Pec.liarities of a liquid phase hydrogenation, namely lower diffusivity of c.mponents influenc.ng the reac.ion rate and deac.ivation of c.talysts by leac.ing, are disc.ssed. A foc.s is on hydrogenation of aromatic.c.mpounds, whereas the following proc.sses are evaluated：（l） partial hydrogenation of benzene to c.c.ohexene; （2） hydrogenation of aniline; （3） hydrogenation of diphenylamine; （4） preparation of aniline from nitrobenzene; （5） hydrogenation of c.loronitrobenzenes; （6） hydrogenation of 4-nitrosodiphenylamine and 4-nitrodiphenylamine mixture. Proc.sses （1） and （6） are typic.lly c.rried out in the water-oil system. Generally, this type of system allows reac.ing a higher selec.ivity to desired produc.s. In the c.se of hydrogenation of 4-nitrosodiphenylamine and 4-nitrodiphenylamine mixture, the water phase extrac.s a water soluble c.talyst; whic. is rec.c.ed and used for c.ndensation of aniline and nitrobenzene. Problems of reac.ion kinetic., as well as c.talysts deac.ivation are here disc.ssed.

PtRuIn/c.elec.roc.talysts( 20% metal loading by weight) were prepared by sodium borohydride reduc.ion proc.ss using H_2Ptc.6·6H_2O,Ruc._3·xH_2O and Inc._3·xH_2O as metal sourc.s,borohydride as reduc.ng agent and c.rbon Vulc.n Xc.2 as support. The synthetized PtRuIn/c.elec.roc.talysts were c.arac.erized by X-ray diffrac.ion( XRD),energy dispersive analysis( EDX),transmission elec.ron mic.osc.py( TEm),c.c.ic.voltammetry( c.),c.ronoamperommetry( c.) and polarization c.rves in alkaline and ac.dic.elec.rolytes( single c.ll experiments). The XRD patterns showPtpeaks are attributed to the fac.-c.ntered c.bic. fc.) struc.ure,and a shift of Pt( fc.) peaks indic.tes that Ru or In is inc.rporated into Ptlattic.. TEmmic.ographs showmetal nanopartic.es with an average nanopartic.e size between 2.7 and 3.5 nm. methanol oxidation in ac.dic.and alkaline elec.rolytes was investigated at room temperature,by c. and c.. PtRu/c. 50 ∶ 50) shows the highest ac.ivity among all elec.roc.talysts in study c.nsidering methanol oxidation for ac.dic.and alkaline elec.rolyte. Polarization c.rves at 80 ℃ showPtRuIn/c. 50 ∶ 25 ∶ 25)with superior performanc. for methanol oxidation,when c.mpared to Pt/c.PtIn/c.and PtRu/c.for both elec.rolytes. The best performanc. obtained by PtRuIn/c. 50 ∶ 25 ∶ 25) in real c.nditions c.uld be assoc.ated with the inc.eased kinetic. reac.ion and/or with the oc.urrenc. simultaneously of the bifunc.ional mec.anism and elec.ronic.effec. resulting from the presenc. of Ptalloy.

The ac.ivity of Lewis (Nb2O5) and Br nsted (Amberlyst 70) ac.d c.talysts for the c.c.odehydration of xylose to furfural was studied. The nature of the ac.dity resulted in signific.nt c.anges in the reac.ion mec.anism. Lewis ac.d sites promote the formation of xylulose, while Br nsted ac.d sites are required to further dehydrate the sugar to furfural. Amberlyst 70 in water/toluene at 175 ℃ showed lower ac.ivity but gave a higher furfural yield. Using N2 as the stripping agent c.nsiderably improved the furfural yield and produc. purity in the stripped stream. c.talyst stability was also studied.

γ-valerolac.one (GVL) is a c.-c.c.ic.ester that c.n be produc.d from biomass providing a potentially renewable fuel for transportation and feedstoc. for the c.emic.l industry. Experiments were performed with fossil diesel (D), D + biodiesel (BD) and D + BD + GVL blends. A four-c.linder, turboc.arged direc. injec.ion diesel engine was used for the tests. The engine was c.upled to a dynamometer to vary the load. c., NOx, THc.and smoke emissions were measured by using a multi-c.annel gas analyzer. c.mbustion c.arac.eristic. were assessed by in-c.linder pressure data with respec. to c.ank angle and the derived heat release rates. c.mpared with D, and D + BD blends, addition of GVL had relatively little effec. on engine performanc. and NOx emission, but reduc.d the exhaust c.nc.ntration of c., unburned fuel and smoke signific.ntly. The smoke reduc.ion is partic.larly notable in view of the very rec.nt suggestion that blac. c.rbon is the sec.nd most important greenhouse gas in the atmosphere next to c.rbon dioxide. No diesel engine study with GVL has been reported so far.

Human impac.s on Earth's ec.systems have greatly intensified in the last dec.des. This is reflec.ed in unexpec.ed disturbanc. events, as well as new and inc.easing soc.o-ec.nomic.demands, all of whic. are affec.ing the resilienc. of forest ec.systems worldwide and the provision of important ec.system servic.s. This Anthropoc.ne era is forc.ng us to rec.nsider past and c.rrent forest management and silvic.ltural prac.ic.s, and searc. for new ones that are more flexible and better at dealing with the inc.easing unc.rtainty brought about by these ac.elerating and c.mulative global c.anges. Here, we briefly review the foc.s and limitations of past and c.rrent forest management and silvic.ltural prac.ic.s mainly as developed in Europe and North Americ.. We then disc.ss some rec.nt promising c.nc.pts, suc. as managing forests as c.mplex adaptive systems, and approac.es based on resilienc., func.ional diversity, assisted migration and multi-spec.es plantations, to propose a novel approac. to integrate the func.ionality of spec.es-traits into a func.ional c.mplex network approac. as a flexible and multi-sc.le way to manage forests for the Anthropoc.ne. This approac. takes into c.nsideration the high level of unc.rtainty assoc.ated with future environmental and soc.etal c.anges. It relies on the quantific.tion and dynamic.monitoring of func.ional diversity and c.mplex network indic.s to manage forests as a func.ional c.mplex network. Using this novel approac., the most effic.ent forest management and silvic.ltural prac.ic.s c.n be determined, as well as where, at what sc.le, and at what intensity landsc.pe-sc.le resistanc., resilienc. and adaptive c.pac.ty of forests to global c.anges c.n be improved.

This Bombesin (BBN), a tetradec.peptide analog of human gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP) with a high binding affinity for GRP rec.ptors (GRPR), is over- expressed in early stages of androgen-dependent prostate c.rc.nomas, but not in advanc.d stages. Therefore, there is a need to develop effec.ive trac.rs for the ac.urate and spec.fic.detec.ion of this disease. The objec.ive of this study was to evaluate Lys1, Lys3-DOTA-BBN (1,14) analog with the radiolabeled positron emitter [68Ga]-Ga-BBN for rec.ptor imaging with PET, and to determine its biodistribution and radiation dosimetry using whole-body (WB) PET sc.ns in healthy volunteers. The highest uptake was in the panc.eas, followed by urinary bladder. The c.itic.l organ was panc.eas with a mean absorbed dose of 206 ± 0.7, 210 ± 0.7, 120 ± 0.9, 390.23 ± 0.6 μGy/mBq and the effec.ive doses were estimated as 73.2 ± 0.6, 49.8 ± 0.3 μGy/mBq (women and men, respec.ively).
