Formation damage due to fines migration is a major reason for well productivity decline for oil and gas *** fines are small enough to pass through pore throats causing pore plugging and permeability *** factors affect fines migration such as flow rate,salinity,pH value,reservoir temperature and oil polarity,as well as changes in chemical environment induced by Enhanced Oil Recovery(EOR)*** paper focuses on the effect of flow rates on fines detachment from the grain surfaces,which causing permeability *** the fluid inside the reservoir moves towards the wellbore,the fluid velocity increases,when the fluid reaches the critical flow rate these fines can be picked up into the *** fines captured by thinner pore throats causing pore plugging and permeability *** concentrations of nanoparticles were used to fix these fines on their sources and prevent their mobilization at high flow *** unique technique used in this study is changing the potential surfaces between fines and grain surfaces to prevent fines movement above the critical flow ***_(2)and MgO NPs used in this study can be adsorbed on the pore surfaces and reduce the repulsion forces between fines and pore ***_(2) and MgO nanoparticles at different concentrations(0.25,0.50 and 0.75 g/L)were used on treating the Abu-Rawash sandstone reservoir using Formation Damage System Cell *** experimental studies showed that using MgO NPs would prevent fines detachment from the pore surfaces and decrease the reduction of permeability at high flow rates more than SiO_(2) *** optimum concentration of MgO NPs was at 0.5 g/L as the permeability remediation at this concentration reaches to 64.83%.

Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Huntington's and Parkinson's diseases have multifaceted nature because of the different factors contributing to their progression. The complex nature of neurodegenerative diseases has developed a pressing need to design multitarget-directed ligands to address the complementary pathways involved in these diseases. The major enzyme targets for development of therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease are cholinesterase and β-secretase enzymes. In this review, we discuss recent advances in profiling single target inhibitors based on these enzymes to multitarget-directed ligands as potential therapeutics for this devastating disease. In addition, therapeutics based on iron chelation strategy are discussed as well.

A fully automated optimization process is provided for the design of ducted propellers under open water conditions, including 3D geometry modeling, meshing, optimization algorithm and CFD analysis techniques. The developed process allows the direct integration of a RANSE solver in the design stage. A practical ducted propeller design case study is carried out for validation. Numerical simulations and open water tests are fulfilled and proved that the optimum ducted propeller improves hydrodynamic performance as predicted.

The idea of adding reinforcing materials, or fillers, to polymers has been around for many decades. The reason for the creation of polymer composite materials came about due of the need for materials with specific properties for specific applications. For example, composite materials are unique in their ability to allow brittle and ductile materials to become softer and stronger. It is expected that good tribological properties can be obtained for polymers filled with nano-scale fillers. A soft plastic can become harder and stronger by the addition of a light weight high stiffness material. In the present work, the effect of adding different percentages of carbon nano-particulates to polystyrene (PS) on the mechanical properties of nano-composites produced was investigated. Based on the experimental observations, it was found that as the percentage of the carbon nano-particulates (CNPS) increased hardness increased and consequently friction coefficient remarkably decreased.

El-Ashmonein is a significant archaeological site with different buildings from various eras. Between the villages of El-Idara and El-Ashmonein are there mains of Hermopolis, one of the ancient Egyptian metropolis capitals of the fifteenth century of Upper Egypt, called the hare. The buildings in this archaeological site are exposed to many causes of destruction and damage. The remaining structures and granite free standing columns in this area are suffered from plenty of geo-environmental and geotechnical problems. The main objectives of this study are 1) to assess the current state of preservation of this important archaeological site, especially the basilica church with its free standing huge columns, 2) to analyze the different actions which cause the destruction of the archaeological site, in particular the old flash floods and earthquakes, and 3) to identify the geochemical and engineering properties of the construction materials of the granitic columns and other limestone structures of the basilica church by using different kind of sophisticated analytical and diagnostic tools and methods. The multi-criteria analysis allowed the integration of several elements for mapping the vulnerable zones. Results revealed that about 80% of the study area was exposed to high and medium old floods vulnerability because of the vicinity to the Nile River. The structural and non-structural measures recommended in this research will help the decision makers and planners to effectively develop strategies for future site management, intervention retrofitting and rehabilitation of this unique archaeological site.

Based on wave interference,a methodology to realize the total transmission phenomenon of SH0 waves is proposed in this *** a systematical theoretical investigation,an exact frequency of a flat plate consisting of another medium with finite length,is obtained,which is furthermore exemplified by the finite element *** frequency is the same as the classical Fabry-Perot condition and dependent on the thickness of the *** has been revealed that an SH0 wave,with its wavelength equal to twice of the length of another medium,can totally transmit across the medium without *** when the impedance changes in a specific range,the energy of transmitted waves can keep in a high level,which is *** limited by a flat plate,the Fabry-Perot condition is also suitable for a scraggy plate when the thickness variation is relatively ***,using the transfer matrix method,the wave propagation in a plate with multiple layers is quantitatively investigated,and the frequency analysis for total transmission is carried *** methodology,as well as the design scheme proposed,is achievable and artificially controllable,which opens a new prospect for the wave control and final applications in aeronautics and astronautics.

Background: Invasive breast cancer is the most common type of malignancy in women worldwide. Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 is a member of degrading enzymes required for tumor metastasis. Aim: To assess the prognostic significance of the Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 expression in invasive breast cancer and its association with the clinicopathological features. Patients and Methods: Cross-sectional study was conducted at the Oncology and Nuclear Therapy Unit, Suez Canal University Hospital. The study involved 33 females that were registered between January 1st, 2008 and December, 31st, 2012. The eligible participants had a confirmed non-metastatic invasive ductal carcinoma, underwent surgery that their paraffin blocks containing tumor were available. The participants’ tissue specimens were immune stained for Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 expression level in the hospital pathology lab. Survival analysis and correlation models were conducted to explore the association between Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 expression level with clinicopathological parameters and survival. High-throughput computational screening for twodimensional magnetic materials based on experimental databases of three-dimensional compounds

We perform a computational screening for two-dimensional(2D)magnetic materials based on experimental bulk compounds present in the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database and Crystallography Open Database.A recently proposed geometric descriptor is used to extract materials that are exfoliable into 2D derivatives and we find 85 ferromagnetic and 61 antiferromagnetic materials for which we obtain magnetic exchange and anisotropy parameters using density functional *** the easy-axis ferromagnetic insulators we calculate the Curie temperature based on a fit to classical Monte Carlo simulations of anisotropic Heisenberg *** find good agreement with the experimentally reported Curie temperatures of known 2D ferromagnets and identify 10 potentially exfoliable 2D ferromagnets that have not been reported *** addition,we find 18 easy-axis antiferromagnetic insulators with several compounds exhibiting very strong exchange coupling and magnetic anisotropy.
