Exogenous testosterone therapy on choroid in androgen deficiency

AIm:To investigate the effects of exogenous testosterone treatment on the choroidal parameters in patients with androgen ***:Right eyes of 24 patients with androgen deficiency and 31 healthy volunteers were included in the *** eyes were scanned for subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT),choroidal vascularity index(CVI),choroidstromal area(C-SA),choroid-luminal area(C-LA),choroidstromal to luminal area ratio(CSLR),and the choroidal parameters within central 1500μm of the macula(CVI1500,C-LA1500,C-SA1500,and CSLR1500)by enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography(EDI-OCT)at baseline,6th and 18th weeks of the exogenous testosterone ***:The mean SFCT values of the androgen deficient groups and healthy controls were 307.7±27.0 and 303.2±37.2μm(P=0.8).However,CVI,C-SA,CSLR,CVI1500,C-LA1500,and CSLR1500 were significantly different between the groups(all Pment,SFCT,CVI,C-LA,and C-SA were significantly decreased,and these parameters returned to baseline levels at the 18th-week visit(all P>0.05).However,CVI1500 and LA1500 significantly increased at the end of the follow-up period(Pment of patients with androgen ***,the increase in CVI within the central 1500μm of the macula persists even after 4mo.

We report the calculation of the same-species elastic scattering properties for the ultracold rubidium--rubidium (85Rb--85Rb) system and the results are compared with other theoretical and experimental results in detail. We present an improved potential for triplet ground states of the Rb2 molecule, and calculate the scattering lengths at and the effective range r3 using WKB and Numerov methods for two rubidium-85 collisions in the triplet state. Also, we investigate the convergence of these scattering properties, i. e. the dependence on core radius and K0 parameter using quantum defect theory and the analytic calculations of scattering length obtained by Szmytkowski. In addition, we present evaporative cooling and other results that include phase shift and cross section at zero energy limit.

We present a study on n-type ternary InGaN layers grown by atmospheric pressure metalorganic vapour phase epitaxy （mOVPE） on GaN template/（0001） sapphire substrate. An investigation of the different growth conditions on n-type InxGa1-xN （x = 0.06 -- 0.135） alloys was done for a series of five samples. The structural, electrical and optical properties were characterized by high resolution x-ray diffraction （HRXRD）, Hall effect and photolumineseence （PL）. Experimental results showed that different growth conditions, namely substrate rotation （SR） and change of total H2 flow （THF）, strongly affect the properties of InGaN layers. This case can be clearly observed from the analytical results. When the SR speed decreased, the HRXRD scan peak of the samples shifted along a higher angle. Therefore, increasing the SR speed changed important structural properties of InGaN alloys such as peak broadening, values of strain, lattice parameters and defects including tilt, twist and dislocation density. From PL results it is observed that the growth conditions can be changed to control the emission wavelength and it is possible to shift the emission wavelength towards the green. Hall effect measurement has shown that the resistivity of the samples changes dramatically when THF changes.

Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S film samples are prepared by a spray pyrolysis technique using aqueous solutions of CdC_(l2),ZnC_(l2),SC(NH2)2 and deionized water,which are atomized using compressed air as the carrier gas onto glass substrates with different water(H2O)concentrations.H2O is used as the *** prepared films are characterized by means of XRD and UV−VIS *** results reveal that the structures and properties of the films are greatly affected by the H2O *** in a certain range of concentrations promotes the formation of the Cd_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)S films and improves the properties of the films.

In the vicinity of Konya （Turkey）,mafic,micro-porphyritic sub-volcanic rocks intrude into the mesozoic units,which represents the only example of such a rock type in the region.40Ar/39Ar dating of two whole rock samples from the sub-volcanics gave ages of 13.72±0.13 and 12.40±0.11 ma,suggesting temporal association to the Late miocene-Pliocene high-K calc-alkaline volcanism in the *** mineral chemistry and geochemical data permit us to classify the rocks as ＂minette＂ *** include diopside and phlogopite phenocrysts in a microcrystalline groundmass composed of sanidine,phlogopite,diopside and *** and ocelli-like globular structures occur commonly in the *** terms of major elements,the lamprophyres are calcalkaline,and potassic to ultrapotassic *** the lamprophyres display strong enrichments in LILE （Rb,Ba,K,Sr）,radiogenic elements （Th,U） and LREE （La,Ce） and prominent negative Nb,Ta,and Ti anomalies on primordial mantle-normalized trace element *** data suggest that the lamprophyres and high-K calc-alkaline rocks in the region derived from a subduction-modified lithospheric mantle source affected by different metasomatic *** magmatism sourced phlogopite-bearing veins generated by sediment-related metasomatism via subduction,but high-K calc-alkaline magmas are possibly derived from a mantle source affected by fluid-rich metasomatism.

Twenty four species of Bird’s nest fungi belonging to four genera, namely Crucibulum, Cyathus, Nidula and Sphaerobolus have been reported from India with most of the reports were from Northeastern states in the Eastern Himalaya region that is well recognized for its rich biodiversity. Among these genera, Cyathus is the largest genus with 61 species documented so far in the world including 17 species from India. So far, only Cyathus poeppigii has been reported from the Eastern Himalayan state of Arunachal Pradesh. In the present paper, another newly recorded species Cyathus striatus, is reported with its detail taxonomic characteristics. It produces comparatively smaller basidiocarps than the earlier reported collection from Darjeeling (West Bengal). Further, the basidiospores are thin walled but comparatively larger in size. The paper also lists all Bird’s nest fungi from India with detailed information.

Objective:To investigate the cytotoxicity and the genotoxicity of standardized aqueous of dry leaves of Erythroxylum cuneatum(***)in human HepG2 and WRL68 ***:The cytoloxicity of *** extract was evaluated by both mTS and LDH *** study on *** extract was assessed by the single cell gel electrophoresis(comet assay).The protective effect of *** against menadione-induced cytotoxicity was also ***:Results from this study showed that *** extract exhibited cytotoxic activities towards the cells with IC_(50)value of(125±12)and(125±14)μg/mL for HepG2and WRL68 cells respectively,after 72 h incubation period as determined by mTS *** leakage was detected at(251±19)and(199.5±12.0)μg/mL for HepG2 and WRL68 *** study results showed that treatment with *** up to 1 mg/mL did not cause obvious DNA damage in WRL68 and HepG2 *** of *** did not show significant protection towards menadione in WRL68 and HepG2 ***:*** standardized aqueous extract might be developed in onler to establish new pharmacological possibilities for its application.

Effects of Tungsten and Boron Contents on Crystallization Temperature and microhardness of Tungsten Based metallic Glasses

Effects of tungsten and boron contents on the thermal properties and microhardness of W-Fe-B metallic glass system were studied. Thin foils, with thicknesses of 20 and 100 ktm, of the alloys were produced by piston and anvil method in an arc furnace. The structures of the foils were investigated by X-ray diffraction. Thermal stabilities of the alloys were examined by using differential scanning calorimetry. 20-μm- thick foils of all the alloys were determined to be fully amorphous, but crystalline phases were detected in the 100-μm-thick foils. It was found that crystallization temperatures of the alloys are between 1060 and 1177 K. Tungsten and boron content increases improve the crystallization temperature and microhardness of the alloys significantly, but deteriorate the glass forming ability of the alloys. It was also observed that for constant Fe content, increasing tungsten content to the level higher than that of boron content does not result in any further improvement in crystallization temperature, but improves glass forming ability significantly. The alloy containing highest total amount of tungsten and boron, W35Fe35B3o, has the highest crystallization temperature, 1177 K, and microhardness, 1634 HV.
