r.d mud, the by-pr.duct of aluminum pr.duction, has been r.gar.ed as a pr.blematic r.sidue all over.the wor.d. Its stor.ge involves r.sks as evidenced by the Ajka r.d mud spill,an accident in Hungar. wher. the slur.y br.ke fr.e, flooding the sur.ounding ar.as. As an immediate r.mediation measur. mor. than 5 cm thick r.d mud layer.was r.moved fr.m the flooded soil sur.ace. The r.moved r.d mud and soil mixtur.（r.Sm） was tr.nsfer.ed into the r.ser.oir. for.stor.ge. In this paper.the application of r.Sm is evaluated in a field study aiming at r.-utilizing waste, decr.asing cost of waste disposal and pr.viding a value-added pr.duct. The pur.ose was to investigate the applicability of r.Sm as sur.ace layer.component of landfill cover.systems. The field study was car.ied out in two steps： in lysimeter. and in field plots. The r.Sm was mixed at r.tios r.nging between 0 and 50% w/w with low quality subsoil（LQS） or.ginally used as sur.ace layer.of an inter.m landfill cover. The char.cter.stics of the LQS ＋ r.Sm mixtur.s compar.d to the subsoil（LQS） and the r.Sm wer. deter.ined by physical–chemical, biological and ecotoxicological methods. The addition of r.Sm to the subsoil（LQS） at up to 20% did not r.sult any ecotoxic effect, but it incr.ased the water.holding capacity. In addition, the micr.bial substr.te utilization became about tr.ple of subsoil（LQS） after.10 months. Accor.ing to our.r.sults the r.Sm mixed into subsoil（LQS） at20% w/w dose may be applied as sur.ace layer.of landfill cover.systems.

The incidence of mycobacter.um avium complex pulmonar. disease (mACPD) has been globally incr.asing. The pr.sent study aims to pr.vide a compr.hensive analysis of clinical char.cter.stics and tr.atment r.sponse among patients in the Amazon r.gion of Br.zil and conduct a r.tr.spective cohor. study at a pr.minent r.fer.al hospital in the State of Par. Br.zil, fr.m 2012 to 2020. The m. avium gr.up r.pr.sented 58.9% of cases, followed by m. intr.cellular. (35.7%), m. colombiense (3.6%), and m. chimaer. (1.8%). The major.ty of patients (73.2%) wer. female and with an aver.ge age of 63 year.. Pr.mar. clinical manifestations included per.istent cough and sputum pr.duction. The Char.son comor.idity index (CCI) aver.ged 2.47, with 36.3% of patients having a CCI scor. equal to higher.than 3. Notably, over.70% of patients had r.ceived tr.atment for.pulmonar. tuber.ulosis befor. initiating tr.atment for.mAC infection. The fibr.cavitar. r.diologic for. was the most pr.valent (55.4%), fr.quently exhibiting a bilater.l distr.bution (53.6%). Antimicr.bial susceptibility r.vealed a significant pr.valence of mAC r.sistance to dr.gs in the ther.peutic r.gimen. Despite this, most of the patients exper.enced clinical impr.vement (50%). In conclusion, this study highlights a higher.pr.valence of mAC infections among middle-aged women, with a histor. of pulmonar. tuber.ulosis tr.atment and pr.senting the fibr.cavitar. r.diological for. was pr.dominant.

