Background:The heterogeneity of patients with COVID-19 may explain the wide variation of m.rtality rate due to the population characteristics,presence of com.rbidities and clinical ***:In this study,we analyzed 5342 patients’recordings and selected a cohort of 177 hospitalized patients with a poor prognosis at an early *** assessed during 6 months their symptomatology,coexisting health conditions,clinical measures and health assistance related to *** Cox proportional hazards models were built to identify the associated factors with m.rtality ***:We observed that cough and kidney failure triplicate the m.rtality risk and both bilirubin levels and oncologic condition are shown as the most associated with the demise,increasing in four and ten times the risk,*** clinical characteristics such as fever,diabetes mellitus,breathing frequency,neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio,oxygen saturation,and troponin levels,were also related to m.rtality risk of in-hospital ***:The present study shows that some symptomatology,com.rbidities and clinical measures could be the target of prevention tools to im.rove survival rates.

Background: Leptospirosis is an important zooanthroponotic disease spread worldwide which infection is recognized as a re-em.rgent disease. Leptospirosis is a systemic disease of humans and domestic animals, mainly dogs, cattle and swine, characterized by fever, renal and hepatic insufficiency, pulmonary manifestations and reproductive failure. Objective: To study the seroprevalence of anti-Leptospira antibodies in an urban canine population. materials and methods: The study was performed in m.rch 2014 in stray dogs that had been captured in the districts of Coyoacan, Iztapalapa, Iztacalco and Benito Juarez in mexico City;117 dogs were analyzed, from each of which 5 ml of blood were obtained. serology was performed using a mAT test (microscopic Agglutination Test), finding that the antigens corresponded to 13 serotypes of Leptospirainterrogans. Three age groups were formed: Group 1) younger than a year (n = 28), Group 2) 1 to 6 years (n = 75), and Group 3) older than 6 years (n = 14). results: Of the analyzed sera, 28.2% were seropositive to one or m.re Leptospira serotypes, 74% of the positive seracoagglutinated with two or m.re serotypes. The most frequent serotypes were: Canicola, Icterohaem.rrhagiae and Portland-vere. serotypes Canicola, Pyrogenes, and Bratislava resulted statistically significant (p 0.001). The presence of anti-Leptospira antibodies in the blood of animals of 1 to 6 years resulted with a p 0.001. The sera from Iztapalapa reacted to nine serotypes. Conclusion: The 28.2% of seropositivity indicates Leptospira transmission in the canine population that was studied could exhibit a potential public health risk.

Antimicrobial Activities of Essential Oils against Common Hospital Fungi species

Introduction: In hospitals and other healthcare settings the presence of airborne and sedimented fungi is an extrinsic risk factor for opportunistic infections involving both immunocom.romised and non-immunocom.romised persons. In hospitalized patients, it is estimated that 9% of hospital-acquired infections are caused by fungi. Lethality rate varies from 40% to 100% depending on the immunosuppression degree of stakeholders. To prevent healthcare-associated infections, the control of environmental fungal contamination through use of sanitizing/disinfecting practices is basic. However, the widespread use of common disinfectants could promote the growth of antibiotic-resistant superbugs and cause environmental harm. These aspects stimulated the search of new antimicrobial agents. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of essential oils of mentha insularis req., mentha pulegium L., mentha requienii Bentham, Artemisia caerulescens L. ssp. densiflora (Viv), rosm.rinus officinalis L. var. albiflorus, rosm.rinus officinalis L. var. lavandulescens, and Ocotea puchury major m.rt. against fungi species frequently found in hospitals and potentially responsible for opportunistic mycoses. methods: The essential oils’ antifungal activity was carried out by agar disc diffusion technique. results: All tested essential oils are effective, though to a different degree, against both molds that yeasts assessed. The major antifungal activity was showed by mentha oils. Particularly, mentha requienii and mentha insularis oils were active until 1:8 dilution against rhodotorula spp. and 1:16 dilution against mixed molds, while m. pulegium was strongly active until 1:2 against both fungi. Conclusions: To the best of our knowledge, few or no data are available in literature on the activity of essential oils against hospital environmental isolates of fungi. results suggest their potential application in sanitation procedures of the hospital, and in general, of the “ca

