＜正＞more than 50 percent of fields in eastern North Carolina require improved drainage for efficient production and other land uses. Historically, drainage practices focused on straightening and deepening natural channels to increase their hydraulic capacity and minimize upstream flooding. There are few un-channelized streams remaining in the region. Traditional channel improvements disassociated the channel from the natural floodplain thereby degrading riparian floodplain ecological functions. Intensive drainage systems that are necessary to provide adequate flood protection during wet periods tend to remove more water than necessary during drier periods. However, wetness continues to be a major concern to many landowners. Pilot studies were begun in 1994 to investigate, evaluate, and demonstrate alternative channel design geometries and management to enhance water conservation, water quality, and ecological functions while maintaining the necessary drainage function. Channel alternatives included : establishment of in-stream wetlands, lowering of the floodplain to reconnect the channel with a new floodplain, redesign of channels using natural channel design principles, and establishment of conservation easements to encourage establishment of perennial riparian vegetation. This paper discusses several recent projects that have been implemented to provide better management of drainage water and to restore or enhance ecological functions of large drainage canals. Nitrogen and sediment transport was reduced by 20 to 30 percent on a mass balance basis by incorporation of riparian vegetation and wetland systems within the drainage networks.

The purpose of the next internet of things(Io T)is that of making available myriad of services to people by high sensing intelligent devices capable of reasoning and real time *** convergence of Io T and multi-agent systems(mAS)provides the opportunity to benefit from the social attitude of agents in order to perform machine-to-machine(m2 m)cooperation among smart ***,the selection of reliable partners for cooperation represents a hard task in a mobile and federated context,especially because the trustworthiness of devices is largely *** issues discussed above can be synthesized by recalling the well known concept of social resilience in Io T systems,i.e.,the capability of an Io T network to resist to possible attacks by malicious agent that potentially could infect large areas of the network,spamming unreliable information and/or assuming unfair *** this sense,social resilience is devoted to face malicious activities of software agents in their social interactions,and do not deal with the correct working of the sensors and other information *** this setting,the use of a reputation model can be a practicable and effective solution to form local communities of agents on the basis of their social *** this paper,we propose a framework for agents operating in an Io T environment,called Res Io T,where the formation of communities for collaborative purposes is performed on the basis of agent *** order to validate our approach,we performed an experimental campaign by means of a simulated framework,which allowed us to verify that,by our approach,devices have not any economic convenience to performs misleading ***,further experimental results have shown that our approach is able to detect the nature of the active agents in the systems(i.e.,honest and malicious),with an accuracy of not less than 11%compared to the best competitor tested and highlighting a high resilience with respect to some

The dynamics of a single strain HIV model is studied. The basic reproduction number R0 used as a bifurcation parameter shows that the system undergoes transcritical and saddle-node bifurcations. The usual threshold unit value of R0 does not completely determine the eradication of the disease in an HIV infected person. In particular, a sub-threshold value rc is established which determines the system＇s number of endemic states： multiple if rc 〈 Ro 〈 1, only one if rc=Ro = 1, and none if R0 〈 rc 〈 1.

目的探讨环丙沙星与抗HER2抗体药物偶联物rc48联合用药时的抑瘤活性及机制。方法CCK-8法分别检测环丙沙星单药、rc48单药及两者联合用药(在不同配比条件下同时或序贯用药)对HER2阳性肿瘤细胞增殖的抑制作用。联合指数法评价2种药物联用的效果。结果rc48单药对SK-BR-3及NCI-N87细胞增殖有显著的抑制作用,IC分别为(4.91±1.15)ng·mL^(-1)及(14.54±0.85)ng·mL^(-1),最大抑制率分别为87.2%及82.3%。环丙沙星单药剂量在234.38~7 500 ng·mL^(-1)内无显著的抗肿瘤作用。当环丙沙星与rc48同时给药时,显著降低了rc48的抗肿瘤活性(Prc48序贯给药(先给rc48后给环丙沙星,用药间隔为6~48 h)时,抗肿瘤活性显著升高(Prc48与环丙沙星序贯给药(间隔6~48 h,6 h最佳)可增强抗肿瘤效果,两者有协同作用。

modelling the Effects of Vertical Transmission in mosquito and the Use of Imperfect Vaccine on Chikungunya Virus Transmission Dynamics

In this paper, a deterministic mathematical model for Chikungunya virus (Chikv) transmission and control is developed and analyzed to underscore the effect of vaccinating a proportion of the susceptible human, and vertical transmission in mosquito population. The disease free, and endemic equilibrium states were obtained and the conditions for the local and global stability or otherwise were given. Sensitivity analysis of the effective reproductive number,?rc?(the number of secondary infections resulting from the introduction of a single infected individual into a population where a proportion is fairly protected) shows that the recruitment rate of susceptible mosquito (Λm) and the proportion of infectious new births from infected mosquito (β)?are the most sensitive parameters. Bifurcation analysis of the model using center manifold theory reveals that the model undergoes backward bifurcation (coexistence of disease free and endemic equilibrium when rc?merical simulation of the model shows that vaccination of susceptible human population with imperfect vaccine will have a positive impact and that vertical transmission in mosquito population has a negligible effect. To the best of our knowledge, our model is the first to incorporate vaccinated human compartment and vertical transmission in (Chikv) model.

