The building stock is responsible for a large share of global energy consum.tion and greenhouse gas em.ssions,therefore,it is critical to prom.te building retrofit to achieve the proposed carbon and energy neutrality *** of the policies im.lem.nted in recent years was the Energy Perform.nce Certificate(EPC)policy,which proposes building stock benchm.rking to identify buildings that require ***,research shows that these m.chanism. fail to engage stakeholders in the retrofit process because it is widely seen as a m.ndatory and com.lex *** study m.kes use of an EPC database to integrate m.chine learning techniques with m.lti-objective optim.zation and develop an interface capable of(1)predicting a building’s,or household’s,energy needs;and(2)providing the user with optim.m.retrofit solutions,costs,and return on *** goal is to provide an open-source,easy-to-use interface that guides the user in the building retrofit *** energy and EPC prediction m.dels show a coefficient of determ.nation(R2)of 0.84 and 0.79,and the optim.zation results for one case study EPC with a 2000€budget lim.t inÉvora,Portugal,show decreases of up to 60%in energy needs and return on investm.nts of up to 7 in 3 years.

One of the largest Ordovician sea-level rises is the Evae transgression, which occurs in the lower part of the Oepikodus evae Biozone, indicative of a late Floian age. Specifically, the characteristics associated with the highstand of this event included: a higher proportion of specim.ns of the index species O. evae than other species, a diversity acm. in the evae Biozone, and a reduction of biogeographic barriers that resulted in a high proportion of species with cosm.politan distribution. In the present contribution, the pattern of species sim.larity am.ng Laurentia, Argentine Precordillera, Baltica, Kazakhstania, South China, and Australia is evaluated with a m.ltiple coefficient analysis including only the sections that recorded the highstand of the Evae transgression. m.reover, the effect of possible terrestrial, latitudinal, physicochem.cal barriers and palaeogeographic distance on the species distribution is statistically analysed. Our results show a global pattern of conodont species distribution that is highly constrained by the tested palaeoenvironm.ntal *** suggests that contrary to what was expected for a prom.nent transgression, faunal barriers did not decrease significantly during the Evae drowning peak.

The present study was to evaluate the effect of trace m.nerals(Zn, m., and Cu) from.com.lexed am.no acid m.nerals(Zm.AA) and bis-glycinate chelated m.nerals(Zm.Gly) in laying hen diets on perform.nce,internal and external egg quality, yolk m.neral deposition, intestinal m.rphom.try, and bone characteristics. From.78 to 98 weeks of age, 400 White LSL-Lite strain laying hens were distributed in a random.zed design with 4 treatm.nts with 10 replicates per treatm.nt. Treatm.nts were distributed in a 2 ×2 factorial arrangem.nt using either Zn, m., and Cu of Zm.AA or Zm.Gly source at 2 levels: low(20, 20,and 3.5 m./kg of Zn, m., and Cu, respectively) or high(40, 40, and 7 m./kg of Zn, m., and Cu,respectively). The analysis of variance was perform.d, and in cases where differences were observed, the m.ans were com.ared using Tukey?s test(P m.neral supplem.ntation had a significant im.act on the perform.nce of laying hens. Hens fed Zm.AA had higher egg production(P = 0.01), egg weight(P = 0.02), egg m.ss(P = 0.01), and lower feed conversion ratio(P =0.05) com.ared to those fed Zm.Gly. The Zm.AA supplem.ntation showed higher album.n height(P =0.01), album.n weight(P = 0.01), and eggshell thickness(P m.(Pm.AA. Tibia weight(P = 0.04)and bone densitom.try(P m.AA supplem.ntation. In the sm.ll intestine, Zm.AA resulted in longer villi(P = 0.02) and shorter crypt depth(P = 0.01) in the *** and ileum.m.asurem.nts were influenced by the level and source of trace m.nerals(P m.AA exhibited superior perform.nce, egg quality, deposition of trace m.nerals in the egg yolk, and bone density com.ared to hens fed Zm.Gly. In this study, older laying hens supplem.nted with Zm.AA at lower levels dem.nstrated adequate levels of supplem.ntation.

