Background: Symptoms of heart failure (HF) are identical in both systolic (SHF) and diastolic hear failure (DHF). The prevalence of atrial fibrillation (AF) in heart failure varies in different studies depending on the criteria of enrollment and the use of echocardiographic parameters in the definition of HF. Aim: To assess the clinical characteristic of pa- tients with DHF complicated by AF and compare with those with SHF in regard of echocardiographic abnormalities and causative agents. Furthermore, evaluate the clinical and biochemical markers for the prediction of AF in HF. Method: Over the duration of 12 months, each patient diagnosed as HF based on admission code was enrolled in the study. Patients were classified into two groups: group 1: DHF, with preserved LVPEF% > 50%, n = 204 (60%), and group 2, with SHF, with LVREF% ≤ 50%, n = 140 (40%). The presence or absence of AF on ECG was recorded. The predictive value of different clinical and biochemical variables for the development of AF was evaluated using logistic multiple regression analysis. Results: Three hundred and forty four eligible patients were admitted to hospital with heart failure out of 7650 who had other medical problems. The prevalence of HF in this population was 4.5%, those with DHF were 2.7% and SHF of 1.8%. The incidence of AF on ECG was 35% in the whole study population and 65% were in sinus rhythm (SR). The occurrence of AF was twice higher in DHF patients of 22% compared with 11% in SHF. Echo pulsed Doppler in DHF and AF compared with those in SR showed a severe restrictive pattern with significantly thick septum wall, higher LV mass index, shorter DT and higher E/e? ratio of 12.4 vs. 9.73, P 0.05. The predictive risk (odd ratio) of different clinical variables for development of AF in HF was positive for LV hypertrophy on ECG of 2.4, history of hypertension of 1.6, history of DM of 1.4, BMI > 28 of 1.7. A BCI （brain computer interface） established a new direct communication channel using the brain activity between the human brain and machine. The visual stimulus with a certain frequency is present to the BCI users; it exists in a particular condition to observe a continuous brain response respect to frequent of visual stimuli. A significant problem when engaged the SSVEP （steady-state visual evoked potential） based on BCI, it will be exhausted and may suffer for the users when staring at flashing stimuli. This experimental study investigates how the differences in LED＇s-colors influence of SSVEP with respect to （i.e., frequencies and phases）. The result shows that the visualization of phase delays in lower frequencies greater than in higher frequencies.

Senescence or programmed cell death is a process that interacts with many biochemical and physiological changes in living organism and is generally induced by aging. Many environmental stresses that accelerate the production of activated oxygen can also induce senescence artificially. One of the important aspects of senescence is possibly degradation of macromolecules such as DNA. It is believed that the random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique is a good method to compare the DNA quality of juvenile and senescence samples in which oxidative stress is induced. In this study, juvenile, senescence and plant paraquat treated leaves from tomato, tobacco and rose, as well as juvenile and senescence human tissues were processed for DNA extraction followed by RAPD technique. We discovered that plant and human genomes are influenced by senescence and environmental stresses underwent genome diversity. Using some molecular markers proved that senescence and oxidative treated samples show different DNA pattern compare to the juvenile-un- treated samples. We also concluded that RAPD technique can be used as a useful tool in genomics study to provide researchers reliable information of DNA quality and can effectively help to resolve the environment condition.

We present an annotated checklist for a total 241 reptiles and 22 amphibians including 5 frogs, 9 toads, 7 newts and salamanders, 1 crocodile, 1 worm lizard, 148 lizards, 79 snakes and 12 turtles and tortoises, includes the most scientific literature up to August 2014 and also based on several field surveys conducted in different Provinces of Iran from 2009 to 2014. We present an up-to-dated checklist of reptiles and amphibians in Iran. We provide a comprehensive listing of taxonomy, names, distribution and conservation status of all amphibians and reptiles of Iran. This checklist includes all recognized named taxa, English names for classes, orders, families, species, subspecies along with Persian names for species, including indication of native and introduced species. For the first time we report two non-native introduced reptiles from natural habitats of Iran. Of the total 22 species of amphibians in Iran, 6（27.2%） are endemic and of the total 241 species of reptiles, 55（22.8%） are endemic. Of the 22 amphibians species in Iran, 3（13%） are Critically Endangered, 2（9%） are Vulnerable and of the 241 reptile species 3（1.2%） are Critically Endangered, 4（1.6%） are Endangered and 10（4.1%） are Vulnerable. Accordingly, this paper combines significant aspects of taxonomy, common names, conservation status and distribution of the Iranian herpetofauna.

