Grayscale structured surfaces with nanometer-scale features are used in a growing number of applications in optics and *** scanning probe lithography achieves a lateral resolution below 10 nm and a vertical resolution below 1 nm,but its maximum depth in polymers is ***,we present an innovative combination of nanowriting in thermal resist and plasma dry etching with substrate cooling,which achieves up to 10-fold amplification of polymer nanopatterns into SiO_(2) without proportionally increasing surface *** nanopatterns in SiO_(2) with 400 nm pitch and 150 nm depth are fabricated free of shape distortion after dry *** exemplify the possible applications of the proposed method,grayscale dielectric nanostructures are used for scalable manufacturing through nanoimprint lithography and for strain nanoengineering of 2D *** a method for aspect ratio amplification and smooth grayscale nanopatterning has the potential to find application in the fabrication of photonic and nanoelectronic devices.

Background Schistosomiasis is highly endemic in sub-Saharan Africa and frequently imported to Europe. male urogenital manifestations are often neglected. We aimed to ascertain the prevalence of genitourinary clinical signs and symptoms among long-term African migrants in a non-endemic European country using a serology *** We carried out a prospective, community-based cross-sectional study of adult male migrants from sub-Saharan Africa living in *** serology tests and microscopic urine examinations were carried out, and clinical data were obtained from an electronic medical record search and a structured *** We included 388 adult males, mean age 43.5 years [Standard Deviation (SD) = 12.0, range: 18–76]. The median time since migration to the European Union was 17 [Interquartile range (IQR): 11–21] years. The most frequent country of origin was Senegal (N = 179, 46.1%). Of the 338, 147 (37.6%) tested positive forSchistosoma. Parasite eggs were present in the urine of only 1.3%. Nine genitourinary clinical items were significantly associated with positiveSchistosoma serology results: pelvic pain (45.2%;OR = 1.57, 95%CI: 1.0–2.4), pain on ejaculation (14.5%;OR = 1.85, 95%CI: 1.0–3.5), dyspareunia (12.4%;OR = 2.45, 95%CI: 1.2–5.2), erectile dysfunction (9.5%;OR = 3.10, 95%CI: 1.3–7.6), self-reported episodes of infertility (32.1%;OR = 1.69, 95%CI: 1.0–2.8), haematuria (55.2%;OR = 2.37, 95%CI: 1.5–3.6), dysuria (52.1%;OR = 2.01, 95%CI: 1.3–3.1), undiagnosed syndromic STIs (5.4%), and orchitis (20.7%;OR = 1.81, 95%CI: 1.0–3.1). The development of high-resolution nanosized photoacoustic contrast agents is an exciting yet challenging technological advance. Herein, antibody （breast cancer-associated antigen I （Brcaal） monoclonal antibody）- and peptide （RGD）- functionalized gold nanoprisms （AuNprs） were used as a combinatorial methodology for in situ photoacoustic imaging, angiography, and localized hyperthermia using orthotopic and subcutaneous murine gastric carcinoma models. RGD-conjugated PEGylated AuNprs are available for tumor angiography, and Brcaal monodonal antibody-conjugated PEGylated AuNprs are used for targeting and for in situ imaging of gastric carcinoma in orthotopic tumor models. In situ photoacoustic imaging allowed for anatomical and functional imaging at the tumor site. In vivo tumor angiography imaging showed enhancement of the photoacoustic signal in a time-dependent manner. Furthermore, photoacoustic imaging demonstrated that tumor vessels were clearly damaged after localized hyperthermia. This is the first proof-of-concept using two AuNprs probes as highly sensitive contrasts and therapeutic agents for in situ tumor detection and inhibition. These smart antibody/peptide AuNprs can be used as an efficient nanotheranostic platform for in vivo tumor detection with high sensitivity, as well as for tumor targeting therapy which, with a single-dose injection, results in tumor size reduction and increases mice survival after localized hyperthermia treatment.

