An efficient Bayesian network for differential diagnosis using experts’knowledge

Purpose-This study aims to differential diagnosis of some diseases using classification methods to support effective medical *** this purpose,different classification methods based on data,experts’knowledge and both are considered in some ***,feature reduction and some clustering methods are used to improve their ***/methodology/approach-First,the performances of classification methods are evaluated for differential diagnosis of different ***,experts’knowledge is utilized to modify the Bayesian networks’*** of the results show that using experts’knowledge is more effective than other algorithms for increasing the accuracy of Bayesian network classification.A total of ten different diseases are used for testing,taken from the Machine Learning Repository datasets of the University of California at Irvine(UCI).Findings-The proposed method improves both the computation time and accuracy of the classification methods used in this *** networks based on experts’knowledge achieve a maximum average accuracy of 87 percent,with a minimum standard deviation average of 0.04 over the sample datasets among all classification *** implications-The proposed methodology can be applied to perform disease differential diagnosis ***/value-This study presents the usefulness of experts’knowledge in the diagnosis while proposing an adopted improvement method for ***,the Bayesian network based on experts’knowledge is useful for different diseases neglected by previous papers.

Seismic ground faulting is the greatest hazard for continuous buried *** the years,researchers have attempted to understand pipeline behavior mostly via numerical modeling such as the finite element *** lack of well-documented field case histories of pipeline failure from seismic ground faulting and the cost and complicated facilities needed for full-scale experimental simulation mean that a centrifuge-based method to determine the behavior of pipelines subjected to faulting is best to verify numerical *** paper presents results from three centrifuge tests designed to investigate continuous buried steel pipeline behavior subjected to normal *** experimental setup and procedure are described and the recorded axial and bending strains induced in a pipeline are presented and compared to those obtained via analytical *** influence of factors such as faulting offset,burial depth and pipe diameter on the axial and bending strains of pipes and on ground soil failure and pipeline deformation patterns are also ***,the tensile rupture of a pipeline due to normal faulting is investigated.

： The first step in any seismic hazard study is the definition of seismogenic sources and the estimation of magnitude-frequency relationships for each source. There is as yet no standard methodology for source modeling and many researchers have worked on this topic. This study is an effort to define linear and area seismic sources for Northern Iran. The linear or fault sources are developed based on tectonic features and characteristic earthquakes while the area sources are developed based on spatial distribution of small to moderate earthquakes. Time-dependent recurrence relationships are developed for fault sources using renewal approach while time-independent frequency-magnitude relationships are proposed for area sources based on Poisson process. GIS functionalities are used in this study to introduce and incorporate spatial- temporal and geostatistical indices in delineating area seismic sources. The proposed methodology is used to model seismic sources for an area of about 500 by 400 square kilometers around Tehran. Previous researches and reports are studied to compile an earthquake/fault catalog that is as complete as possible. All events are transformed to uniform magnitude scale; duplicate events and dependent shocks are removed. Completeness and time distribution of the compiled catalog is taken into account. The proposed area and linear seismic sources in conjunction with defined recurrence relationships can be used to develop time-dependent probabilistic seismic hazard analysis of Northern Iran.

This research investigates the aerodynamic performance and flow characteristics of a delta wing with 65° sweep angle and with coarse axial riblets,and then compares with that of a smooth-surface delta *** Image Velocimetry(PIV)were utilized to visualize the flow over the wing at 6 cross-sections upright to the wing surface and parallel to the wing span,as well as 3 longitudinal sections on the leading edge,symmetry plane,and a plane between them at Angles of Attack(AOA)=20°and 30°and Re=1.2×10~5,2.4×10~5,and 3.6×10~*** effects of the riblets were studied on the vortices diameter,vortex breakdown location,vortices distance from the wing surface,flow lines pattern nearby the wing,circulation distribution,and *** results show that the textured model has a positive effect on some of the parameters related to drag reduction and lift *** riblets increase the flow momentum near the wing’s upper surface except near the *** also increase the flow momentum behind the wing.

In this study,gradual and sudden reduction methods were combined to simulate a progressive failure in notched composite plates using a macro mechanics *** the presented method,a progressive failure is simulated based on a linear softening law prior to a catastrophic failure,and thereafter,sudden reduction methods are employed for modeling a progressive *** combination method significantly reduces the computational cost and is also capable of simultaneously predicting the first and last ply failures(LPFs)in composite *** proposed method is intended to predict the first ply failure(FPF),LPF,and dominant failure modes of carbon/epoxy and glass/epoxy notched composite *** addition,the effects of mechanical properties and different stacking sequences on the propagation of damage in notched composite plates were *** results of the presented method were compared with experimental data previously reported in the *** comparing the numerical and experimental data,it is revealed that the proposed method can accurately simulate the failure propagation in notched composite plates at a low computational cost.

