New Polymer Syntheses Part 60: A Facile Synthetic Route to Polyamides Based on Thieno[2,3-b]thiophene and Their Corrosion inhibition Behavior

Polyamides containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene moiety were prepared via a simple polycondensation reaction of the diaminothieno[2,3-b]thiophene monomer la with different kinds of diacid chlorides （including oxalyl, adipoyl, sebacoyl, isophthaloyl, terephthaloyl, 4,4＇-azodibenzoyl, 3,3＇-azodibenzoyl, p-phenylene diacryloyl） in the presence of LiC1 and NmP as a solvent through lowtemperature solution polycondensation. The chemical structures of model compound and synthesized polyamides were confirmed by FTiR, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy （including 1 H-NmR and 13 C-NmR） and elemental analysis. in addition, the thermal stability, crystallinity structure and surface morphology of synthesized polyamides were characterized via thermogravametric analysis （TGA）, wide-angle X-ray diffraction analysis （WAXD） and scanning electron microscopy （SEm）. Also, the corrosion inhibition behavior of selected examples ofpolyamides was investigated; the inhibitive effect of the investigated polymers for carbon steel in 1.0 mol＇L-1 HCi was studied using potentiodynamic polarization （PDP） and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EiS） methods. PDP results displayed that the polyamides containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene moiety can be as mixed-type inhibitors. The inhibition efficiency （P, %） was found to be in the range from 67.13% to 96.01%. There is an increase in P by the synthesized polymers in comparison to the starting monomer. The adsorption of these polymers was found to obey Langmuir adsorption isotherm.

Predictors of long-term survival after pancreaticoduodenectomy for peri-ampullary adenocarcinoma: A retrospective study of 5-year survivors

Background: Pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD) is the standard curative treatment for periampullary tumors. The aim of this study is to report the incidence and predictors of long-term survival( ≥ 5 years) after PD. methods: This study included patients who underwent PD for pathologically proven periampullary adenocarcinomas. Patients were divided into 2 groups: group(i) patients who survived less than 5 years and group(ii) patients who survived ≥ 5 years. Results: There were 47(20.6%) long-term survivors( ≥ 5 years) among 228 patients underwent PD for periampullary adenocarcinoma. Patients with ampullary adenocarcinoma represented 31(66.0%) of the long-term survivors. Primary analysis showed that favourable factors for long-term survival include age m CEA mL, serum CA 19-9 mL, non-cirrhotic liver, tumor size m, site of primary tumor, postoperative pancreatic fistula, R0 resection, postoperative chemotherapy, and no recurrence. multivariate analysis demonstrated that CA 19-9 mL [OR(95% Ci) = 1.712(1.24 8–2.34 8), P = 0.001], smaller tumor size [OR(95% Ci) = 1.335(1.032–1.726), P = 0.028] and R0 resection [OR(95% Ci) = 3.098(2.095–4.582), P independent factors for survival ≥ 5 years. The prognosis was best for ampullary adenocarcinoma, for which the median survival was 54 months and 5-year survival rate was 39.0%, and the poorest was pancreatic head adenocarcinoma, for which the median survival was 27 months and 5-year survival rate was 7%. Conclusions: The majority of long-term survivors after PD for periampullary adenocarcinoma are patients with ampullary tumor. CA 19-9 mL, smaller tumor size, and R0 resection were found to be independent factors for long-term survival ≥ 5 years.

Functional evaluation of the filtering bleb by ultrasound biomicroscopy after trabeculectomy with mitomycin C

Aim： To study the role of ultrasound biomicroscopy（UBm） in the assessment of the bleb function after trabeculectomy with mitomycin C（mmC）. mETHODS： This was a cross-sectional study including all cases had undergone trabeculectomy with mmC 0.2 mg/mL for 3 min. Participants were recruited from the follow-up cases at Department of Ophthalmology, Tanta University in the period from August 2015 to August 2016. Full history taking and ophthalmological examination were performed. intraocular pressure（iOP） was measured using Goldmann applanation tonometry and the history of prescribed postoperative antiglaucoma medications was recorded. Accordingly, the trabeculectomy blebs were divided clinically into successful blebs when the iOP post-operative was ≤18 mmHg without medications. Scanning examination of the filtering bleb using UBm examination was performed at the period from 2 to 36 mo after trabeculectomy（13.6±9.7 m o）. RESULTS： This study included 33 trabeculectomy filtering blebs of 25 patients（9 males and 16 females）. The mean age of patients was 53.2±14.2 y（range 25-71y）. We had 20 eyes with complete success, 9 eyes with qualified success, and 4 eyes with failure after trabeculectomy with mmC. The blebs were classified into successful blebs（iOP ≤18 mmHg without antiglaucoma medications）, others were classified into qualified successful and failed blebs. There was a significant correlation between certain UBm findings（intra-bleb reflectivity, draining sub-scleral tract, bleb height, and intrableb fluid cysts） and cases with different grades of clinical functional success（P〈0.01）.CONCLUSiON： UBm is an objective tool in the functional assessment of the post-trabeculectomy filtering bleb through a significant correlation between certain UBm parameters and the different grades of clinical functional success.