The therapeutic promise of small interfering RNAs （siRNAs） for specific gene silencing is dependent on the successful delivery of functional siRNAs to the cytoplasm. Their conjugation to an established delivery platform, such as gold nanoparticles, offers tremendous potential for treating diseases and advancing our understanding of cellular processes. Their success or failure is dependent on both the uptake of the nanoparticles into the cells and subsequent intracellular release of the functional siRNA. In this study, utilizing gold nanoparticle siRNA-mediated delivery against C-mYC, we aimed to determine if we could achieve knockdown in a cancer cell line with low levels of intracellular glutathione, and determine the influence, if any, of polyethylene glycol （PEG） ligand density on knockdown, with a view to determining the optimal nanoparticle design to achieve C-mYC knockdown. We demonstrate that, regardless of the PEG density, knockdown in cells with relatively low glutathione levels can be achieved, as well as the possible effect of steric hindrance of PEG on the availability of the siRNA for cleavage in the intracellular environment. Gold nanoparticle uptake was demonstrated via transmission electron microscopy and mass spectroscopy, while knockdown was determined at the protein and physiological levels （cells in S-phase） by in-cell westerns and BrdU incorporation, respectively.

Light perception at dawn plays a key role in coordinating multiple molecular processes and in entraining the plant circadian *** Arabidopsis mutant lacking the main photoreceptors,however,still shows clock entrainment,indicating that the integration of light into the morning transcriptome is not well *** this study,we performed a high-resolution RNA-sequencing time-series experiment,sampling every 2 min beginning at *** parallel experiments,we perturbed temperature,the circadian clock,photoreceptor signaling,and chloroplast-derived light *** used these data to infer a gene network that describes the gene expression dynamics after light stimulus in the morning,and then validated key *** sampling time points at high density,we are able to identify three light-and temperature-sensitive bursts of transcription factor activity,one of which lasts for only about 8 *** and cryptochrome mutants cause a delay in the transcriptional bursts at dawn,and completely remove a burst of expression in key photomorphogenesis genes(HY5 and BBX family).Our complete network is available online(http://***/∼de656/dawnBurst/***).Taken together,our results show that phytochrome and cryptochrome signaling is required for fine-tuning the dawn transcriptional response to light,but separate pathways can robustly activate much of the program in their absence.

At present, all people know that, during the performance of any activity, each person is always under the influence of a set of external factors that can influence in their results. In fact, all people know that factors such as hour, accumulated fatigue, or mood, can be very influential in the productivity. However, there are other less studied factors that can equally be influential, to a greater or lesser extent. For this reason, in the present work are used different techniques belonging to Soft Computing, with the objective of detecting those most influential factors by the execution of a set of experiments under different simulated circumstances in a controlled environment.

＜正＞ This study has pharmacologically characterized the receptors involved in the vasopressor responses induced by clonidine, moxonidine and rilmenidine in pithed rats. For this purpose, Wistar rats were anesthetised, pithed and prepared for the measurement of blood pressure. Intravenous （i.v.） bolus injections of clonidine, moxonidine, rilmenidine and B-HT933 produced dose dependent increases in blood pressure, which were unaffected by saline. The vasopressor responses to clonidine and moxonidine, but not those to rilmenidine or B-HT933, were blocked by prazosin. Interestingly, the vasopressor responses to clonidine, rilmenidine and B-HT933, but not to those to moxonidine. were antagonized by rauwolscine. In all cases, the combination of prazosin plus rauwolscine produced a blockade similar to that produced when the antagonists were given separately. These results suggest that the vasopressor responses to: （1） rilmenidine and B-HT 933 are mainly mediated by alpha2- adrenoceptors;（2） moxonidine may involve alphal-adrenoceptors;and （3） clonidine are mediated by alphal/2-adrenocep-tors.

Impact and Analysis of Prognostic Factors in Patients with Non-metastatic Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Retrospective Single Institution Study

Objective: To investigate the impact of local tumor factors on the prognosis of non-metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients. methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of data from 278 consecutive esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients between January 2009 and December 2016. The prognosis factors such as the GTV volume, GTV maximum diameter, and GTV length were analyzed. Results: The results of ROC curve analysis showed that prognosis critical values of the GTV volume, GTV maximum diameter, and GTV length were 27.98 cm3, 1.80 and 5.85 cm, respectively. The result of the univariate analysis showed that the GTV volume (P = 0.0184), GTV maximum diameter (P = 0.0246), and GTV length (P = 0.0035) were the prognostic factors for overall survival;the barium meal length (P = 0.0149) was the prognostic factor for local control. The multivariate analysis showed that the barium meal length (P = 0.0013), GTV maximum diameter (P = 0.0047), and GTV length (P = 0.0032) as the independent prognostic factors associated with overall survival;the barium meal length (P = 0.0037) was the only independent prognostic factors for local control. Conclusion: The esophageal lesion length was the main prognosis factor for patients with non-metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Therefore, we suggest that the physician must give enough attention to these patients in clinical practice, and give active treatment.
