Evaluation of the Risk Factors for Pelvic Lymph Node metastasis in Early stage Cervical Cancer

Objective: This study evaluated the risk factors for pelvic lymph node metastasis in patients with early stage cervical cancer. material and methods: A cross sectional study was carried out in the Division of Gynaecologic Oncology at Bangabandhu sheikh mujib medical University (BsmmU) between July 2014 and July 2015 to evaluate demographic factors and histopathological findings of women with cervical cancer stage IB-IIA who underwent primary radical hysterectomy and bilateral pelvic lymph node dissection. Results: Fifty women aged 30 years or above were included in the study. Lymph node metastases were identified in 20% of patients. By univariate analysis, preoperative anemia, a history of smoking, tumor size greater than 4 cm and lack of cervical inflammatory reaction by histopathology were significant variables associated with lymph node metastasis. multivariate analysis showed that the lack of inflammatory reaction in the uterine cervix was the most important predictor for pelvic lymph node metastasis when adjusting for other variables. moderate to severe inflammatory reaction in the uterine cervix was 18 times less likely to have pelvic lymph node metastasis than those who had mild inflammation. Conclusion: An association was found between the presence of pelvic lymph node metastasis in cervical cancer and certain variables: the lack of contraceptive use, smoking, preoperative anemia, bulky tumors, invasion of deep two-third of the uterine cervix, mild inflammatory reaction in the cervix, and keratinizing carcinoma. After adjusting for other factors, presence or absence of inflammatory reaction in the cervix was found to be the most important predictor for pelvic lymph node metastasis.

Novel model of thermo-magneto-viscoelastic medium with variable thermal conductivity under effect of gravity

The basic equations for a homogeneous and isotropic thermo-magnetoviscoelastic medium are formulated based on three different theories, i.e., the GreenLindsay(G-L) theory, the coupled(CD) theory, and the Lord-shulman(L-s) theory. The variable thermal conductivity is considered as a linear function of the temperature. Using suitable non-dimensional variables, these basic equations are solved via the eigenvalue approach. The medium is initially assumed to be stress-free and subject to a thermal *** numerical results reveal that the viscosity, the two-temperature parameter, the gravity term, and the magnetic field significantly influence the distribution of the physical quantities of the thermoelastic medium.

New ternary superconducting compound LaRu2As2： Physical properties from density functional theory calculations

In this paper, we perform the density functional theory （DFT） -based calculations by the first-principles pseudopo- tential method to investigate the physical properties of the newly discovered superconductor LaRu2As2 for the first time. The optimized structural parameters are in good agreement with the experimental results. The calculated independent elas- tic constants ensure the mechanical stability of the compound. The calculated Cauchy pressure, Pugh＇s ratio as well as Poisson＇s ratio indicate that LaRu2As2 should behave as a ductile material. Due to low Debye temperature, LaRu2As2 may be used as a thermal barrier coating （TBC） material. The new compound should exhibit metallic nature as its valence bands overlap considerably with the conduction bands. LaRu2As2 is expected to be a soft material and easily machinable because of its low hardness value of 6.8 GPa. The multi-band nature is observed in the calculated Fermi surface. A highly anisotropic combination of ionic, covalent and metallic interactions is expected to be in accordance with charge density calculation.

Oblique collisional effects of dust acoustic waves in unmagnetized dusty plasma

Effects of oblique collisions of the dust acoustic(DA)waves in dusty plasma are studied by considering unmagnetized fully ionized *** plasma consists of inertial warm negatively charged massive dusts,positively charged dusts,superthermal kappa distributed electrons,and isothermal *** extended Poincaré–Lighthill–Kuo(e PLK)method is employed for the drivation of two-sided Korteweg–de Vries(KdV)equations(KdVEs).The Kd V soliton solutions are derived by using the hyperbolic secant *** effects of superthermality index of electrons,temperature ratio of isothermal ion to electron,and the density ratio of isothermal ions to negatively charged massive dusts on nonlinear coefficients are *** effects of oblique collision on amplitude,phase shift,and potential profile of right traveling solitons of DA waves are also *** study reveals that the new nonlinear wave structures are produced in the colliding region due to head-on collision of the two counter propagating DA *** nonlinearity is found to decrease with the increasing density ratio of ion to negative dust in the critical *** phase shifts decrease(increase)with increasing the temperature ratio of ion to electron(κe).The hump(compressive,κeshaped(rarefactive,κe>κec)solitons are produced depending on the angle(θ)of oblique collision between the two waves.

Natural Radioactivity measurement and Assessment of Radiological Hazards in some Building materials Used in Bangladesh

The radioactivity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in 24 samples of natural and manufactured building materials commonly used in Bangladesh were measured using HPGe gamma ray spectrometer. The results in the present study were compared with the world average and also with the reported data available in literature. The radium equivalent activity, the absorbed dose rate, annual effective dose, external and internal hazard indices, gamma index, alpha index, annual gonadal dose equivalent and excess lifetime cancer risk were also evaluated to assess the potential radiation hazards associated with these building materials. All samples under investigation were found to be within the recommended safety limit and do not pose any significant radiation hazards. This study can be used as a reference for more extensive studies of the same subject in future.

