Foot-and-mouth disease(FMD)is a viral disease that affects cloven-hoofed animals including cattle,pigs,and sheep,hence causing export bans among others,causing high economic losses due to reduced *** global effect of FMD is most felt where livestock rearing forms an important source of *** is therefore important to understand the modes of transmission of FMD to control its spread and prevent its *** work intends to address these dynamics by including the efficacy of active migrant animals transporting the disease from one area to another in a fuzzy mathematical modeling *** models of epidemics are determinable with a set of deterministic parameters and this does not reflect on real-life scenarios as observed in *** theory is used in this model as it permits the inclusion of uncertainties in the model;this makes the model more of a reality regarding disease transmission.A time lag,in this case,denotes the incubation period and other time-related factors affecting the spread of FMD and,therefore,is added to the current model for *** that purpose,the analysis of steady states and the basic reproduction number are performed and,in addition,the stability checks are conveyed in the fuzzy *** the numerical solution of the model,we derive the Forward Euler Method and the fuzzy delayed non-standard finite difference(FDNSFD)*** studies of the FDNSFD scheme are performed for convergence,non-negativity,boundedness,and consistency analysis of the numerical projection to guarantee that the numerical model is an accurate discretization of the continuous dynamics of FMD transmission over *** the following simulation study,we show that the FDNSFD method preserves the characteristics of the constant model and still works if relatively large time steps are employed;this is a bonus over the normal finite difference *** study shows how valuable it is to adopt fuzzy theory and time delays whe

This study analyzes the transmission of typhoid fever caused by Salmonella typhi using a mathematical model thathighlights the significance of delay in its *** delays can affect the nature of patterns and slow downthe emergence of patterns in infected population *** analyzed model is expanded with the equilibriumanalysis,reproduction number,and stability *** study aims to establish and explore the non-standardfinite difference(NSFD)scheme for the typhoid fever virus transmission model with a time *** addition,the forward Euler method and Runge-Kutta method of order 4(RK-4)are also applied in the present *** significant properties,such as convergence,positivity,boundedness,and consistency,are explored,and theproposed scheme preserves all the mentioned *** theoretical validation is conducted on how NSFDoutperforms other methods in emulating key aspects of the continuous model,such as positive solution,stability,and equilibrium about ***,the above analysis also shows some of the limitations of the conventional finitedifference methods,such as forward Euler and RK-4 in simulating such critical *** becomes moreapparent when using larger *** indicated that NSFD is beneficial in identifying the essential characteristicsof the continuous model with higher accuracy than the traditional approaches.

An integrated land change modeler and distributed hydrological model approach for quantifying future urban runoff dynamics

Climate and land use changes have a significant impact on the runoff generation process in urban environments, and these effects could get worse in the future. The combined contributions of these changes have increased the risk of ***, there is a need for integrated modeling to better understand the runoff variability, especially in small urban catchments. To quantify and separate the effects of land-use changes and climate change on the hydrological response of urban catchments with a distributed hydrological model(Storm Water Management Model, SWMM), this study introduces a new integrated approach based on the Machine Learning based land use change modeler and climate change scenarios under *** on supervised classification and land use change model analysis, accumulated impervious area increase from 22%(in2023) to 33%(in 2060) was observed in the study area. Furthermore, integrating this projected increase in imperviousness with future climate change into SWMM by considering three different scenarios i.e., S1(Climate Change), S2(Combined Land Use and Climate Change), and S3(Land use Change) resulted that climate change could cause an increase in runoff from 13.2% to18.3% in peak runoff and the contribution of land use could range from 9.1% to 18.6%. Similarly, in response to the coupled effects of climate and land-use change, the runoff would likely change from 24.53% to 39.66%. Conclusively, the study showed that despite climate change, intensive urban development by the substitution of impervious surfaces could also have a severe impact on the microclimate and hydrology of small catchments. Lastly, this study could provide a way forward for the future planning and management of water resources in small catchments which could be extended to larger catchments.

Electrostatic Dust Acoustic Solitons in Pair-Ion-Electron Plasmas

Using the reductive perturbation method,a Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation is derived to study the nonlinear properties of electrostatic collisionless dust acoustic solitons in pair-ion-electron (p-i-e) *** Buid model is chosen for positive ions,negative ions,and the fraction of electrons and charged (both positive and negative)dynamic dust *** is realized that electrostatic hump structures can be found when the dust particles are positively charged,and electrostatic dip structures can be detected for negatively charged dust *** solutions for these dust acoustic solitous are plotted and their characteristics are *** is found that the amplitude and width of the electrostatic dust acoustic solitons increase when the density of the dust particles and/or the temperature of the negative ions increases,and that the amplitude and width of these solitons decrease when the temperature of the positive ions *** pair-ion plasmas mimic electron-positron plasmas,our results might be helpful in understanding the nonlinear dust acoustic solitary waves in super dense astronomical bodies like neutron stars.

Theoretical calculations of structural, electronic, and elastic properties of CdSe_(1-x)Te_x:A first principles study

The plane wave pseudo-potential method was used to investigate the structural, electronic, and elastic properties of Cd Se_（1-x）Te_x in the zinc blende phase. It is observed that the electronic properties are improved considerably by using LDA ＋ U as compared to the LDA approach. The calculated lattice constants and bulk moduli are also comparable to the experimental results. The cohesive energies for pure Cd Se and Cd Te binary and their mixed alloys are calculated. The second-order elastic constants are also calculated by the Lagrangian theory of elasticity. The elastic properties show that the studied material has a ductile nature.

