems energy consumption,different modifications have been applied on heat exchangers in terms of size and *** this study,a novel heat exchanger with helically grooved annulus shell and helically coiled tube was investigated by numerical *** grooves with the same pitch of the helical coil tube and different depth are created on the inner and outer wall of annulus shell to improve the thermal performance of heat *** the first section,thermal performance of the shell and coil heat exchanger with the helical grooves on its outer shell wall was compared with same but without helical *** the second section,helically grooves created on both outer and inner wall of the annulus shell with different groove *** results showed that the heat exchanger with grooves on both inner and outer shell wall has better thermal performance up to 20%compared to the heat exchanger with grooves on only outer shell *** highest thermal performance achieves at lower flow rates and higher groove depths whereas the pressure drop did not increase significantly.
