Objective:To investigate the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of orally administered methanolic leaf extract of Dalbergia paniculala(***) in Carrageenan induced inflammation in ***:In vitro antioxidant activity was evaluated for superoxide radical, Hydroxyl radical and DPPH radical scavenging *** doses 200 mg/kg,400 mg/kg and 800 mg/kg of *** were tested for anti-inflammatory activity in Carrageenan induced rat paw edema model and paw thickness was measured every one hour up to 6 h. Results:The melhanolic leaf extract of *** produced dose dependent inhibition of Superoxide radical,Hydroxyl radical and OPPH *** Carrageenan induced inflammation model,all three doses produced significant percentage inhibition of rat paw edema and 800 mg/kg dose produced maximum percent inhibition of rat paw edema(47.83%) at 3h compared to control ***:In the present study we found that methanolic leaf extract of *** showed good in vitro antioxidant activity and in vivo anti-inflammatory activity in rats.

Tin mono-sulphide（Sn S） nanoparticles（Nps） have been successfully synthesised through ionic liquid assisted hydrothermal method using hydrated tin（II） chloride as a precursor, thiourea as sulphur source precursors using 2-Methoxy ethyl methyl imidazolium methane sulfonate ionic liquid as co-solvent. The Reitveld refinement on powder X-ray diffraction（PXRD） confirmed the presence of orthorhombic Sn S structure as major phase along with traces amount of Sn S2 and Sn2 S3. Diffuse reflectance spectrum studies revealed the energy band gap around 1.38 e V. TEM images confirmed the Sn S Nps with average particle size of 40 nm and HRTEM suggest good crystallinity. The electrochemical property for lithium storage behaviour shows an initial discharge capacity of 658 m Ah/g and it retains discharge capacity of 426 m Ah/g for 16 cycles, at current density 100 m A/g. The obtained results indicate that Sn S Nps to be one of the possible promising anode materials for next generation Lithium batteries. Photoluminescence study of Sn S Nps shows a strong green emission at 530 nm. Sn S Nps were also tested for the photocatalytic adsorption of methylene blue and Rhodamine B.

Polycrystalline La1-xKxCoO3 （0≤ x ≤ 0.2） rare earth cobaltates have been synthesized by a solution combustion method using glycine as a fuel. The synthesized ceramic materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）, and magnetic measurements and studied for physical properties, such as photoeatalytic activity. FTIR measurements in conjunction with XRD showed that phases beyond 10% K doping are accompanied by small amounts of impurities. Chemical titrations show the presence of Co^4＋ and account for the Co^3＋-Co^4＋ mixed-valency of the system. The parent LaCoO3 shows spin-glass transition at low temperatures, whereas doped samples show transition from spin-glass behavior to paramagnetic ordering on progressive doping of K. ＂Mixed-conductor＂ nature of these ceramics positions them as viable candidates for solid oxide fuel cell （SOFC） applications.

The objective of the present study is to develop cost effective thermoplastic hybrid laminate using Dyneema®HB50 and Tensylon®HSBD 30A through structural hybridization *** having 20 mm thickness were fabricated and subjected to 7.6239 mm mild steel core projectile with an impact velocity of 730±10 ms*** such as energy absorption,back face deformation and rate of back face deformation were measured as a function of hybridization *** was observed that hybrid laminate with 50:50 ratio(w/w)of Tensylon®and Dyneema®with Tensylon®as front face showed 200%more energy absorption when compared to 100%Tensylon®laminate and showed equal energy absorption as that of expensive 100%Dyneema®***,hybrid laminate with TD50:50 ratio showed 40%lower in terms of final back face deformation than Dyneema®*** of back face deformation was also found to be slow for hybrid laminate as compared to Dyneema®*** mechanical analysis showed that,Tensylon®laminate has got higher stiffness and lower damping factor than Dyneema®and hybrid *** interface between Tensylon®and Dyneema®layers was found to be separating during the penetration process due to the poor interfacial *** behaviour of laminates for different hybridization ratios were studied by sectioning the impacted *** was observed that,the Tensylon®laminate has undergone shear cutting of fibers as major failure mode whereas the hybrid laminate showed shear cutting followed by tensile stretching,fiber pull out and *** inputs are highly useful for body armour applications to design cost effective armour with enhanced performance.

