Prognostic Value of N-Terminal Pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide in Acute Pulmonary Embolism

Patients with pulmonary embolism (PE) have a high risk of death and it is important to recognize factors associated with high mortality. N-Terminal pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide (NT-pro BNP) has recently emerged as a promising biomarker for risk assessment in acute pulmonary embolism (PE). The aim of this study is to detect the in hospital prognostic value of NT-pro BNP in patients with acute (PE). methods: This study included 64 patients diagnosed as (PE) with the mean age of 59.1 ± 16.5 years, 40 patients of them (62.5%) were male. All patients were subjected to 12 leads ECG. X-ray chest, laboratory tests including D-Dimer, troponin I, NT-pro BNP, Doppler ultrasound for the venous system of both lower limbs, Echocardiograhy and 64 multislices CT pulmonary angiography. Results: According to the admission level of NT-pro BNP our patients were divided into two groups: group I included 22 patients with normal NT-pro BNP (less than 300 pg/ml), and group II included 42 patients with elevated NT-pro BNP (more than or equal 300 pg/ml). Patients in group II were found to have a significantly higher incidence of heart failure (28.6% Vs 4.6%, p = 0.025), impaired kidney function (serum creatinine was 1.7 ± 0.6 Vs 1.1 ± 0.2, p = 0.018), tachypnea (85.7% Vs 54.5%, p = 0.006) and cardiogenic shock (26.2% Vs 0%, p = 0.014) but a significantly lower incidence of chest pain (21.4% Vs 45.5%, p = 0.04) and lower left ventricular ejection fraction (51.3% ± 16.9% Vs 67.3% ± 12.8%, p = 0.043) compared to group I. There were a significantly higher treatment with thrombolytic therapy (35.7% Vs 9.1%, p=0.021) and positive inotropics (35.71% Vs 4.55%, p = 0.006) in group II compared to group I. Also group II had a higher need for mechanical ventilation (26.12% Vs 4.55%, p = 0.04) and a longer in hospital stay (19.5 ± 10.3 Vs 5.3 ± 4.5, p = 0.001) than group I. Prevalence of Hepatitis B and C Virus in Health Care Personnel in Ibn sina Hospital, Rabat, morocco

Risk of infection by hepatitis B (HBV) and C (HCV) viruses remains a permanent problem, not only for health care workers but also for patients. It is often a major public health concern in low incomes countries. The aims of this study were to determine seroprevalence of viral hepatitis B (HBV) and C (HCV), frequency occurrence of blood exposure accidents (BEA) and identify key risk factors for infection among 601 health care workers of Ibn sina Hospital in Rabat. In this study nineteen health personnel (3.16%) were HBsAg positive and fifteen (2.50%) were anti-HCV antibodies positive. The seropositivity to hepatitis B and C in the surgical department respectively was 4.22% and 3.45%. Nurses were the most affected by hepatitis virus infections. We noticed that HCV came first with a prevalence of 4.44%. The seropositivity reached its acme within the health staff having practiced for more than 20 years, hepatitis C coming first with a prevalence of 4.27%. Globally, 34 health care personnel are positive for HBV or HCV, 32 among them were victims at least once of blood exposure accident (BEA) while practicing. The needlestick represented 81.25% of the BEA type. Prevalence of hepatitis B and C serologic markers in health care workers in our Hospital outnumbered that of the general population. Nurses, surgery department personnel and the professional having worked for a long time were the main factors behind the high risks of infections.

Features of sina Weibo altmetrics indicator

With statistical analysis of Weibo altmetrics indicator, the paper explored features of a typical altmetrics indicator in Chinese environment. Results show that the coverage of Weibo is below 1%. However, the coverage is underestimated due to limitation of tracking time and objects. Weibo mentions and discusses articles mainly from disciplines like 'General', 'Biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology', 'Health science', 'medicine' and 'Life science' etc. In addition to traditional distinguished interdisciplinary journals like Nature, preprint platform and open access journal like ar Xiv, PLo S ONE and SSRN also drew much attention from Weibo. meanwhile, 'Biology Science' and 'medical science' have the most highlighted journals. Weibo mainly tracks latest articles, reflected in that articles tracked within 180 days occupy 68.66%, it also tracks classic articles. Weibo authors prefer to disseminate, recommend and criticize articles that are adherent to daily life, funny, useful or related to health, which conveys social value and scholarly value beyond citations. Weibo altmetrics indicator is highly scattered and concentrated. 5.1% of the articles have harvested 50% of the weibos. Besides, articles tracked by Weibo gain global attention much higher than the average level.