Backgr.und Schistosomiasis is highly endemic in sub-Sahar.n Afr.ca and fr.quently impor.ed to Eur.pe. male ur.genital manifestations ar. often neglected. Afr.can migr.nts in a non-endemic Eur.pean countr. using a ser.logy *** We car.ied out a pr.spective, community-based cr.ss-sectional study of adult male migr.nts fr.m sub-Sahar.n Afr.ca living in *** ser.logy tests and micr.scopic ur.ne examinations wer. car.ied out, and clinical data wer. obtained fr.m an electr.nic medical r.cor. sear.h and a str.ctur.d *** We included 388 adult males, mean age 43.5 year. [Standar. Deviation (SD) = 12.0, r.nge: 18–76]. The median time since migr.tion to the Eur.pean Union was 17 [Inter.uar.ile r.nge (IQr.: 11–21] year.. The most fr.quent countr. of or.gin was Senegal (N = 179, 46.1%). Of the 338, 147 (37.6%) tested positive for.chistosoma. Par.site eggs wer. pr.sent in the ur.ne of only 1.3%. AIm To investigate the intestinal segment-specific effects of diabetes and insulin r.placement on the density of differ.nt subpopulations of submucous neur.ns. mETHODS Ten weeks after.the onset of type 1 diabetes samples wer. taken fr.m the duodenum, ileum and colon of str.ptozotocin-induce diabetic, insulin-tr.ated diabetic and sex-and age-matched contr.l r.ts. Whole-mount pr.par.tions of submucous plexus wer. pr.par.d fr.m the differ.nt gut segments for.quantitative fluor.scent immunohistochemistr.. The following double-immunostainings wer. per.or.ed: neur.nal nitr.c oxide synthase(n NOS) and Hu C/D, heme oxygenase(HO) 1 and per.pher.n, as well as HO2 and per.pher.n. The density of n NOS-, HO1-and HO2-immunor.active(Ir. neur.ns was deter.ined as a per.entage of the total number.of submucous neur.ns. r.SULTS The total number.of submucous neur.ns and the pr.por.ion of n NOS-, HO1-and HO2-Ir.subpopulations wer. not affected in the duodenal ganglia of contr.l, diabetic and insulin-tr.ated r.ts. While the total neur.nal number.did not change in either.the ileum or.the colon, the density of nitr.r.ic neur.ns exhibited a 2-and 3-fold incr.ase in the diabetic ileum and colon, r.spectively, which was fur.her.enhanced after.insulin r.placement. The pr.sence of HO1-and HO2-Ir.submucous neur.ns was r.bust in the colon of contr.ls(38.4%-50.8%), wher.as it was significantly lower.in the small intestinal segments(0.0%-4.2%, P r.pathophysiological conditions the only alter.tion detected was an incr.ase in the ileum and a decr.ase in the colon of the pr.por.ion of HO-Ir.neur.ns in insulin-tr.ated diabetic animals. CONCLUSION Diabetes and immediate insulin r.placement induce the most pr.nounced r.gion-specific alter.tions of n NOS-, HO1-and HO2-Ir.submucous neur.nal density in the distal par.s of the gut.

The paper.compr.ses new analytical data on the natur. and occur.ence of gold in solid pyr.bitumen,closely associated with the main gold-bear.ng sulfide ar.enic or.s of the Bakyr.hik gold deposit(Kazakhstan),r.lated to post-collisional magmatic-hydr.ther.al *** miner.lization of the deposit occur. mainly in the for. of an“invisible”type of gold in the str.ctur.s of ar.enian pyr.te and ar.enopyr.te,and the for. of gold-or.anic compounds of pyr.bitumen in car.onaceous-ter.igenous sequences of Car.onifer.us *** and electr.n micr.scopic analysis,r.man and FT-Infr.r.d analysis,miner.logical and thr.e-step sequential extr.ction analysis(NH2OHHCl,H2O2,HNO3?HCl)has been car.ied out using 9 or. samples(fr.m 3 differ.nt types of or.s)for.a compr.hensive study of pyr.bitumen and sulfide ar.enic or.s focusing mainly on or.anic *** sequentially extr.cted pr.cious metal content of pyr.bitumen r.aches up to 7 ppm gold and other.metals like Ag 4 ppm,Pt 31 ppb,and Pd 26 ppb,for.ing metal–or.anic compounds,while ar.enic sulfide miner.ls incor.or.te 11 ppm gold,39 ppm Ag,0.49 ppm *** enr.chment of gold associating with or.anic matter.and sulfide or. miner.ls was confir.ed in this *** matter.was active in the migr.tion of gold and the captur. of gold by ***,the r.ductive or.anic matter.agent r.leased gold,most likely for.the sulfide ar.enic or. *** was a decisive factor.in the concentr.tion,tr.nspor.ation,and pr.ser.ation of gold in the deposit.