Effect of restoration technique on resistance to fracture of endodontically treated anterior teeth with flared root canals

This study was designed to compare the impact of post and core systems on resistance to fracture of endodontically treated anterior teeth with flared root canals and to assess their fracture pattern. Sixty central incisors were cut horizontally 2 mm coronal to the cementoenamel junction(CEJ). After root canal therapy, teeth were assigned into 6 groups(n = 10 each) based on a post system and used as follows: Group C, non-flared root received size #1 glass fiber posts(Control); Group AP, flared root restored with anatomical post; Group rc, flared root restored with size #1 fiber post and cemented with thick layer of resin cement; Group CR, flared root restored with size #1 and reinforced with composite resin; Group Cm, cast post-core; Group CP, CAD/CAm polymer-infiltrated ceramic post and *** post cementation, core build-up and crown insertion, the specimens were thermo-cycled up to 10,000 cycles(5 C/55 C; 30 seconds dwell time, 6 seconds transition time) and then statically loaded at 1 mm/minute crosshead speed using a universal testing machine. one-way ANoVA and Tukey HSD post hoc test(α= 0.05) were used for data analysis. Group C recorded significantly higher resistance to fracture values [(826.9±39.1) N] followed by group CP [(793.8±55.6) N] while group rc yielded the lowest fracture resistance values [(586.7±51.4) N]. The resistance to fracture of wide root canals can be enhanced by using one-piece CAm/CAm post and core as an alternative to the use of either glass fiber post, relined with composite resin increasing the thickness of luting cement or the use of cast post and core system. However, this was an in vitro investigation and further in vivo studies are necessary.

Diagnosing a baby’s feelings poses a challenge for both doctors and parents because babies cannot explain their feelings through expression or *** the emotions of babies and their associated expressions during different sensations such as hunger,pain,etc.,is a complicated *** infancy,all communication and feelings are propagated through cryspeech,which is a natural *** clinical methods can be used to diagnose a baby’s diseases,but nonclinical methods of diagnosing a baby’s feelings are *** such,in this study,we aimed to identify babies’feelings and emotions through their cry using a nonclinical *** in the cry sound can be identified using our method and used to assess the baby’s *** considered the frequency of the cries from the energy of the *** feelings represented by the infant’s cry are judged to represent certain sensations expressed by the child using the optimal frequency of the recognition of a real-world audio *** used machine learning and artificial intelligence to distinguish cry tones in real time through feature *** experimental group consisted of 50%each male and female babies,and we determined the relevancy of the results against different *** application produced real-time results after recognizing a child’s cry *** novelty of our work is that we,for the first time,successfully derived the feelings of young children through the cry-speech of the child,showing promise for end-user applications.

Pushover analysis of reinforced concrete frames considering shear failure at beam-column joints

Since most current seismic capacity evaluations of reinforced concrete （rc） frame structures are implemented by either static pushover analysis （PA） or dynamic time history analysis, with diverse settings of the plastic hinges （PHs） on such main structural components as columns, beams and walls, the complex behavior of shear failure at beam-column joints （BCJs） during major earthquakes is commonly neglected. This study proposes new nonlinear PA procedures that consider shear failure at BCJs and seek to assess the actual damage to rc structures. Based on the specifications of FEmA-356, a simplified joint model composed of two nonlinear cross struts placed diagonally over the location of the plastic hinge is established, allowing a sophisticated PA to be performed. To verify the validity of this method, the analytical results for the capacity curves and the failure mechanism derived from three different full-size rc frames are compared with the experimental measurements. By considering shear failure at BCJs, the proposed nonlinear analytical procedures can be used to estimate the structural behavior of rc frames, including seismic capacity and the progressive failure sequence of joints, in a precise and effective manner.

众所周知，处于糖尿病前期者和糖尿病患者存在较高的心血管事件发生风险。然而，糖尿病前期和糖尿病与亚临床心肌损害发生间的关系尚不明确。方法与结果：应用高敏心肌肌钙蛋白T （highly sensitive cardiac troponin T hs-cTnT）分析，测定社区动脉粥样硬化风险研究中9331例受试者两个时间点（间隔6年）的心肌肌钙蛋白T（cardiac troponin T，cTnT）水平，所有受试者为无糖尿病或处于糖尿病前期，或糖尿病不伴心血管疾病（包括心电图检测出来的无临床症状的心肌梗死）。