The Role of EFL/EsL Teachers＇ Idiosyncratic Knowledge Base in Their Professional Development in the Postmethod Premise

The present paper examines an EFL/EsL teacher＇s potential in generating and developing his/her own knowledge base and theories of teaching and learning independent of the knowledge base manufactured by the ＂experts＂ in those fields. It also makes an effort to pave the way for them to go beyond the edge and advance towards an innovation that deviates from simple, certain, controlled and established ways of teaching and conducting researches towards complex, uncertain and less-controlled ones. It scrutinizes how instead of simply testing, ＂idealizing and reifying＂ the traditional, already established literature, an EFL/EsL teacher takes it as a point of departure in order to develop their own framework based on their practical experiences. The readymade professional theories and pedagogies are mostly generalizations--sometimes overgeneralizations---of the patrons of certain ideology to privilege a certain political or cultural group to place it over others. This usually sets barrier to an individual teacher＇s professional development since they are often set back from ＂theorizing what they practice and practice what they theorize＂ denying his/her idiosyncratic knowledge base that is convincingly capable of helping him/her grow professionally. It also leads to denying the teachers＇ and learners＇ socio-politico-cultural faiths that mould up a person as a whole. However, this paper also recognizes the traditional knowledge base as the ground for individual teachers to leap offand advance towards innovation.

Dynamic modeling of a three-dimensional braided composite thin plate considering braiding directions

Currently, there are a limited number of dynamic models available for braided composite plates with large overall motions, despite the incorporation of three-dimensional(3D) braided composites into rotating blade components. In this paper, a dynamic model of 3D 4-directional braided composite thin plates considering braiding directions is established. Based on Kirchhoff's plate assumptions, the displacement variables of the plate are expressed. By incorporating the braiding directions into the constitutive equation of the braided composites, the dynamic model of the plate considering braiding directions is obtained. The effects of the speeds, braiding directions, and braided angles on the responses of the plate with fixed-axis rotation and translational motion, respectively, are investigated. This paper presents a dynamic theory for calculating the deformation of 3D braided composite structures undergoing both translational and rotational motions. It also provides a simulation method for investigating the dynamic behavior of non-isotropic material plates in various applications.

Analytical study of Cattaneo–Christov heat flux model for a boundary layer flow of Oldroyd-B fluid

We investigate the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model for a two-dimensional laminar boundary layer flow of an incompressible Oldroyd-B fluid over a linearly stretching sheet. mathematical formulation of the boundary layer problems is given. The nonlinear partial differential equations are converted into the ordinary differential equations using similarity transformatioris. The dimensionless velocity and temperature profiles are obtained through optimal homotopy analysis method （OHAm）. The influences of the physical parameters on the velocity and the temperature are pointed out. The results show that the temperature and the thermal boundary layer thickness are smaller in the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model than those in the Fourier＇s law of heat conduction.

As-Cast Acicular Ductile Aluminum Cast Iron

The effects of nickel （2.2 %） and molybdenum （0.6 % ） additions on the kinetics, microstrueture, and mechanical properties of ductile aluminum cast iron were studied under the as-cast and tempered conditions. Test bars machined from cast to size samples were used for mechanical and metallurgical studies. The results showed that adding nickel and molybdenum to the base iron produced an upper bainitic structure, resulting in an increase in strength and hardness. The same trend was shown when the test bars were tempered at 300 ℃in the range of 300 ℃ to 400 ℃. The elongation increased with increasing the temperature from 300 ℃ to 400 ℃. The carbon content of the retained austenite also increased with increasing the temperature. The results also showed that the kinetics, microstructure, and mechanical properties of this iron were similar to those of Ni-mo alloyed silicon ductile iron.

Head-on collision between single-and multi-soliton heavy ion acoustic waves in multi-ion plasmas

Head-on collisions among the single-and multi-soliton’s heavy ion acoustic waves(HIAWs) of multi-ion plasma are studied. The plasma consists of adiabatic positively charged inertial heavy ions, Boltzmann energy distributed light ions and kappa energy distributed electrons. The extended poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo(e PLK) method is applied for the derivation of two-sided Korteweg–de Vries(KdV) equations(KdVEs). The KdV single-soliton solutions(KdVsss) are determined using the hyperbolic secant method and the KdV multi-soliton solutions(KdVmss)are obtained using the Hirota method. The effects of superthermality of electrons, temperature ratios of electron to light ion and heavy ion to electron, and the density ratio of electron to heavy ion on phase shifts are investigated for the head-on collisions between two-soliton HIAWs. The effects of plasma parameters on angular frequency, phase speed, production of multi-soliton structures, and the head-on collisions among single-, double-, triple-, quadruple-, and quintuplesolitons are also studied.
