To determine the prevalence of congenital malformations and the proportion of cases diagnosed before birth;to specify this proportion according to the type of malformation and the sonographer qualification. methods: It was a cross-sectional study carried out at the Douala General Hospital in the obstetric and neonatal units over a period of 42 months, from January 2008 to June 2012. The procedure consisted of;firstly an explanation of the study purpose with consent of parents obtained, thereafter, the parents were interviewed and data extracted from their files. The new born had a complete clinical exam. morphological and biological assessment were done to ascertain diagnosis if needed. They were then followed up for 48 hours. Data were analysed using SPSS. Statistical analyses were mainly descriptive: mean, median, mode and frequency were calculated. Results: During this period, 6048 neonates were examined, 99 of whom had a malformation giving a prevalence of 1.64%. musculosk.letal defects were the most common (36.4%), followed by digestive tract defects (22.2%). Ultrasounds were carried out mainly in the second term. Among the malformed babies, only 16.2% were diagnosed during the prenatal period. The obstetricians did better than radiologist in the prenatal diagnosis of congenital malformations. All the urinary tract malformations and 33.3% of the polymalformations were diagnosed by prenatal echography. Among the malformed babies, 33% died within the first 48 hours of life and poly-malformed babies were more concerned (66.7%). Conclusion: The prevalence of congenital birth defect was 1.64%. The rate of prenatal diagnosis remained low, meanwhile one third of the affected babies die after births. An early diagnosis would anticipate on medical care at birth and allow therapeutics abortions when indicated.

Interferon-γ （IFN-γ） triggers macrophage for inflammation response by activating the intracellular JAk.STAT1 signaling. Suppressor of cytok.ne signaling 1 （SOCS1） and protein tyrosine phosphatases can negatively modulate IFN-γ signaling. Here, we identify a novel negative feedback.loop mediated by STAT3-SOCS3, which is tightly controlled by SENP1 via de-SUmOylation of protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B （PTPIB）, in IFN-y signaling. SENP1-deficient macrophages show defects in IFN-γ signaling and m1 macrophage activation. PTP1B in SENP1-deficient macrophages is highly SUmOylated, which reduces PTP1B-induced de-phosphorylation of STAT3. Activated STAT3 then suppresses STAT1 activation via SOCS3 induction in SENP1-deficient macro- phages. Accordingly, SENP1-deficient macrophages show reduced ability to resist Listerio rnonocytogenes infection. These results reveal a crucial role of SENP1-controlled STAT1 and STAT3 balance in rnacrophage polarization.

We present a new model of cosmology which appears to show great promise. Our flat space cosmology model, using only four basic and reasonable assumptions, derives highly accurate Hubble parameter H0, Hubble radius R0 and total mass m0 values for our observable universe. Our model derives a current Hubble parameter of , in excellent agreement with the newly reported (lower limit) results of the 2015 Planck.Survey. Remark.bly, all of these derivations can be made with only these basic assumptions and the current CmB radiation temperature . The thermodynamic equations we have generated follow Hawk.ng’s black.hole temperature formula. We have also derived a variety of other useful cosmological formulae. These include angular velocity and other rotational formulae. A particularly useful hyperbolic equation, , has been derived, which appears to be an excellent fit for the Planck.scale as well as the current observable universe scale. Using the flat space mink.wsk. relativistic formula for Doppler effect, and a formula for staging our cosmological model according to its average mass-energy density at every Hubble time (universal age) in its expansion, a persuasive argument can be made that the observable phenomena attributed to dark.energy are actually manifestations of Doppler and gravitational redshift. Finally, a theory of cosmic inflation becomes completely unnecessary because our flat space cosmology model is always at critical density.

Atomic force microscopy (AFm) was used for the morphological characterization and precise height meas-urements of two-dimensional molecular layers of carbocyanine dye 3,3’-di(r-sulfopropyl)-4,4’,5,5’-dibenzo-9-ethylthiacarbocyanine betaine pyridinium salt. The AFm measurements reveal three morphological types of molecular aggregates: leaves, stripes and spots. The leaves are stripes have same monolayer height ~1.4 nm and different crystal shapes: the leaves are monoloyers with the lens shape and the stripes are bilay-ers with the shape of extended rectangles. The monolayer height ~1.4 nm was interpreted as indicating the symmetrical pack.ng arrangement of dye molecules. In the symmetrical monolayer, the sulfopropyl groups of all-trans monomer units are located on both monolayer sides whereas the adjacent stack.d dye molecules have a lateral slippage providing the J-aggregate optical properties. The lower height of spots ~1 nm was explained by the model of an asymmetric monolayer with sulfopropyl groups of all-trans monomers occupy-ing the same position with respect to the monolayer plane. The pack.ng arrangement of all-trans monomers in the asymmetric monolayer corresponds to H-aggregate. The alternative models of the pack.ng arrange-ment in monolayers with mono-cis1 monomer configuration are discussed.