influence of host age and host deprivation on longevity, egg load dynamics and oviposition rate in microplitis rufiventris

Adult size, longevity, egg load dynamics and oviposition ofmicroplitis rufiventris Kok. which began their development in the first, second, third （preferred hosts） or fourth （non-preferred hosts） instar larvae of Spodoptera littoralis （Boisd.） were studied. The parasitoid size was largely determined by the initial host size at parasitism. Non-ovipositing females derived from older hosts lived for longer periods than those derived from younger ones. However, the ovipositing females, irrespective of their size, lived for almost the same periods. At emergence, the oviducts of adult females contain a significant amount of mature eggs available for oviposition for a few hours on eclosion day. Egg load increases during the early phase of adult life. The amount of additional mature eggs and rate of egg maturation per hour was greater for wasps derived from preferred hosts compared with those in females derived from non-preferred hosts. The pattern of egg production in m. rufiventris females depended on the availability of hosts for parasitization. Host-deprived females depleted the egg complement with aging; the longer the host deprivation, the lower the oviduct egg load. marked reduction in both realized or potential fecundity of host-deprived females was observed following host availability. Host privation for more than 3 days induced a marked deficit fecundity pattern through the female＇ s life. The realized fecundity was determined by the interaction among host availability, the number of eggs that are matured over the female＇ s life span, oviposition rate and host size from which the female was derived. These results suggest that：（i） m. rufiventris wasp is a weak synovigenic species; （ii） the maturation of additional eggs is inhibited once the maximum oviduct egg load is reached; （iii） the egg load of the newly emerged female is significantly less than the realized fecundity; and （iv） because m. rufiventris females oviposit fewer eggs when they begin depleting their

Corrosion Behaviour of Nickel in Chloroacetic Acids and its inhibition

Anodic dissolution behaviour of Ni in mono-, di- and trichloroacetic acids has been investigated by measuring current densities of Ni electrode (versus SCE) at different potentials. Effects of acid concentration, pH, scan rate and additive inhibitor on the potential were studied and they revealed that there is a considerable shift of potential. Potentiodynamic polarization measurements show that the corrosion rate of Ni in chloroacetic acid solutions increases by increasing the previous factors. However, by adding inhibitor, it decreases.

At present,the immense development of social networks allows generating a significant amount of textual data,which has facilitated researchers to explore the field of opinion *** addition,the processing of textual opinions based on the term frequency-inverse document frequency method gives rise to a dimensionality *** study aims to detect the nature of opinions in the Arabic language employing a swarm intelligence(Si)-based algorithm,Harris hawks algorithm,to select the most relevant *** experimental study has been tested on two datasets:Arabic Jordanian General Tweets and Opinion Corpus for *** terms of accuracy and number of features,the results are better than those of other Si based algorithms,such as grey wolf optimizer and grasshopper optimization algorithm,and other algorithms in the literature,such as differential evolution,genetic algorithm,particle swarm optimization,basic and enhanced whale optimizer algorithm,slap swarm algorithm,and ant–lion optimizer.