Human-wildlife conflict(HWC)is a conservation concern that increasingly threatens the continued existence of some of the world’s most endangered *** an increase in human population,urban sprawl and subsequent encroachment on wild land,human and wildlife interaction has become *** the majority of cases,this interaction results in a negative outcome for humans,wildlife or *** China,these key elements,along with a decrease in wild prey species,have resulted in the expansion of HWC encounters,and the need for alleviating this conflict has become a conservation *** of human life,livestock and/or crops is most often the catalysts that fuel *** to alleviate conflict around the world have included preventative measures and mitigation techniques,such as financial compensation and other incentive *** types of measures have had variable *** review the current status of human-carnivore conflict management in China,and,drawing lessons from around the globe,we make recommendations for improving conservation management in *** example,an increase in law enforcement in nature reserves is vital to reducing human disturbance in prime carnivore habitat,thereby reducing conflict ***,modifications to current wildlife compensation programs,so that they are linked with preventative measures,will ensure that moral hazards are ***,investigating the potential for a community self-financed insurance scheme to fund compensation and increasing efforts to restore wild prey populations will improve the outcome for wildlife ***,HWC management in China will greatly benefit from an integrative approach.

The problem of unsteady magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)boundary layer flow of a non-Newtonian Maxwell nanofluid over a stretching surface with thennal radiation is *** Maxwell model is used to characterize the non-Newtonian fluid *** appropriate similarity transformation Is employed to transform the governing partial differential equations of mass,momentum,energy and nanoparticle concentration into ordinary differential *** coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations are solved by using the variational finite element *** flow features and the heat transfer characteristics and nanoparticle volume fraction are analyzed and discussed in detail for several sets of values of the governing flow *** results for the skin-friction coefficient,local Nusselt number and the local Sherwood number are presented in tables for various values of the flow controlling parameters.

Inhibition of H2O2-induced DNA damage in single cell gel electrophoresis assay (comet assay) by castasterone isolated from leaves of centella asiatica

Brassinosteroids (BRs) are a large group of polyhydroxy steroids, which regulate numerous aspects of plant growth and development, including stem elongation, leaf bending, tracheary element differentiation, stress protection and photomorphogenesis. Recent studies indicate antigenotoxic and anticancerous activities of these compounds. The role of natural BRs in H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) -induced DNA damage in human lymphocytes is still unknown. The present study reports the presence of Castasterone from leaves of Centella asiatica, an important medicinal herb commonly used as a memory enhancer and immunomodulator. CA50 fraction isolated from Centella asiatica was characterized as Castasterone by electrospray ionization mass spectral data with standard Castasterone. An attempt has been made to study antigenotoxic activity of the isolated Castasterone against H2O2 -induced DNA damage in human blood lymphocytes using Single cell gel electrophoresis assay (Comet Assay). Castasterone at 10–9 M concentration proved to be effective in diminishing the DNA damage by 89.42 %.

Neural network modeling to evaluate the dynamic flow stress of high strength armor steels under high strain rate compression

An artificial neural network(ANN) constitutive model is developed for high strength armor steel tempered at 500 C, 600 C and 650 C based on high strain rate data generated from split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) experiments. A new neural network configuration consisting of both training and validation is effectively employed to predict flow stress. Tempering temperature, strain rate and strain are considered as inputs, whereas flow stress is taken as output of the neural network. A comparative study on Johnsone Cook(Je C) model and neural network model is performed. It was observed that the developed neural network model could predict flow stress under various strain rates and tempering temperatures. The experimental stressestrain data obtained from high strain rate compression tests using SHPB, over a range of tempering temperatures(500e650 C), strains(0.05e0.2) and strain rates(1000e5500/s) are employed to formulate Je C model to predict the high strain rate deformation behavior of high strength armor steels. The J-C model and the back-propagation ANN model were developed to predict the high strain rate deformation behavior of high strength armor steel and their predictability is evaluated in terms of correlation coefficient(R) and average absolute relative error(AARE). R and AARE for the Je C model are found to be 0.7461 and 27.624%, respectively, while R and AARE for the ANN model are 0.9995 and 2.58%, respectively. It was observed that the predictions by ANN model are in consistence with the experimental data for all tempering temperatures.

Projective change between two Finsler metrics arises from Information Geom-etry. Such metrics have special geometric properties and will play an important role in Finsler geometry. The purpose of the present paper is to find a relation to characterize the projective change between generalized (α, β) - metric ( μ1, μ2 and μ3 ≠ 0 are constants) and Randers metric , where α and are two Riemannian metrics, β and are 1-forms. Further, we study such projective change when generalized (α, β) -metric F has some curvature property.
