AIm To evaluate the effects of asymmetric dimethylarginine(ADmA) in renal arteries from portal hypertensive and cirrhotic *** rat renal arteries from sham(n = 15), pre-hepatic portal hypertension(PPVL; n = 15) and bile duct ligation and excision-induced cirrhosis(BDL; n = 15) were precontracted with norepinephrine, and additional contractions were induced with ADmA(10-6-10-3 mol/L), an endogenous inhibitor of nitric oxide(NO) synthase. Concentration-response curves to acetylcholine(1 × 10-9^(-3) × 10^(-6) mol/L) were determined in precontractedrenal artery segments with norepinephrine in the absence and in the presence of ADmA. Kidneys were collected to determine the protein expression and activity of dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase(DDAH), an enzyme that catabolizes ADmA. rEsULTs In renal arteries precontracted with norepinephrine, ADmA caused endothelium-dependent contractions. The pD 2 values to ADmA were similar in the sham and PPVL groups(4.20 ± 0.08 and 4.11 ± 0.09, P > 0.05, respectively), but were lower than those of the BDL group(4.79 ± 0.16, P m-dependent relaxation that did not differ, in terms of p D2 and maximal relaxation, among the 3 groups studied. Treatment with ADmA(3 × 10^(-4) mol/L) inhibited acetylcholine-induced relaxation in the 3 groups, but the inhibition was higher(P roup compared with that for the sham and PPVL groups. The m.rNA and protein expression of DDAH-1 were similar in kidneys from the three groups. Conversely, DDAH-2 expression was increased(P rther enhanced(P roup. However, renal DDAH activity was significantly decreased in the BDL group. CONCLUsION Cirrhosis increased the inhibitory effect of ADmA on basal- and induced-release of NO in renal arteries, and decreased DDAH activity in the kidney.

Virus-specific T cells play an important role in the resolution of hepatic infection. However, during chronic hepatitis infection these cells lack their effector functions and fail to control the virus. Hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus have developed several mechanisms to generate immune tolerance. One of these strategies is the depletion of virus-specific T cells by apoptosis. The immunotolerogenic liver has unique property to retain and activate na ve T cell to avoid the over reactivation of immune response against antigens which is exploited by hepatotropic viruses to persist. The deletion of the virus-specific T cells occurs by intrinsic (passive) apoptotic mechanism. The pro-apoptotic molecule Bcl-2 interacting mediator (Bim) has attracted increasing attention as a pivotal involvement in apoptosis, as a regulator of tissue homeostasis and an enhancer for the viral persistence. Here, we reviewed our current knowledge on the evidence showing critical role of Bim in viral-specific T cell death by apoptotic pathways and helps in the immune tolerance.

为了更好地提高温室的节水潜力,以西班牙的封闭式温室(Watergy项目)为研究对象,系统介绍了温室的闭路结构、节水节能与水处理等特点;以蒸散为基本原理设计2套水平衡公式,评估了温室的内外2套水平衡系统,论证了温室提高纯净水的可能性。结合试验期内的农作物产量,综合评价了封闭式温室的节水与农业生产能力。以2个月为试验周期,计算出总输入水量与总输出水量之差为244L,节水效果明显。农作物产量方面,同一时期种植的四季豆的水分生产效率要比同期在开放温室中生长的类似作物高出5倍(51kg/m3)。最后提出了提高纯净水产量的几点建议并分析了封闭式温室的应用前景与问题。

Low-Dose misoprostol versus Vaginal-Insert Dinoprostone for At-Term Labor Induction: A Prospective Cohort study

Introduction: Given the pharmacological change taking place in spanish delivery rooms, we designed this study to compare the effectiveness and safety of misoprostol (25 mcg/4h) to 10 mg dinoprostone in its slow-releasing vaginalinsert form to induce at-term labor. methods: In a prospective cohort study (2013-2015), 401 at-term pregnant women referred for induction (Bishop score ≤ 6), who gave birth at the rey Juan Carlos Hospital in móstoles (madrid, spain), of whom 241 participants were induced with misoprostol and 160 with dinoprostone. Patients were recruited by non-probabilistic sampling of consecutive cases as the inductions in the Obstetrics Block during the study period were indicated. results: The cesarean section rate was 14% for the misoprostol group and 19% for the dinoprostone group [rr = 1.38 (95%CI: 0.89 - 2.13), p = 0.145]. No differences were found in the vaginal birth rate in rom starting induction [44% vs. 53%, rr = 1.08 (0.90 - 1.29), p = 0.401], nor in the vaginal birth rate in requiring oxytocin or meconium fluid, or for maternal-neonatal complications deriving from the method employed. The percentage of cesarean sections due to failed induction was lower in the misoprostol group (15% vs. 39%, p = 0.028). The time between induction and giving birth was shorter for the dinoprostone group (20 h vs. 23.4 h, p = 0.018). Conclusion: Inducing delivery by low-dose misoprostol offers similar effectiveness and safety to induction by dinoprostone in its slow-releasing vaginal-insert form. However, our sample is limited, and few studies are available on the subject. Further analyses to draw solid conclusions are required.

