Contrasts of bimodal tropical instability waves(TIWs)-induced wind stress perturbations in the Pacific Ocean among observations,ocean models,and coupled climate models

The coupling between wind stress perturbations and sea surface temperature(SST)perturbations induced by tropical instability waves(TIWs)in the Pacific Ocean has been revealed previously and proven crucial to both the atmosphere and ***,an overlooked fact by previous studies is that the loosely defined“TIWs”actually consist of two modes,including the Yanai wave-based TIW on the equator(hereafter eTIW)and the Rossby wave-based TIW off the equator(hereafter vTIW).Hence,the individual feedbacks of the wind stress to the bimodal TIWs remain *** this study,individual coupling relationships are established for both eTIW and v TIW,including the relationship between the TIW-induced SST perturbations and two components of wind stress perturbations,and the relationship between the TIW-induced wind stress perturbation divergence(curl)and the downwind(crosswind)TIW-induced SST *** show that,due to different distributions of eTIW and vTIW,the coupling strength induced by the eTIW is stronger on the equator,and that by the vTIW is stronger off the *** results of any of eTIW and vTIW are higher than those of the loosely defined *** further investigated how well the coupling relationships remained in several widely recognized oceanic general circulation models and fully coupled climate ***,the coupling relationships cannot be well represented in most numerical ***,we confirmed that higher resolution usually corresponds to more accurate ***,the coupling models established in this study are complementary to previous research and can be used to refine the oceanic and coupled climate models.

Hydrologic Response to Future Climate Change in the Dulong-Irra-waddy River Basin Based on Coupled Model Intercomparison Project 6

Within the context of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)and the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor(CMEC),the Dulong-Ir-rawaddy(Ayeyarwady)River,an international river among China,India and Myanmar,plays a significant role as both a valuable hydro-power resource and an essential ecological ***,the water resources and security exhibit a high degree of vulnerabil-ity to climate change *** research evaluates climate impacts on the hydrology of the Dulong-Irrawaddy River Basin(DIRB)by using a physical-based hydrologic *** crafted future climate scenarios using the three latest global climate models(GCMs)from Coupled Model Intercomparison Project 6(CMIP6)under two shared socioeconomic pathways(SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5)for the near(2025-2049),mid(2050-2074),and far future(2075-2099).The regional model using MIKE SHE based on historical hydrologic processes was developed to further project future streamflow,demonstrating reliable performance in streamflow simulations with a val-idation Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency(NSE)of *** showed that climate change projections showed increases in the annual precip-itation and potential evapotranspiration(PET),with precipitation increasing by 11.3%and 26.1%,and PET increasing by 3.2%and 4.9%,respectively,by the end of the century under SSP2-4.5 and *** changes are projected to result in increased annual streamflow at all stations,notably at the basin’s outlet(Pyay station)compared to the baseline period(with an increase of 16.1%and 37.0%at the end of the 21st century under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5,respectively).Seasonal analysis for Pyay station forecasts an in-crease in dry-season streamflow by 31.3%-48.9%and 22.5%-76.3%under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5,respectively,and an increase in wet-season streamflow by 5.8%-12.6%and 2.8%-33.3%,***,the magnitude and frequency of flood events are pre-dicted to escalate,potentially impacting hydropower production and food security *** res

Achieving exceptionally high strength and rapid degradation rate of Mg-Er-Ni alloy by strengthening with lamellar γ' and bulk LPSO phases

As-extruded Mg-Er-Ni alloys with different volume fractions of long-period stacking ordered(LPSO)phase and density of lamellar γ' phase were prepared,and the microstructure,mechanical,and degradation properties were *** the bulk LPSO phase and the lamellar γ' phase,and controlling the dynamic recrystallization processes during deformation by adjusting the volume fraction of LPSO and the density of the γ' phase,a synergistic increase in strength and degradation rate can be *** the one hand,the increase in corrosion rate was related to the increased volume fraction of the bulk LPSO phase and the densities of the lamellar γ' phase,which provide more galvanic ***,high densities of the lamellar γ' phase can provide more corrosion interface by inhibiting the recrystallization process to refine dynamic recrystallized(DRXed)grains during the hot *** the other hand,the ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and tensile yield strength(TYS)of the Mg-Er-Ni alloy increased from 345 and 265 MPa to 514 MPa and 358 MPa,respectively,which was mainly attributed to grain boundary and texture strengthening,bulk LPSO phase and lamellar γ' phase ***,Mg^(-1)4Er-4Ni alloy,which contains the highest volume fraction bulk LPSO phase and the densities of lamellar γ' phase,re-alized a synergistic enhancement of strength and degradation *** UTS,TYS,and degradation rate of Mg^(-1)4Er-4Ni were 514 MPa,358 MPa,and 142.5 mg cm^(-2)h^(-1)(3 wt%KCl solution at 93◦C),*** research provides new insight into developing Mg alloys with high strength and degradation rates for fracturing tool materials in the application of oil and gas exploitation in harsh environments.