The present work aims to study the drought stress effects on polyamine content and its relationship with growth and development in seeds, during cell division (from the beginning and until 17 days after pollination) and grain filling (until reaching the physiological maturity) stages. Factorial experiment based on Randomized Complete Block (RCB) design was carried out with three replications. Two factors of the experiment were considered: the level of irrigation (irrigation without and with drought stress during cell division stage and with drought stress during grain filling stage) and the level of wheat genotype (drought-resistant, semi-resistant and sensitive genotypes). As control treatment, soil moisture content of the field was considered. For drought-stress treatment, the 50% of the soil moisture content in control treatment was established. According to the experimental results, Putrescine content value is higher in control treatment which develops seeds of drought-resistant genotypes than that are registered for semi-resistant and sensitive genotypes. Both drought stress treatments induced significant rises in putrescine amount in the different genotypes of the study. The rises of putrescine content in sensitive and semi-resistant genotypes, however, were higher than in resistant ones, and the highest rise in putrescine content appeared in manning semi-resistant genotype during the stage of grain filling (27 days after pollination). Exerting drought stress in both stages of cell division and grain filling led to significant increase in spermine and spermidine contents of developing seeds of entire genotypes of the study. The highest spermidine content during grain filling stage occurred in sensitive genotypes of Shark and Tevee’s, and the lowest occurred in semi-resistant genotype of Sabalan. Mosul Dam is located on the River Tigris about 60 km northwest Mosul in Iraq. It is the biggest dam where its storage capacity reaches 11.11 billion cubic meters at normal operational level (330 m. above sea level). The dam was constructed on alternating beds of karistified limestone, gypsum and marl. This dam suffered from water seepage under its foundation since its operation in 1986. Grouting operations were implemented since that time to overcome this problem. This seepage is believed to be due to dissolution of gypsum beds under the foundation, which was not carefully considered by the designers. It was recommended by the international board of experts that the water level should be kept at or below 319 m.a.s.l. to minimize damages in case of the failure of the dam. ISIS occupied the dam site on 8 August 2014 and it was seized back from the hands of ISIS on the 16th of the same month. They did plenty of damage despite the short period they occupied the area. After that, the Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources rebuilt the damaged parts and used new grouting and maintenance program. Now, the dam looks very safe at 319 m water level at its reservoir. In addition, the impounding was raised 325 m.a.s.l. for few days and nothing abnormal was noticed.

Bleeding risk with clopidogrel and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy

AIM To compare bleeding within 48 h in patients undergoing percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy(PEG) with or without *** After institutional review board approval, a retrospective study involving a single center was conducted on adult patients having PEG(1/08-1/14). Patients were divided into two groups: Clopidogrel group consisting of those patients taking clopidogrel within 5 d of PEG and the non-clopidogrel group including those patients not taking clopidogrel within 5 d of the *** Three hundred and nineteen PEG patients were found. One hundred and sixty-eight males and 151 females with mean body mass index 28.47 ± 9.75 kg/m2 and mean age 65.03 ± 16.11 years were identified. Thirtythree patients were on clopidogrel prior to PEG with 286 patients not on clopidogrel. No patients in either group developed hematochezia, melena, or hematemesiswithin 48 h of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy(PEG). No statistical differences were observed between the two groups with 48 h for hemoglobin decrease of > 2 g/dL(2 vs 5 patients; P = 0.16), blood transfusions(2 vs 7 patients; P = 0.24), and repeat endoscopy for possible gastrointestinal bleeding(no patients in either group). CONCLUSION Based on the results, no significant post-procedure bleeding was observed in patients undergoing PEG with recent use of clopidogrel.