ERCC1蛋白表达与局部晚期鼻咽癌同步放化疗疗效的关系

目的：探讨切除修复交叉互补基因1（ ERCC1）在鼻咽癌组织中的表达，并分析其表达与局部晚期鼻咽癌同步放化疗疗效的关系。方法收集2010年1月至2010年12月经鼻咽部肿物活检确诊均为非分化型非角化性鼻咽癌患者76例，给予顺铂单药同步放化疗。化疗方案具体为顺铂80mg／m2，静脉滴注，于放疗第1、22、43天进行；放疗采用常规分割照射，5次／周，鼻咽平均剂量74Gy（70～78Gy），同步放化疗结束后评价其近期疗效并随访远期生存情况。应用免疫组化法检测鼻咽癌组织中ERCC1蛋白表达，分析其表达与同步放化疗近期疗效及远期生存率的关系。结果76例鼻咽癌组织中ERCC1蛋白的阳性表达率为42.1％（32／76）。 ERCC1蛋白表达与鼻咽癌的T分期、临床分期有关（P＜0.05），而与性别、年龄及N分期无关（P＞0.05）。 ERCC1蛋白阳性表达者的有效率（RR）为75.0％（24／32），ERCC1阴性表达者的RR为97.7％（43／44），差异有统计学意义（ P＝0.008）。获得随访的72例患者的1年、2年、3年生存率分别为91.0％、83.3％、79.0％。 ERCC1阴性表达者的1年、2年、3年生存率分别为92.4％、87.8％、80.5％， ERCC1阳性表达者的1年、2年、3年生存率分别为87.9％、77.4％、77.4％，两者的中位生存期（ OS）差异无统计学意义（ P＞0.05）。ERCC1阳性表达者中不同分级的中位OS差异有统计学意义（ P＜0.05）。结论 ERCC1蛋白的表达可能是预测局部晚期鼻咽癌同步放化疗近期疗效及预后的指标。

Congenital Pulmonary Adenomatoid malformation: Unusual Revelation

Congenital pulmonary adenomatoid malformation (CPAm) is a congenital lung malformation that is distinguished by abnormal airway patterning during branching morphogenesis. It may lead to significant morbidity and mortality in infants due to complications such as pulmonary infections, lung hypoplasia, respiratory distress, and fetal hydrops. The diagnosis is usually prenatal thanks to morphological ultrasound;in postnatal, the anomaly may remain asymptomatic or show respiratory signs or complications. The postnatal diagnosis is based on computed tomography. In this article, we report a case of congenital pulmonary adenomatoid malformation in a 7-month-old patient who presented respiratory distress that is due to voluminous infected pleural effusion. The diagnosis of CPAm was suspected at the initial CT and confirmed at the control CT that was realized after treatment of the infection. The therapeutic management of CPAm is depending on the severity of complications and its evolution.

Purpose:To systematically review the risk of permanent disability related to road traffic injuries(RTIs)and to determine the implications for future research regarding permanent impairment following road traffic ***:We conducted this systematic review according to the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis *** extended search of the literature was carried out in 4 major electronic databases for scientific research papers published from January 1980 to February *** teams include 2 reviewers each,screened independently the titles/abstracts,and after that,reviewed the full text of the included *** quality of the studies was assessed using the strengthening the reporting of observational studies in epidemiology(STROBE)checklist.A third reviewer was assessed any discrepancy and all data of included studies were ***,the data were systematically analyzed,and the related data were ***:Five out of 16 studies were evaluated as high-quality according to the STROBE *** studies ranked the initial injuries according to the abbreviated injury scale *** studies reported the total risk of permanent medical impairment following RTIs which varied from 2%to 23%for car occupants and 2.8%to 46%for *** studies reported the risk of permanent medical impairment of the different body *** studies stated the most common body region to develop permanent impairment,of which 6 studies demonstrated that injuries of the cervical spine and neck were at the highest risk of becoming permanent ***:The finding of this review revealed the necessity of providing a globally validated method to evaluate permanent medical impairment following RTIs across the *** would facilitate decisionmaking about traffic injuries and efficient management to reduce the financial and psychological burdens for individuals and communities.