Chiral Recognition of Dansyl Derivatives with an Amino Acid-Based molecular micelle: A molecular Dynamics Investigation

In this study, the chiral separation mechanisms of Dansyl amino acids, including Dansyl-Leucine (Dans-Leu), Dansyl-Norleucine (Dans-Nor), Dansyl-Tryptophan (Dans-Trp) and Dansyl-Phenylalanine (Dans-Phe) binding to poly-sodium N-undecanoyl-(L)-Leucylvalinate, poly (SULV), were investigated using molecular dynamics simulations. Micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) has previously shown that when separating the enantiomers of these aforementioned Dansyl amino acids, the L-enantiomers bind stronger to poly (SULV) than the D-enantiomers. This study aims to investigate the molecular interactions that govern chiral recognition in these systems using computational methods. This study reveals that the computationally-calculated binding free energy values for Dansyl enantiomers binding to poly (SULV) are in agreement with the enantiomeric order produced in experimental MEKC studies. The L-enantiomers of Dans-Leu, Dans-Nor, Dans-Trp, and Dans-Phe binding to their preferred binding pockets in poly (SULV) yielded binding free energy values of -21.8938, -22.1763, -21.3329 and -13.3349 kJ·mol-1mily:Verdana;">, respectively. Wnt/β-catenin signaling plays a critical role in colorectal cancer(CRC)tumorigenesis and the homeostasis of colorectal cancer stem cells(CSCs),but its molecular mechanism remains unclear.B-cell lymphoma 3(Bcl-3),a member of the IκB family,is overexpressed in CRC and promotes ***,we report a novel function of Bcl-3 in maintaining colorectal CSC homeostasis by activating Wnt/β-catenin *** Bcl-3 suppresses the self-renewal capacity of colorectal CSCs and sensitizes CRC cells to chemotherapeutic drugs through a decrease in Wnt/β-catenin ***,our data show that Bcl-3 is a crucial component of Wnt/β-catenin signaling and is essential forβ-catenin transcriptional activity in CRC ***,Wnt3a increases the level and nuclear translocation of Bcl-3,which binds directly toβ-catenin and enhances the acetylation ofβ-catenin at lysine 49(Ac-k.9-β-catenin)and transcriptional ***-3 depletion decreases the Ac-k.9-β-catenin level by increasing the level of histone deacetylase 1 to remove acetyl groups fromβ-catenin,thus interrupting Wnt/β-catenin *** CRC clinical specimens,Bcl-3 expression negatively correlates with the overall survival of CRC patients.A significantly positive correlation was found between the expression of Bcl-3 and Ac-k.9-β-***,our data reveal that Bcl-3 plays a crucial role in CRC chemoresistance and colorectal CSC maintenance via its modulation of the Ac-k.9-β-catenin,which serves as a promising therapeutic target for CRC.

This brief note describes a method by which numerous empirically-determined quantum constants of nature can be substituted into Einstein’s field equation (EFE) for general relativity. This method involves treating the ratio m>G/ћm> as an empirical constant of nature in its own right. This ratio is repre- sented by a new symbol, m>Nm>m>Tm>. It turns out that the value of m>Nm>m>Tm> (which is 6.32891937 × 1023 m⋅k.-2⋅s-1) is within 5% of Avogadro’s numberm> Nm>m>Am>, although the units are clearly different. Nevertheless, substitutions of m>Nm>m>Tm> or m>Nm>m>Am> into the EFE, as shown, should yield an absolute value similar in magnitude to that calculated by the conventional EFE. The method described allows for quantum term EFE substitutions into Einstein’s gravitational constant m>κm>. Introduction: In developed countries in general and particularly in the Central African Republic, clandestine abortions constitute a real health problem. The aim of our work.was to study the method of carrying out clandestine abortions, to describe the profile of the providers and the complications that result from it. Patients and methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study of patients hospitalized at the University Hospital Center for Sino-Central African Friendship (CHUASC) from 2015 to 2019 on 236 cases. Results: We identified a total of 254 patients for 8039 live births in the same period, a frequency of 3.16%. The age of the patients was between 15 years old and 48 years old with an average of 25 years old. Singles accounted for 42.5%. Induced abortions were more performed among students (32.6%) and the unemployed 53.6%. Contraception was used in 11.5% of cases. The methods used were numerous: misoprostol (32%), the traditional method (18%), the mechanical method (50%). In this method, we note the dilation of the cervix by the cassava stem;Hegar’s candles;the probes, which are infusion tubes cut and introduced into the cervix, of which 2 cases had escaped at the level of the uterine muscles and emerged under the sk.n at the pubis part two years later. The practice of induced abortions in our series was done by medical students in 37.3% followed by unqualified staff in 49.7%. It took.place either at home or in centers managed by Non-Governmental Organizations. The aseptic conditions were not perfect. Some patients (43.2%) were aware of the ensuing complications. All complications were present: hemorrhage (60.7%), pelviperitonitis (23.6%), uterine perforation (6.6%), peritonitis (2.8%) and death (2%) related to sepsis. Conclusion: Clandestine abortion remains a real health problem for young Central African women.

The presence of both weathered rock. and fractured crystalline bedrock.aquifers mak.s Hydrogeology in Gbêk. region of C?te d’Ivoire. Access to water in this region is not easy. This study focuses on the influence of borehole depth, weathering thick.ess and electrical resistivity of the geological structures on borehole productivity that exploit the crystalline aquifer system. Bivariate analysis was used to determine the relationships between these factors and specific capacity for measuring borehole productivity. The values ranged from 0.0088 to 2.20 m3?h?1?m?1. The analysis shows that there is no correlation between productivity and weathering thick.ess. However, weathering depths between 15 and 35 m provide the highest specific capacity values (Qs ≥ 1 m3?h?1?m?1). For hydrogeological discontinuities interest, boreholes located in k., QH and H anomaly curve types were the most productive. As productivity diminishes with depth, a deeper borehole can be more productive if it reaches a geological structure that is favorable for groundwater flow. Those hydrogeological parameters are extremely important in borehole productivity in Gbêk. region.
