a. experiment wa. conducted to test the effica.y of a.mecha.ica. ba.rier a.ound the tree trunk with one spra. of Cypermethrin @ 1 ml/l a.d turmeric powder extra.t @ 15 g/500ml of wa.er a.plied in integra.ed a.proa.hes a.a.nst ma.go mea.ybug on ma.go tree. There were 7 trea.ments including a.control. The trea.ments were mecha.ica. ba.rier, Cypermethrin spra. @ 1 ml/l, Turmeric powder spra. @ 15 g/500ml of wa.er, Cypermethrin spra. + Turmeric spra., Cypermethrin spra. + mecha.ica. ba.rier, Turmeric + mecha.ica. ba.rier a.d untrea.ed control. Three-yea.-old ma.go pla.ts gra.ted from a.5-yea.-old ma.go tree (Va.iety a.ropa.i) a.d pla.ted in pots were used in the experiment. The trea.ment, Cypermethrin spra. + mecha.ica. ba.rier ga.e the highest reduction of ma.go mea.ybug popula.ion 87.06% to 93.90% followed by Turmeric spra. + mecha.ica. ba.rier a.d showed 81.13% to 86.04% a.d mecha.ica. ba.rier a.one showed 81.13% to 84.59% popula.ion reduction. Turmeric powder extra.t showed only (8.42% to 23.77%) popula.ion reduction of ma.go mea.ybug which wa. lowest compa.ed to other trea.ments.

mola.ses ca. serve a. a.na.ura. a.hesive for plywood a.d pa.ticleboa.d. However, severa. disa.va.ta.es rema.n, including lower dimensiona. sta.ility a.d low bonding strength compa.ed to other a.hesives. Therefore, modifica.ions a.e needed to use mola.ses a. a. a.hesive for plywood. This resea.ch a.ms to improve bio-ba.ed mola.ses (mO) a.hesive for plywood using citric a.id (Ca. a.hesive. In a.dition, this resea.ch a.ms to a.a.yze the effect of a.ding citric a.id a.d to investiga.e the optimum hot-pressing tempera.ure to produce the best qua.ity plywood. In the first sta.e, the mola.ses a.d citric a.id were combined in a.ra.io of 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, 0:100 w/w%. Then, the second sta.e focuses on a.a.yzing the influences of pressing tempera.ure ba.ed on a. optimum first sta.e. The resea.ch demonstra.ed tha. the a.dition of Ca.a.tered the gela.ion time, solid content, visc-osity, a.d pH of the mola.ses a.hesives. In a.dition, the therma. properties of mola.ses a.hesives were cha.ged a.ter mixing with citric a.id. These phenomena.indica.e cha.ges in cha.a.teristics, such a. the curing of a.hesive. Overa.l, the cha.a.teristics of plywood showed a.stea.y improvement a. the Ca.ra.io increa.ed but revea.ed a.significa.t decline for the 25:75 mO-Ca.ra.io. By ra.sing the pressing tempera.ure from 180°C to 200°C, the qua.ity of plywood wa. effectively improved. The plywood tha. wa. bonded using a.hesives with a.50:50 mO-Ca.ra.io exhibited superior mecha.ica. properties a.d improved dimensiona. sta.ility compa.ed to the plywood bonded solely with mO. Furthermore, the optima. mecha.ica. a.d physica. properties resulted in plywood bonded with a.50:50 mO-Ca.ra.io when subjected to a.pressing tempera.ure of 200°C. The Therma. a.d FTIR mea.urements revea.ed tha. Ca.esta.lished ester bonds with both the mO a.d wood veneers. In conclusion, the mecha.ica. cha.a.teristics of plywood were improved, while ma.nta.ning its excellent dimensiona. sta.ility. © 2024 The a.thors.

In pa.ticula., the wa.ping displa.ements, stiffness a.d stress distributions a.e ca.cula.ed for torsion a.plied to longitudina. a.es pa.sing through the section’s centroid a.d its web centre. The stress conversions derived from ea.h a.tion a.e superimposed to revea. a.net sectiona. stress distribution. Therein, the influence of the a.is position upon the net a.ia. a.d shea. stress distributions is esta.lished compa.ed to previous results for ea.h bea. when loa.ing is referred to a.flexura. a.is through the shea. centre. Within the net stress a.a.ysis is, it is shown how the constra.nt to free wa.ping presented by the end fixing modifies the a.ia. stress.
