Sparse-Grid Implementation of Fixed-Point Fast Sweeping WENO Schemes for Eikonal Equations

Fixed-point fast sweeping methods are a class of explicit iterative methods developed in the literature to efficiently solve steady-state solutions of hyperbolic partial differential equations(PDEs).As other types of fast sweeping schemes,fixed-point fast sweeping methods use the Gauss-Seidel iterations and alternating sweeping strategy to cover characteristics of hyperbolic PDEs in a certain direction simultaneously in each sweeping *** resulting iterative schemes have a fast convergence rate to steady-state ***,an advantage of fixed-point fast sweeping methods over other types of fast sweeping methods is that they are explicit and do not involve the inverse operation of any nonlinear local ***,they are robust and flexible,and have been combined with high-order accurate weighted essentially non-oscillatory(WENO)schemes to solve various hyperbolic PDEs in the *** multidimensional nonlinear problems,high-order fixed-point fast sweeping WENO methods still require quite a large amount of computational *** this technical note,we apply sparse-grid techniques,an effective approximation tool for multidimensional problems,to fixed-point fast sweeping WENO methods for reducing their computational ***,we focus on fixed-point fast sweeping WENO schemes with third-order accuracy(zhang et al.2006[41]),for solving Eikonal equations,an important class of static Hamilton-Jacobi(H-J)*** experiments on solving multidimensional Eikonal equations and a more general static H-J equation are performed to show that the sparse-grid computations of the fixed-point fast sweeping WENO schemes achieve large savings of CPU times on refined meshes,and at the same time maintain comparable accuracy and resolution with those on corresponding regular single grids.

Double-site catalysts have attracted widespread attention in the field of electrocatalysis due to their high metal loading,adjustable active centres,and electronic valence ***,the development of bimetallic sites catalysts that coordinate with definite atoms is still in the exploratory ***,we designed and synthesized a bimetallic palladium complex(BPB-Pd_(2))with conjugated *** supported BPB-Pd_(2)was applied to electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)for the first *** as-obtained BPB-Pd_(2)gives an exceptional Faradaic efficiency of CO(FECO)of 94.4%at−0.80 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE),which is significantly superior to monoatomic palladium catalyst(BPB-Pd1).The density functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed that the essential reason for the outstanding activity of BPB-Pd_(2)toward CO_(2)RR was that the electronic effect between diatomic palladium reduces the free energy change for CO_(2)RR ***,BPB-Pd_(2)exhibits moderate free energy change to form COOH*intermediate,which was beneficial for the generation of CO in CO_(2)RR.

Exclusive responsiveness to ultraviolet light (~3.2 eV) and high photogenerated charge recombination rate are the two primary drawbacks of pure TiO_(2). We combined N-doped graphene quantum dots (N-GQDs), morphology regulation, and heterojunction construction strategies to synthesize N-GQD/N-doped TiO_(2)/P-doped porous hollow g-C_(3)N_(4) nanotube (PCN) composite photocatalysts (denoted as G-TPCN). The optimal sample (G-TPCN doped with 0.1wt% N-GQD, denoted as 0.1% G-TPCN) exhibits significantly enhanced photoabsorption, which is attributed to the change in bandgap caused by elemental doping (P and N), the improved light-harvesting resulting from the tube structure, and the upconversion effect of N-GQDs. In addition, the internal charge separation and transfer capability of0.1% G-TPCN are dramatically boosted, and its carrier concentration is 3.7, 2.3, and 1.9 times that of N-TiO_(2), PCN, and N-TiO_(2)/PCN(TPCN-1), respectively. This phenomenon is attributed to the formation of Z-scheme heterojunction between N-TiO_(2) and PCNs, the excellent electron conduction ability of N-GQDs, and the short transfer distance caused by the porous nanotube structure. Compared with those of N-TiO_(2), PCNs, and TPCN-1, the H2 production activity of 0.1%G-TPCN under visible light is enhanced by 12.4, 2.3, and 1.4times, respectively, and its ciprofloxacin (CIP) degradation rate is increased by 7.9, 5.7, and 2.9 times, respectively. The optimized performance benefits from excellent photoresponsiveness and improved carrier separation and migration efficiencies. Finally, the photocatalytic mechanism of 0.1% G-TPCN and five possible degradation pathways of CIP are proposed. This study clarifies the mechanism of multiple modification strategies to synergistically improve the photocatalytic performance of 0.1% G-TPCN and provides a potential strategy for rationally designing novel photocatalysts for environmental remediation and solar energy conversion.

An Integral method for Solving Dynamic Equations with Fluid–Solid Coupling

In this work,a new methodology is presented to mainly solve the fluid–solid interaction(FSI)*** methodology combines the advantages of the Newmark precise integral method(NPIm)and the dual neural network(DNN)*** NPIm is employed to modify the exponential matrix and loading vector based on the DNN integral *** involves incorporating the basic assumption of the Newmark-βmethod into the dynamic equation and eliminating the acceleration term from the dynamic equilibrium *** a result,the equation is reduced to a first-order linear equation ***,the PIm is applied to integrate the system step by step within the *** DNN method is adopted to solve the inhomogeneous term through fitting the integrand and the original function with a pair of neural networks,and the integral term is solved using the Newton–Leibniz *** examples demonstrate that the proposed methodology significantly improves computing efficiency and provides sufficient precision compared to the DNN *** is particularly evident when analyzing large-scale structures under blast loading conditions.

Denoising(DN) and demosaicing(Dm) are the first crucial stages in the image signal processing pipeline. Recently, researches pay more attention to solve DN and Dm in a joint manner, which is an extremely undetermined inverse problem. Existing deep learning methods learn the desired prior on synthetic dataset, which limits the generalization of learned network to the real world data. moreover, existing methods mainly focus on the raw data property of high green information sampling rate for Dm, but occasionally exploit the high intensity and signalto-noise(SNR) of green channel. In this work, a deep guided attention network(DGAN) is presented for real image joint DN and Dm(JDD), which considers both high SNR and high sampling rate of green information for DN and Dm, respectively. To ease the training and fully exploit the data property of green channel, we first train DN and Dm sub-networks sequentially and then learn them jointly, which can alleviate the error accumulation. Besides, in order to support the real image JDD, we collect paired raw clean RGB and noisy mosaic images to conduct a realistic dataset. The experimental results on real JDD dataset show the presented approach performs better than the state-of-the-art methods, in terms of both quantitative metrics and qualitative visualization.

Platinum(Pt)-based materials are still the most efficient and practical catalysts to drive the sluggish kinetics of cathodic oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)in proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEmFCs).However,their catalysis and stability performance still need to be further improved in terms of corrosion of both carbon support and Pt catalyst particles as well as Pt loading *** on the developed synthetic strategies of alloying/nanostructuring Pt particles and modifying/innovating supports in developing conventional Pt-based catalysts,Pt single-atom catalysts(Pt SACs)as the recently burgeoning hot materials with a potential to achieve the maximum utilization of Pt are comprehensively reviewed in this *** design thoughts and synthesis of various isolated,alloyed,and nanoparticlecontained Pt SACs are *** single-atomic Pt coordinating with non-metals and alloying with metals as well as the metal-support interactions of Pt single-atoms with carbon/non-carbon supports are emphasized in terms of the ORR activity and stability of the *** advance further research and development of Pt SACs for viable implementation in PEmFCs,various technical challenges and several potential research directions are outlined.