Synthesis of an eco-friendly nanocomposite fertilizer for common bean based on carbon nanoparticles from agricultural waste biochar

The burning of agricultural waste is a major cause of environmental *** this study,we sought to prepare biochar from agricultural waste as a source material for the preparation of carbon nanoparticles(CNPs).Surface morphology,hydrodynamic particle size,and purity and crystallinity of CNPs were extensively investigated using transmission electron microscopy(TEm),zeta sizing,and X-ray diffraction(XRD)spectroscopy,*** CNPs were subsequently immersed in a solution of potassium nitrate(KNO_(3))to prepare a CNPs/NK nanocomposite(CNPs loaded with nitrogen(N)and potassium(K))as a nanocomposite fertilizer for common bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.).The CNPs/NK nanocomposite was sprayed as a foliar fertilizer at 0,10,20,30,and 40 mg L^(-1) on common bean plants 25 d after sowing on a farm in Shebin el-Kom,el-monifia,*** growth,yield,and quality of common bean were investigated during two successive growing seasons(2017 and 2018).The highest seed yields of 2.04 and 2.01 t ha^(-1) and the highest values of growth parameters including plant height of 61.5 and 59.2 cm,number of leaves per plant of 35 and 35,number of flowers per plant of 83.3 and 82.7,and plant fresh weight of 148.7 and 152.8 g plant^(-1) were obtained when using the CNPs/NK nanocomposite at a concentration of 20 mg L^(-1) during the 2017 and 2018 growing seasons,respectively.

The four isolates solid complexes:[La(RHC)(NO_(3))_(2)]·3H_(2)O,[Nd(RHC)(NO_(3))_(2)]·4H_(2)O,[Eu(RHC)(NO_(3))_(2)]·2H_(2)O,and[Ce(RHC)(NO_(3))_(2)]·5H_(2)O that obtained by the reaction of the nitrate salts of the Ce(Ⅲ),Eu(Ⅲ),Nd(Ⅲ)and La(Ⅲ)ions and rhodamie C(RHC)ligand were interpretative using elemental analysis(C,H and N),molar conductivity,infrared,electronic,fluorescence and 1H-NmR spectra to achieve the speculated suitable *** low molar conductance values of the synthesized RHC complexes concluded the non-electrolytic *** infrared spectra recorded the absence of stretching vibrationν(OH)of the—COOH and presence of two new vibration bands at 1597~1601 and 1383~1399 cm^(-1)which were assigned toνas(COO-)andνs(COO-).The difference between them revealed that the carboxylate group acts as a bidentate ligand.1HNmR spectra of Europium and lanthanum(Ⅲ)complexes were supported the FTiR results based on the absent of proton of the carboxylic ***,the microanalytical and spectroscopic results deduced that RHC acts as a monobasic bidentate ligand,and coordinated to the central metal(Ⅲ)ions via the two oxygen atoms of deprotonated carboxylic *** studies were performed on the metal complexes of Ce^(3+),Tb^(3+),Th^(4+),Gd^(3+)and La^(3+),that referred a quenching in the fluorescene intensity of rhodamine C in the aqueous state after *** antimicrobial assessment against some kind of bacteria and fungi were also checked and recorded enhancement in case of their complexes.

Parkinson’s disease(PD),one of whose symptoms is dysphonia,is a prevalent neurodegenerative *** use of outdated diagnosis techniques,which yield inaccurate and unreliable results,continues to represent an obstacle in early-stage detection and diagnosis for clinical professionals in the medical *** solve this issue,the study proposes using machine learning and deep learning models to analyze processed speech signals of patients’voice *** of these processed speech signals were obtained and experimented on by random forest and logistic regression *** were highly successful,with 90%accuracy produced by the random forest classifier and 81.5%by the logistic regression ***,a deep neural network was implemented to investigate if such variation in method could add to the *** proved to be effective,as the neural network yielded an accuracy of nearly 92%.Such results suggest that it is possible to accurately diagnose early-stage PD through merely testing patients’*** research calls for a revolutionary diagnostic approach in decision support systems,and is the first step in a market-wide implementation of healthcare software dedicated to the aid of clinicians in early diagnosis of PD.

The influence of Thomson effect and inclined loads in an electro-magneto-thermoelastic solid with voids under green-Naghdi theories

The present investigation deals with the 2-dimensional deformation in a homogeneous thermoelastic solid with voids subjected to inclined *** heat conduction equation is affected with the Thomson *** basic governing equations are modified by using Green-Naghdi theory of *** normal mode analysis technique is used to obtain the components of stress,strain,temperature,induced magnetic field and change in volume fraction *** variations of these quantities have been depicted graphically in the Green-Naghdi theories of type-ii and iii for an insulated *** numerical calculations,the effect of Thomson parameter and angle of inclination on a homogeneous,isotropic,electro-magneto-thermoelastic material with voids is revealed and discussed.