Coexistence of liver abscess, hepatic cystic echinococcosis and hepatocellular carcinoma: A case report

Genomic analysis provides insights into the westward expansion of domesticated peaches in China

Peach, an economically important model plant of the Rosaceae family, has been domesticated and cultivated in China for approximately5 000 years. The Hexi Corridor, an important corridor connecting east-central China and the Tarim Basin, is the starting point of the Silk Road that links China and the Eurasian region. As a globally distributed fruit tree, the spread of peach was accomplished through historical trade routes in the Hexi Corridor and the Tarim Basin. However, knowledge of peach genetic diversity in these regions remains limited. In this study,we examined the relationships and the spread history of domesticated peaches through sequencing and genomic analysis of 161 peach accessions collected from Northwest China, including 43 from the Hexi Corridor and 104 from the Tarim Basin. The results indicate that peach landraces in the Hexi Corridor and the Tarim Basin are derivatives of peaches from the east and south of China (ESC). Notably, the genetic diversity of accessions from both the Hexi Corridor and the Tarim Basin was lower than that of ESC accessions. Reduction of diversity (ROD) and linkage disequilibrium (LD) analyses detected a genetic bottleneck in peaches from these regions. Additionally, these peaches have undergone varying degrees of selection from natural environment. Moreover, genes responsive to biotic and abiotic stresses were under selection, which could be the result of the climate change of Northwest China after the Last Glacial maximum (LGM). Our findings provide a better understanding of the genetic basis of peach migration in Northwest China. Furthermore, this study expands the available genomic data for peaches and provides critical information for future peach breeding programs.

Molecular mechanism of exopolysaccharide biosynthesis regulated by wze and wzd genes on the immunomodulatory effects of probiotic Lacticaseibacillus paracasei S-NB

The surface macromolecules of probiotic bacteria play crucial roles in modulating immune responses in the host. Exopolysaccharide (EPS) from lactic acid bacteria (LAB) have been widely reported to exhibit immunomodulatory activity. In this study， the EPS biosynthesis gene cluster of Lacticaseibacillus paracasei S-NB was analyzed and a deletion mutant S-NB△7576 (two genes S-NB＿2175/wze and S-NB＿2176/wzd were responsible for the chain length determination and export of EPS) was successfully constructed， resulting a 40.02% decrease in the production of EPS. The deletion of wze and wzd had little effect on the monosaccharide composition and major groups of the two EPS fractions (BEPS1 and BEPS2). Both BEPS1 and BEPS2 could inhibit the transcriptional level of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)， interleukin-1β (IL-1β)， inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) mRNA in RAW 264.7 cells induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS)， and enhance host immune tolerance via suppressing NF-κB and maPK signaling. Notably， the S-NB△7576 mutant supplied with the BEPS1/BEPS2 exhibited more significant inhibition of cytokines production and the phosphorylation of p65 and c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) in LPS-stimulated cells compared with the S-NB△7576 mutant alone. Our study provided the immunomodulatory effect of BEPS1 and BEPS2 from L. paracasei S-NB， in which the wze and wzd genes associated with EPS biosynthesis may play an important role.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)therapy targeting programmed cell death ligand 1(PD-L1)and programmed death protein 1(PD-1)had exhibited significant clinical benefits for cancer treatment such as triple negative breast cancer(TNBC).However,the relatively low anti-tumor immune response rate and ICIs drug resistance highlight the necessity of developing ICIs combination therapy strategies to improve the anti-tumor effect of ***,the immunomodulator epigallocatechin gallate palmitate(PEGCG)and the immunoadjuvant metformin(MET)self-assembled into tumor-targeted micelles via hydrogen bond and electrostatic interaction,which encapsulated the therapeutic agents doxorubicin(DOX)-loaded PEGCG-MET micelles(PMD)and combined with ICIs(anti-PD-1 antibody)as therapeutic strategy to reduce the endogenous expression of PD-L1 and improve the tumor immunosuppressive *** results presented that PMD integrated chemotherapy and immunotherapy to enhance antitumor efficacy in vitro and in vivo,compared with DOX or anti-PD-1 antibody for the therapy of *** micelles might be a potential candidate,which could remedy the shortcomings of antibody-based ICIs and provide synergistic effect to enhance the antitumor effects of ICIs in tumor therapy.

A 128×128 SPAD LiDAR sensor with column-parallel 25 ps resolution TA-ADCs

This paper presents a design of single photon avalanche diode(SPAD)light detection and ranging(LiDAR)sensor with 128×128 pixels and 128 column-parallel time-to-analog-merged-analog-to-digital converts(TA-ADCs).Unlike the conventional TAC-based SPAD LiDAR sensor,in which the TAC and ADC are separately implemented,we propose to merge the TAC and ADC by sharing their capacitors,thus avoiding the analog readout noise of TAC’s output buffer,improving the conversion rate,and reducing chip *** reverse start-stop logic is employed to reduce the power of the *** in a 180 nm CMOS process,our prototype sensor exhibits a timing resolution of 25 ps,a DNL of+0.30/−0.77 LSB,an INL of+1.41/−2.20 LSB,and a total power consumption of 190 mW.A flash LiDAR system based on this sensor demonstrates the function of 2D/3D imaging with 128×128 resolution,25 kHz inter-frame rate,and sub-centimeter ranging precision.