In mixed fisheries where there is an increased ecological interdependence between two or m.re target species, the possibilities of fishing these species must be determined jointly, since catches of one species will impact the natural growth not only of that species but of the others, as well. The objective of this paper is to develop a predator-prey model for two major species caught by the EU fishing fleet on European Union fishing grounds. The predator and prey’s population dynamics follow the Lotka-Volterra equation and are assumed to be logic-based, and a lineal interaction between the predator and prey populations is assumed. Optimal single owner multispecies fishery management is analysed, and the applied model is solved, obtaining the equilibrium value of biomasses, catches, and net benefits of the mixed fishery. The results show that the msY of the predator is higher than that estimated by ICEs, while msY for prey is lower. The sensitivity analysis of the results reveals that the biomass levels of both species decrease as the discount rate increases, while catches increase.

This review highlights the key role that mycorrhizal fungi play in making phosphorus(Pi)m.re available to plants,including pathways of phosphorus absorption,phosphate transporters and plant-mycorrhizal fungus symbiosis,especially in conditions where the level of inorganic phosphorus(Pi)in the soil is *** fungi colonization involves a series of signaling where the plant root exudates strigolactones,while the mycorrhizal fungi release a mixture of chito-oligosaccharides and liposaccharides,that activate the symbiosis process through gene signaling pathways,and contact between the hyphae and the *** the symbiosis is established,the extraradical mycelium acts as an extension of the roots and increases the absorption of nutrients,particularly phosphorus by the phosphate *** then moves along the hyphae to the plant root/fungus *** transfer of Pi occurs in the apoplectic space;in the case of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi,Pi is discharged from the arbuscular to the plant’s root symplasm,in the mem.rane that surrounds the *** is then absorbed through the plant periarbuscular mem.rane by plant phosphate ***,plants can acquire Pi from soil as a direct absorption *** a result of this review,several genes that codify for high-affinity Pi transporters were *** plants,the main family is Pht1 although it is possible to find others such as Pht2,Pht3,Pho1 and *** in plants,mycorrhizal fungi have genes belonging to the Pht1 *** arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi we found L1PT1,GiPT,mtPT1,mtPT2,mtPT4,HvPT8,ZmPht1,TaPTH1.2,GmosPT and ***1,HcPT2 and BePT have been characterized in ectomycorrhizal *** gene has a different way of expressing *** this review,we present diagrams of the symbiotic relationship between mycorrhizal fungi and the *** knowledge allows us to design solutions to regional problems such as food production in soils with low levels of Pi.

本文对黄连素的抗脑肿瘤作用,以及与1,3-bis(2-chloroethyl)-l-nitrosourea(BC-NU)联合应用进行了实验研究。用集落生成率测定(CFE)对6个人类脑胶质瘤细胞株和大白鼠9L脑肿瘤细胞(胶质肉瘤)进行了离体研究。用姐妹染色体交换法(sCE),对9L脑肿瘤细胞进行了评价。同时,在活体实验中用集落生成率测定对脑内固体9L脑肿瘤的治疗进行了分析。在BCNU的浓度为23μm单独使用时,对6个人类脑胶质瘤细胞株可获得平均为43％的细胞杀灭作用(0.24Log Kill)。而在黄连素与23μmBCNV联合应用治疗中,则可见到平均为97％的细胞杀灭相加作用(1.55Log Kill)。在采用150μg/ml黄连素离体治疗中,9L细胞姐妹染色体相对数的增高超过底数的2.7倍。在活体实验中,黄连素与BCNU联合应用也显示出细胞毒性相加作用。

AIm: To evaluate the efficacy and the safety of azathioprine (AZA) and buthionine sulfoximine (BsO) bylocalized application into HepG2 tum.r in ***: Different hepatoma and colon carcinoma cell lines (HepG2, HuH7, Chang liver, LoVo, rKO, sW-48, sW-480) were grown in minimal essencial medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum and 1% antibiotic/antimycotic solution and maintained in a humidified 37 ℃ incubator with 5% CO2. These cells were pretreated with BsO for 24 h and then with AZA for different times. We examined the effects of this combination on some proteins and on cellular death. We also studied the eff icacy and the safety of AZA (6 mg/kg per day) and BsO (90 mg/kg per day) in HepG2 tum.r growth in vivo using athymic mice. We measured safety by serological m.rkers such as aminotransferases and creatine ***: The in vitro studies revealed a new mechanism of action for the AZA plus BsO combination in the cancer cells compared with other thiopurines (6-m.rcaptopurine, 6-methylm.rcaptopurine, 6-thioguanine and 6-methylthioguanine) in combination with BsO. The cytotoxic effect of AZA plus BsO in HepG2 cells resulted from necroptosis induction in a mitochondrial-dependent manner. From kinetic studies we suggest that glutathione (GsH) depletion stimulates c-Jun amino-terminal kinase and Bax translocation in HepG2 cells with subsequent deregulation of mitochondria (cytochrome c release, loss of mem.rane potential), and proteolysis activation leading to loss of mem.rane integrity, release of lactate dehydrogenase and DNA degradation. some of this biochemical and cellular changes could be reversed by N-acetylcysteine (a GsH replenisher). In vivo studies showed that HepG2 tum.r growth was inhibited when AZA was combined with ***: Our studies suggest that a combination of AZA plus BsO could be useful for localizedtreatment of hepatocellular carcinoma as in the currently used transarterial chemoembolization method.