BackgroundThe COVID-19 pandemic posed a danger to global public health because of the unprecedented physical,mental,social,and environmental impact affecting quality of life(QoL).The study aimed to find the changes in QoL among COVID-19 recovered individuals and explore the determinants of change more than 1 year after recovery in low-resource ***-19 patients from all eight divisions of Bangladesh who were confirmed positive by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction from June 2020 to November 2020 and who subsequently recovered were followed up twice,once immediately after recovery and again 1 year after the first *** follow-up study was conducted from November 2021 to January 2022 among 2438 individuals using the World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief Version(WHOQOL-BREF).After excluding 48 deaths,95 were rejected to participate,618 were inaccessible,and there were 45 cases of incomplete *** statistics,paired-sample analyses,generalized estimating equation(GEE)analysis,and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to test the mean difference in participants’QoL scores between the two *** participants(n=1710,70.1%)were male,and one-fourth(24.4%)were older than *** average physical domain score decreased significantly from baseline to follow-up,and the average scores in psychological,social,and environmental domains increased significantly at follow-up(Pmale(Pmission during COVID-19 illness(Pmore chronic diseases(Pmale sex[adjusted odd ratio(aOR)=1.3,95%confidence interval(CI)1.0–1.6]were associated with reduced social domain scores on multivariable logistic regression *** or semi-urban peo

Evaluation of the Quality of the Setting up of Early mother-Born Interactions

The maternity process that has unfolded throughout the pregnancy, undergoes a turning point that occurs most of the time during the stay in diaper: place for installation of early mother-born interactions. The objective of the study is the evaluation of the quality of the establishment of early motherborn interactions as well as the effect of maternal feeling disruption on these interactions. It is a prospective study, focused on a total of 102 maternal-New-born dyads, in the unit of maternity series, at Rabat Children’s Hospital, University Hospital of Ibn sina. It was based on a scale and an evaluation grid: the mother-to-Infant Bonding Scale mIBQ and an evaluation grid of early mother-child interactions. The results showed that the age of the youth who is dominated at 60% (between 21 and 30 years), and that the primiparity was at 54% and 51% healthy;the correlation analysis between mIBQ and the grid shows that there is a significant correlation of average size with the emotional stability of the mother (p = 0.014 ment of the baby as his mother at the moment breastfeeding (p = 0.011 mily context (p = 0.017 mother-child relationship therefore depends on maternal capacities to recognize her place as a mother and to recognize the needs of their child, but it also depends on the child’s ability to show signs of attachment, his feelings of discomfort and pleasure.

Ogilvie Syndrome Associated to Parkinson’s Disease

Ogilvie’s syndrome is an acute dilatation of a part or all of the colon and rectum without mechanical obstruction. The diagnosis is based on computed tomography (CT) that excludes organic or functional colonic obstruction and?ensures the detection of signs of severity. Rapid diagnosis leads to conservative measures and the resolution of obstruction. Delays in diagnosis can lead to complications imposing a surgical treatment and increased mortality rate. We report the case of a 52 years old woman with Parkinson’s disease, who presented Ogilvie’s syndrome. The initial assessment did not show signs of severity, so medical treatment was introduced but without improvement;for this reason, the surgical procedure was indicated as a cecostomy. There are several theories that explain the pathophysiology of Ogilvie’s syndrome;the most likely is the dysfunction of innervation of the colon which is due to Parkinson’s disease in our case. The diagnosis is based on computed tomography. The treatment is pharmacologic, conservative or surgical depending on the severity of the disease and its evolution.
