Heavy metal pollution is a key environmental *** extracting heavy metals could accomplish water purification and resource recycling *** is a promising approach with a facile process,adaptability for the broad concentration of feed water,and high ***,the adsorption method faces challenges in synthesizing highperformance sorbents and regenerating adsorbents *** is an environmentally friendly sorbent with low-cost production on a large ***,the selectivity behavior and regeneration of FeOOH are seldom ***,we investigated the selectivity of FeOOH in a mixed solution of Co^(2+),Ni^(2+),and Pb^(2+)and proposed to enhance the capacity of FeOOH and regenerate it by using external *** charge,the FeOOH electrode shows a Pb^(2+)uptake capacity of 20 mg/*** applying a voltage of-0.2/+0.8 V,the uptake capacity increases to a maximum of 42 mg/g and the desorption ratio is 70%-80%.In 35 cycles,FeOOH shows a superior selectivity towards Pb^(2+)compared with Co^(2+)and Ni^(2+),with a purity of 97%±3%in the *** high selectivity is attributed to the lower activation energy for Pb^(2+)*** capacity retentions at the 5^(th)and the 35^(th)cycles are ca.80%and ca.50%,respectively,comparable to the chemical regeneration *** industrially exhausted granular ferric hydroxide as the electrode material,the system exhibits a Pb^(2+)uptake capacity of 37.4 mg/g with high *** work demonstrates the feasibility of regenerating FeOOH by charge and provides a new approach for recycling and upcycling FeOOH sorbent.

A strange phenomenon of fire taking place at Arruhban area west bahr-Al Najaf area in Iraq was noticed in 2010 and smoke continued many months;this phenomenon reappeared many years later. This site is part of bahr-Al Najaf-Iraq NE Arabian plate, located in flat area near an archeological site of Christian temple called Tel Arruhban. To understand the causes for this fire in a non-residential area, field observations from repeated visits between 2010 and 2018 and on-site excavation operations were conducted. The results of analysis of soil samples, and on-site detection for gases and vapors showed that the phenomenon of burning and smoke generated at this site was due to external influences and that the presence of soil rich with organic materials helped to the existence of this phenomenon.

Superconductor samples of type (CoFe2O4)xGdBa2Cu3O7-δ (0≤x≤0.1) were synthesized by the conventional solid-state reaction technique, whereas nanosized CoFe2O4 was prepared by co-precipitation method with grain size of about 8.5 nm. The elemental content of the prepared samples was determined using particle induced X-ray emission (PIXE). The temperature dependence of real (χ’) and imaginary (χ?) components of AC magnetic susceptibility (ACmS) at different magnetic field amplitude (3-15 Oe) was investigated. The analysis of the temperature dependence of ACmS was performed using Bean critical state model. The values of the critical current density j c at T > T p (T p is the inter-granular loss peak temperature) were calculated as a function of magnetic field and nanosized CoFe2O4 content. It was found that the low nanosized CoFe2O4 addition content (x = 0.01) improves the critical current density j c of Gd-123 superconducting phase. The observed variation of j c with temperature indicated that the weak links are changed from superconductor-normal metal-superconductor (SNS) for free sample to superconductor-insulator-superconductor (SIS) type of junctions for samples added with nanosized CoFe2O4 of x > 0.01. We also discussed the experimental results in the framework of the critical state model to estimate the effective volume fraction of the grains f g using Cole-Cole plots.