目的探讨手助式腹腔镜肾切除术围手术期并发症的处理方法。方法回顾性分析1998-2004年377例手助式腹腔镜肾切除术患者资料,其中根治性肾切除术206例,单纯性肾切除术91例,根治性肾、输尿管切除术49例,肾部分切除术31例,对围手术期并发症类型、发生率及处理方法进行统计分析。结果377例患者术中估计失血量平均315．6 ml(30～7000 m1)。术中发生脾脏损伤、难以控制的出血、肠道损伤、肾蒂血管损伤、胰腺损伤等并发症14例(3．7%)。中转开放手术13例(3．4%)。术后发生肠梗阻、肺炎、切口疝、继发性出血、冠心病发作、血管栓塞、低钠血症等并发症48例(12．7%)。死亡2例(0．5%)。有腹腔或腹膜后手术史者围手术期并发症和术式中转率高于无手术史者。结论手助式腹腔镜。肾切除术仍会出现一些严重的围手术期并发症。局部粘连、肿瘤体积过大会增加并发症的发生。术中一旦出现严重出血、器官损伤等难以控制的并发症时应及时中转开放手术。充分的术前准备、正确熟练的手术操作可降低并发症的发生率。

In the mexican tropics the guava trees can grow and produce in any season, so they can be har-vested out of the period of high competition m.rketing (summ.r). It?studied the growth kinetics of leaves and fruits of guava trees at the dry tropical conditions of the state of Guerrero, in guava trees of four years old and was evaluated a non-destructive method for measuring leaf area from November to may. 100 sheets of 10 randomly selected trees were cut. It was found that leaf length X the width X 0.72581647 (conversion factor) gave an estimated leaf area which?was significantly correlated with that obtained by the integrator of leaf area. Both in length and width the leaf growth kinetics were sigmoid with three growth stages: In stage I (15 days) leaves grew 21.2% and 21.5%;in stage II (26 days) grew 73.6% and 68%;and in stage III (30 days). They Increased 5.2% and 10.5% in the prim.ry and secondary sprouts. The fruit growth in its equatorial and polar diameters corresponded to a double sigmoid kinetics. In stage I (61 days) it reached 1.9 and 2.3 cm;in stage II (62 - 102 days) it reached 3.09 and 3.62 cm;and in stage III (103 to 126 days) it reached 4.63 and 5.13 cm, as well the physiological maturity of fruit.

strong>Introduction:strong> Post-hospital syndrome (PHs) is defined as a period of vulnerability during the first 30 days after a patient is discharged from hospital, in which multiple factors come into play. Hyponatremia is the most frequent hydroelectrolytic disorder in hospitalized patients and may be related to the appearance of PHs. strong>Objective: strong>The objective is to estimate the prevalence of PHs that is assessed as the rate of readmissions in the first 30 days after discharge, in patients with hyponatremia. strong>material and methods:strong> It is a descriptive observational study of patients with hyponatremia who were discharged from 1 september 2010 to 2 February 2020 at the Internal medicine service of the Hospital University of san Juan (Alicante, spain). strong>results:strong> Of the 25 included patients, 5 (20%) were readmitted within a month of discharge, after a mean of 11.4 days (standard deviation [sD] 5.1). The overall m.rtality of the study was 20% (n = 5), with one case of death in the first 30 days post-hospitalization (4%). In 12 patients (48%) the origin of the hyponatremia was undetermined. The most frequently recorded etiology for the condition was pharmacological (n = 7, 28%), and there was pronounced variability in its clinical and laboratory study. The most widely used corrective measure was drug withdrawal, in 16 patients (64%). Water intake restriction was the most common treatment after discharge (5 patients, 20%), followed by urea (2 patients, 8%), while tolvaptan was not used. strong>Conclusion: strong>Hyponatremia may be the cause of PHs, which could increase the rate of early readmission. Hyponatremia is an underdiagnosed and undertreated entity, so it is necessary to apply an appropriate system to optimize its management and, in future studies, to assess its impact on PHs.

甘蓝型油菜黑胫病是由子囊菌Leptosphaeria maculans（Phoma lingam）引起的一种世界性范围的重要病害。野生十字花科作物是重要的抗性资源。尽管基因组原位杂交在油菜和其近缘属的应用还有一定的局限性,但是也为检测种间杂种的外源染色体提供了重要的技术手段。本研究中,我们用原位杂交技术检测了Brassica napus（2n=38）和sinapi arvensis（2n=18）,Coincya monensis（2n=24）和Brassica juncea（2n=36）种间杂交回交后代,都显示了对黑胫病的抗性。在甘蓝型油菜背景下,分别检测到附加了***和***染色体的单体和双单体。另外,在所有的三个组合中都得到了预期没有GIsH信号的重组系（2n=38）。这些植株在子叶期和成株期对两个种群（病原性族群4）有抗性。W4来自德国,m1来自澳大利亚。后者是已知的可克服芸薹属B-基因组的抗性。来源于***和***后代成株期抗性遗传稳定性比子叶期更稳定。***后代的2个成株期的抗性基因已经鉴定出来,而***子叶期的抗性可能是由其它两个基因控制。***后代成株期抗性可能是由于m1的单基因遗传被附加的上位基因修饰引起的。混倍体在随后的回交世代中逐渐减少。