Quantum spin Hall and quantum valley Hall effects in trilayer graphene and their topological structures

The present study pertains to the trilayer graphene in the presence of spin orbit coupling to probe the quantum spin/valley Hall effect. The spin Chern-number Cs for energy-bands of trilayer graphene having the essence of intrinsic spin-orbit coupling is analytically calculated. We find that for each valley and spin, Cs is three times larger in trilayer graphene as compared to single layer graphene. Since the spin Chern-number corresponds to the number of edge states, consequently the trilayer graphene has edge states, three times more in comparison to single layer graphene. We also study the trilayer graphene in the presence of both electric-field and intrinsic spin-orbit coupling and investigate that the trilayer graphene goes through a phase transition from a quantum spin Hall state to a quantum valley Hall state when the strength of the electric field exceeds the intrinsic spin coupling strength. The robustness of the associated topological bulk-state of the trilayer graphene is evaluated by adding various perturbations such as Rashba spin-orbit （RSO） interaction αR, and exchange-magnetization M. In addition, we consider a theoretical model, where only one of the outer layers in trilayer graphene has the essence of intrinsic spin-orbit coupling, while the other two layers have zero intrinsic spin-orbit coupling. Although the first Chern number is non-zero for individual valleys of trilayer graphene in this model, however, we find that the system cannot be regarded as a topological insulator because the system as a whole is not gaped.

First-principles calculations by means of the full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method using the generalized gradient approximation with correlation effect correction（GGA＋U） within the framework of spin polarized density functional theory（DFT＋U） are used to study the structural,electronic,and magnetic properties of cubic perovskite compounds RbXF3（X = Mn,V,Co,and Fe）.It is found that the calculated structural parameters,i.e.,lattice constant,bulk modulus,and its pressure derivative are in good agreement with the previous *** results reveal that the strong spin polarization of the 3d states of the X atoms is the origin of ferromagnetism in *** energies and the magnetic moments of RbXF3 have also been *** calculated electronic properties show the half-metallic nature of RbCoF3 and RbFeF3,making these materials suitable for spintronic applications.

Influence of Seed Priming on Performance and Water Productivity of Direct Seeded Rice in Alternating Wetting and Drying

Direct seeded rice is promising alternative to traditional transplanting, but requires appropriate crop and water management to maintain yield performance and achieve high water productivity. Present study evaluated the effect of seed priming and irrigation on crop establishment, tillering, agronomic traits, paddy yield, grain quality and water productivity of direct seeded rice in alternate wetting and drying （DSR-AWD） in comparison with direct seeded rice at field capacity （DSR- FC）. Seed priming treatments were osmo-priming with KCI （2.2%）, CaCI2 （2.2%） and moringa leaf extracts （MLE, 3.3%） including hydro-priming as control. Among the treatments, seed osmo-primed with MLE emerged earlier and had higher final emergence, followed by osmo-priming with CaCI2. Tillering emergence rate and number of tillers per plant were the highest for seed priming with CaCI2 in DSR- AWD. Total productive and non-productive tillers, panicle length, biological and grain yields, harvest index were highest for seed priming with MLE or CaCI2 in DSR-AWD. Similarly, grain quality, estimated in terms of normal grains, abortive and chalky grains, was also the highest in DSR-AWD with MLE osmo-priming. Benefit cost ratio and water productivity was also the highest in DSR-AWD for seed priming with MLE. In conclusion, seed priming with MLE or CaCI2 can be successfully employed to improve the direct seeded rice performance when practiced with alternate wetting and drying irrigation.

Thermal Radiation Effects on 2D Stagnation Point Flow of a Heated Stretchable Sheet with Variable Viscosity and MHD in a Porous Medium

This paper proposes a mathematical modeling approach to examine the two-dimensional flow stagnates at x=0 over a heated stretchable sheet in a porous medium influenced by nonlinear thermal radiation,variable viscosity,and *** study’s main purpose is to examine how thermal radiation and varying viscosity affect fluid flow ***,we consider the convective boundary conditions and incorporate the gyrotactic microorganisms equation,which describes microorganism behavior in response to fluid *** partial differential equations(PDEs)that represent the conservation equations for mass,momentum,energy,and microorganisms are then converted into a system of coupled ordinary differential equations(ODEs)through the inclusion of nonsimilarity *** MATLAB’s built-in solver bvp4c,the resulting ODEs are numerically *** model’s complexity is assessed by plotting two-dimensional graphics of the solution profiles at various physical parameter *** physical parameters considered in this study include skin friction coefficient,local Nusselt number,local Sherwood number,and density of motile *** parameters measure,respectively,the roughness of the sheet,the transformation rate of heat,the rate at which mass is transferred to it,and the rate at which microorganisms are transferred to *** study shows that,depending on the magnetic parameter M,the presence of a porous medium causes a significant increase in fluid velocity,ranging from about 25%to 45%.Furthermore,with an increase in the Prandtl number Pr,we have seen a notable improvement of about 6%in fluid thermal ***,our latest findings are in good agreement with published research for particular *** study provides valuable insights into the behavior of fluid flow under various physical conditions and can be useful in designing and optimizing industrial processes.