Background:Glioblastoma remains a highly invasive primary brain malignancy with an undesirable *** evidence has shed light on the importance of microRNAs(miRs),as small non-coding RNAs,in tumor development and *** present study leverages the in-silico and in-vitro techniques to investigate the signiﬁcance of hsa-miR-181a-5p and the underlying hsa-miR-181a-5p-meidated signaling pathway in glioblastoma ***:Bioinformatic studies were performed on GSE158284,GSE108474(REMBRANDT study),TCGA-GTEx,CCLE,GeneMANIA,Reactome,WikiPathways,KEGG,miRDB,and microT-CDS to identify the signiﬁcance of hsa-miR-181a-5p and its underlying ***,the U373 cell line was selected and transfected with hsa-miR-181a-5p mimics,and the cell viability,clonogenicity,migration,mRNA expression,apoptosis,and cell cycle were studied using the MTT assay,colony formation test,migration assay,qRT-PCR,andﬂow cytometry ***:hsa-miR-181a-5p expression is decreased in glioblastoma *** in-silico results have shown that hsa-miR-181a-5p could regulate the MAPK pathway by targeting *** experimental assays have shown that hsa-miR-181a-5p decreases the migration of glioblastoma cells,arrests the cell cycle,and increases the apoptosis *** downregulating MMP9 and upregulating BAX,hsa-miR-181a-5p downregulates MET,MAP2K1,MAPK1,MAPK3,and AKT3 expression in U373 *** in-vitro results were consistent with in-silico results regarding the regulatory effect of hsa-miR-181a-5p on the MAPK pathway,leading to tumor suppression in ***:hsa-miR-181a-5p inhibits glioblastoma development partially by regulating the signaling factors of the MAPK pathway.

We present a comprehensive numerical framework for the electrical and optical modeling and simulation of hybrid quantum dot light-emitting diodes(QD-LEDs).We propose a model known as hopping mobility to calculate the carrier mobility in the emissive organic layer doped with quantum dots(QDs).To evaluate the ability of this model to describe the electrical characteristics of QD-LEDs,the measured data of a fabricated QD-LED with different concentrations of QDs in the emissive layer were taken,and the corresponding calculations were performed based on the proposed *** simulation results indicate that the hopping mobility model can describe the concentration dependence of the electrical behavior of the ***,based on the continuity equation for singlet and triplet excitons,the exciton density profiles of the devices with different QD concentrations were ***,the corresponding luminance characteristics of the devices were calculated,where the results are in good agreement with the experimental data.

This study investigates the mediating role of brand app trust in the relationship between brand app antecedents and purchase intentions via a brand mobile *** explores the mediating potential of brand and platform trust in this relationship between antecedents and purchase intentions and also highlights which brand antecedents are useful for directly or indirectly establishing trust towards purchasing via a mobile app in the Iranian mobile commerce *** study uses survey data collected through an online questionnaire form and applies the partial least squares method to extract its *** of the estimation results are found to be unbiased and *** results show that brand app trust plays a mediating role in the relationship between the brand app antecedents of word-of-mouth recommendation,subjective norms,perceived image(social antecedents),mobile computing self-efficacy(consumer-based antecedent),and perceived ease of use(system antecedent)and purchase intentions via a brand mobile app in Iran.

Clustering approaches are one of the probabilistic load flow(PLF)methods in distribution networks that can be used to obtain output random variables,with much less computation burden and time than the Monte Carlo simulation(MCS)***,a challenge of the clustering methods is that the statistical characteristics of the output random variables are obtained with low *** paper presents a hybrid approach based on clustering and Point estimate *** the proposed approach,first,the sample points are clustered based on the𝑙-means method and the optimal agent of each cluster is ***,for each member of the population of agents,the deterministic load flow calculations are performed,and the output variables are ***,a Point estimate-based PLF is performed and the mean and the standard deviation of the output variables are ***,the statistical data of each output random variable are modified using the Point estimate *** use of the proposed method makes it possible to obtain the statistical properties of output random variables such as mean,standard deviation and probabilistic functions,with high accuracy and without significantly increasing the burden of *** order to confirm the consistency and efficiency of the proposed method,the 10-,33-,69-,85-,and 118-bus standard distribution networks have been simulated using coding in Python®programming *** simulation studies,the results of the proposed method have been compared with the results obtained from the clustering method as well as the MCS method,as a criterion.