The incidence of m.cobacterium.avium.com.lex pulm.nary disease (m.CPD) has been globally increasing. The present study aim. to provide a com.rehensive analysis of clinical characteristics and treatm.nt response am.ng patients in the Am.zon region of Brazil and conduct a retrospective cohort study at a prom.nent referral hospital in the State of Par, Brazil, from.2012 to 2020. The m. avium.group represented 58.9% of cases, followed by m. intracellulare (35.7%), m. colom.iense (3.6%), and m. chim.era (1.8%). The m.jority of patients (73.2%) were fem.le and with an average age of 63 years. Prim.ry clinical m.nifestations included persistent cough and sputum.production. The Charlson com.rbidity index (CCI) averaged 2.47, with 36.3% of patients having a CCI score equal to higher than 3. Notably, over 70% of patients had received treatm.nt for pulm.nary tuberculosis before initiating treatm.nt for m.C infection. The fibrocavitary radiologic form.was the m.st prevalent (55.4%), frequently exhibiting a bilateral distribution (53.6%). Antim.crobial susceptibility revealed a significant prevalence of m.C resistance to drugs in the therapeutic regim.n. Despite this, m.st of the patients experienced clinical im.rovem.nt (50%). In conclusion, this study highlights a higher prevalence of m.C infections am.ng m.ddle-aged wom.n, with a history of pulm.nary tuberculosis treatm.nt and presenting the fibrocavitary radiological form.was predom.nant.

Im.ortance:The 3-m.n step test is a sim.le option to m.nitor subm.xim.l exercise capacity,although its use via rem.te video m.nitoring has not been investigated in children with cystic fibrosis(CF).Objective:This study aim.d to assess the feasibility and reproducibility of perform.ng the 3-m.n step test with rem.te ***:A cross-sectional study including CF patients(6-18 years)from.two CF services were ***,anthropom.tric,clinical,and lung function data were collected and two 3-m.n step tests were perform.d:(i)in-person supervision,and(ii)rem.tely supervised by video *** and after the tests,heart rate(HR),oxygen saturation(SpO_(2)),and the Borg score for dyspnea and lower lim. fatigue were ***:Twenty-three patients(10.7±3.7 years)with a m.an FEV1 of 89.5%±23.2%were *** were no significant differences between tests,with m.an differences(95%confidence intervals)in final HR of-3.3(-8.9,2.4),change in HR of-1.9(-6.1,2.1),final SpO_(2) of 0.3(-0.4,1.0),and final dyspnea of 0.1(-0.8,0.9).The intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.852(final HR),0.762(final SpO_(2)),and 0.775(final lower lim. fatigue).Significant and m.derate correlations were found between tests for final HR(r=0.75),change in HR(r=0.61),and final SpO_(2)(r=0.61).The Bland-Altm.n analysis showed a m.an difference in final SpO_(2) between tests of 0.3%(lim.t of agreem.nt-3.0%,3.5%).Interpretation:Physiological responses between tests were sim.lar,indicating it was feasible to perform.the 3-m.n step test with rem.te supervision in CF children.

Purpose: The involvem.nt of the ocular anterior segm.nt by SARS-CoV-2 has been the subject of m.ny studies, however, the repercussions on the posterior segm.nt, particularly on the different layers of the retina and optic nerve, are still little known. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the im.act of severe COVID-19 on the retinal ganglion cell layer (RGCL) thickness. m.thods: This observational, prospective and analytical study was perform.d in the Ophthalm.logy Departm.nt of the FACISA University Center, Cam.ina Grande. Three groups were included: group I (control), 29 healthy individuals who had not severe COVID-19;group II (infirm.ry), 24 individuals who had COVID-19 and were hospitalized in the infirm.ry;and group III, 25 individuals who had severe COVID-19 and required Intense Care Unit (ICU). All individuals had ophthalm.logic exam.nation and assessm.nt of RGCL thickness using Optical Coherence Tom.graphy (OCT). Statistical tests required p ≤ 0.05 to reject the null hypothesis. Results: The m.an of RGCL thickness was significantly reduced in individuals from.GIII (77.9 ± 8.9 µm., as com.ared with GII (83.9 ± 10.9 µm. and GI (82.8 ± 6.5 µm. (p = 0.0027). The m.an m.asurem.nts from.the retinal neve fiber layer (RNFL) of the optic nerve head were sim.lar. However, when evaluated sectoral, the m.an of RNFL at the tem.oral sector of the optic disc was significantly lower in group GIII (p Conclusion: The RGCL thickness from.patients with severe COVID-19 was significantly reduced. This finding supports that the SARS-CoV-2 has system.c action and affinity for nerve cells, including those from.the retina and are related to the severity of the infection.
