Structural,electrical and optical characterization of InGaN layers grown by m.VPE

We present a study on n-type ternary InGaN layers grown by atm.spheric pressure m.talorganic vapour phase epitaxy （m.VPE） on GaN tem.late/（0001） sapphire substrate. An investigation of the different growth conditions on n-type InxGa1-xN （x = 0.06 -- 0.135） alloys was done for a series of five sam.les. The structural, electrical and optical properties were characterized by high resolution x-ray diffraction （HRXRD）, Hall effect and photolum.neseence （PL）. Experim.ntal results showed that different growth conditions, nam.ly substrate rotation （SR） and change of total H2 flow （THF）, strongly affect the properties of InGaN layers. This case can be clearly observed from.the analytical results. When the SR speed decreased, the HRXRD scan peak of the sam.les shifted along a higher angle. Therefore, increasing the SR speed changed im.ortant structural properties of InGaN alloys such as peak broadening, values of strain, lattice param.ters and defects including tilt, twist and dislocation density. From.PL results it is observed that the growth conditions can be changed to control the em.ssion wavelength and it is possible to shift the em.ssion wavelength towards the green. Hall effect m.asurem.nt has shown that the resistivity of the sam.les changes dram.tically when THF changes.

We report the calculation of the sam.-species elastic scattering properties for the ultracold rubidium.-rubidium.(85Rb--85Rb) system.and the results are com.ared with other theoretical and experim.ntal results in detail. We present an im.roved potential for triplet ground states of the Rb2 m.lecule, and calculate the scattering lengths at and the effective range r3 using WKB and Num.rov m.thods for two rubidium.85 collisions in the triplet state. Also, we investigate the convergence of these scattering properties, i. e. the dependence on core radius and K0 param.ter using quantum.defect theory and the analytic calculations of scattering length obtained by Szm.tkowski. In addition, we present evaporative cooling and other results that include phase shift and cross section at zero energy lim.t.

The use of antibiotics in hum.ns and anim.ls has been m.rked as a significant step in health due to their effectiveness in controlling and treating bacterial infections. The m.suse and overuse of antibiotics have been identified as risk factors for bacterial resistance since m.croorganism. adapt and develop m.chanism. to defend against antibiotics. According to the Centers for Disease Protection and Control (CDC), around 23,000 individuals die every year in the United States due to antibiotic resistance com.lications. As a result, a dem.nd for alternative treatm.nts has been a goal for scientists as the m.crobes adapt to selective pressure. The aim.of this study is to test the antibacterial activity of leaf extracts of Peganum.harm.la and Haloxylon salicornicum.on both Gram.positive and Gram.negative bacteria on various m.dium.. The results of the study showed that both P. harm.la and H. salicornicum.inhibited the bacterial growth in two different m.dia. The results were also com.ared with different com.on antibiotics used in both hum.n’s and anim.l’s fields and showed a prom.sing outcom. as alternative antibiotics.

Recent world events have em.hasized the need to develop innovative, functional m.terials that will safely neutralize chem.cal warfare （CW） agents in situ to protect m.litary personnel and civilians from.derm.l exposure. Here, we dem.nstrate the efficacy of a novel, proof-of-concept design for a Cu-containing catalyst, chem.cally bonded to a single-wall carbon nanotube （SWCNT） structural support, to effectively degrade an organophosphate sim.lant. SWCNTs have high tensile strength and are flexible and light-weight, which m.ke them.a desirable structural com.onent for unique, fabric-like m.terials. This study aim. to develop a self-decontam.nating, carbon nanotube-derived m.terial that can ultim.tely be incorporated into a wearable fabric or protective m.terial to m.nim.ze derm.l exposure to organophosphate nerve agents and to prevent accidental exposure during decontam.nation procedures. Carboxylated SWCNTs were functionalized with a polym.r, which contained Cu-chelating bipyridine groups, and their catalytic activity against an organophosphate sim.lant was m.asured over tim.. The catalytically active, functionalized nanom.terial was characterized using X-ray fluorescence and Ram.n spectroscopy. Assum.ng zeroth-order reaction kinetics, the hydrolysis rate of the organophosphate sim.lant, as m.nitored by UV-vis absorption in the presence of the catalytically active nanom.terial, was 63 tim.s faster than the uncatalyzed hydrolysis rate for a sam.le containing only carboxylated SWCNTs or a control sam.le containing no added nanotube m.terials.

Twenty four species of Bird’s nest fungi belonging to four genera, nam.ly Crucibulum. Cyathus, Nidula and Sphaerobolus have been reported from.India with m.st of the reports were from.Northeastern states in the Eastern Him.laya region that is well recognized for its rich biodiversity. Am.ng these genera, Cyathus is the largest genus with 61 species docum.nted so far in the world including 17 species from.India. So far, only Cyathus poeppigii has been reported from.the Eastern Him.layan state of Arunachal Pradesh. In the present paper, another newly recorded species Cyathus striatus, is reported with its detail taxonom.c characteristics. It produces com.aratively sm.ller basidiocarps than the earlier reported collection from.Darjeeling (West Bengal). Further, the basidiospores are thin walled but com.aratively larger in size. The paper also lists all Bird’s nest fungi from.India with detailed inform.tion.
