Heavy-metal-free ternary Cu–In–Se quantum dots(CISe QDs)are promising for solar fuel production because of their low toxicity,tunable band gap,and high light absorption *** defects significantly affect the photophysical properties of QDs,the influence on photoelectrochemical hydrogen production is not well ***,we present the defect engineering of CISe QDs for efficient solar-energy *** acid–base reactions between metal halide–oleylam.ne complexes and oleylamm.nium selenocarbamate are modulated to achieve CISe QDs with the controlled amount of Cu vacancies without changing their *** them,CISe QDs with In/Cu=1.55 show the most outstanding photoelectrochemical hydrogen generation with excellent photocurrent density of up to 10.7 mA cm-2(at 0.6 VRHE),attributed to the suitable electronic band structures and enhanced carrier concentrations/lifetimes of the *** proposed method,which can effectively control the defects in heavy-metal-free ternary QDs,offers a deeper understanding of the effects of the defects and provides a practical approach to enhance photoelectrochemical hydrogen generation.

The hydration of quick lime and the sulfation of hydrated lime were carried out for verification of relationship between the reactivity of quick lime and the properties of hydrated lime as a sorbent. The effect of reactivity of quick lime was investigated with the change of calcination temperature and time. Results obtained showed that the temperature rise during the hydration of quick limes varied from 31 to 69℃ with the variation of calcination temperature and time. The specific surface area and the sulfation ability of hydrated lime prepared by hydration of quick lime showed a proportional relationship with the reactivity of quick lime. The hydrated lime which was prepared by hydration of quick lime calcined at 1100℃ had the highest reactivity and showed 41.53 m^2/g of the specific surface area, 0.16 cm^3/g of the pore volume and 87% of the removal efficiency for SO2 removal,

Wire+arc additive m.nufacturing(WAAm)is considered an innovative technology that can change the m.nufacturing landscape in the near *** offers the benefits of inexpensive initial system setup and a high deposition rate for fabricating medium-and large-sized parts such as die-casting *** this study,AISI H13 tool steel,a popular die-casting tool metal,is m.nufactured by cold metal transfer(CmT)-based WAAm and is then comprehensively analyzed for its microstructural and mechanical ***-dependent phase combinations are observed,which could be explained by nonequilibrium thermal cycles that resulted from the layer-by-layer stacking mechanism used in *** addition,remelting and reheating of the layers reduces welding anomalies(e.g.,pores and voids).The metallurgical characteristics of the H13 strongly correlate with the mechanical *** combinations of phases at different locations of the additively m.nufactured part exhibit a periodic microhardness ***,Retained Austenite,Ferrite,and Carbide phases are found in combination at different locations of the part based on the part’s temperature distribution during additive ***,the tensile properties at elevated temperatures(23℃,300℃,and 600℃)are comparable to those from other WAAm and additive m.nufacturing(Am)*** X-ray diffraction results verify that the microstructural stability of the fabricated parts at high temperatures would allow them to be used in high temperatures.

To investigate a possible therapeutic mechanism of cell therapy in the field of cerebral palsy using granulocyte-colony stimulating factor（G-CSF）-mobilized peripheral blood m.nonuclear cells（m PBmCs）,we compared the expression of inflammatory cytokines and neurotrophic factors in PBmCs and m PBmCs from children with cerebral palsy to those from healthy adult donors and to cord blood m.nonuclear cells donated from healthy *** significant differences in expression of neurotrophic factors were found between PBmCs and m ***,in cerebral palsy children,the expression of interleukin-6 was significantly increased in m PBmCs as compared to PBmCs,and the expression of interleukin-3 was significantly decreased in m PBmCs as compared to *** healthy adults,the expression levels of both interleukin-1βand interleukin-6 were significantly increased in m PBmCs as compared to *** expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factors in m PBmC from cerebral palsy children was significantly higher than that in the cord blood or m PBmCs from healthy *** expression of G-CSF in m PBmCs from cerebral palsy children was comparable to that in the cord blood but significantly higher than that in m PBmCs from healthy *** expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines（interleukin-1β,interleukin-3,and-6）and higher expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines（interleukin-8 and interleukin-9）were observed from the cord blood and m PBmCs from cerebral palsy children rather than from healthy *** findings indicate that m PBmCs from cerebral palsy and cord blood m.nonuclear cells from healthy newborns have the potential to become seed cells for treatm.nt of cerebral palsy.

Background:Heat stress is a significant problem in the poultry industry,causing a severe economic loss due to its detrim.ntal effects on chickens’health and *** plum(DP)is a good source of m.nerals,vitam.ns,antioxidants,and phenolic *** have suggested that DP has several health benefits,such as maintaining the body’s redox system,imm.ne status,and calcium *** on the health benefits of DP,we hypothesized that the dietary supplem.ntation of DP would alleviate the detrim.ntal effects of heat stress on broiler ***:To test the hypothesis,day-old broiler chicks(n=72)were randomly allocated to three treatm.nt groups(n=24/group):no heat stress(nHS),heat stress(HS),and heat stress with dried plum(HS+DP),and reared under standard *** inclusion of 2.5%DP in the feed of the HS+DP group was made during the treatm.nt period,while birds in other groups were provided with a standard finisher *** 21 days,birds in the HS and HS+DP groups were exposed to cyclic heat stress conditions(33℃ for 8 h during daytime)for 3 weeks,while those in the nHS group were reared under normal conditions(22-24℃).Weekly body weight and feed intake were recorded to calculate the average daily gain(ADG),average daily feed intake(ADFI),and feed conversion ratio(FCR).Heat stress significantly decreased the final body weight,ADG,ADFI,and increased FCR compared to the nHS group,whereas dietary supplem.ntation of DP significantly improved these growth perform.nce parameters compared to the HS ***,supplem.ntation of DP significantly increased the expression of heat shock protein-related genes(HSF1,HSF3,HSP70,and HSP90),antioxidant-related genes(SOD1,SOD2,GPX1,GPX3,PRDX1,and TXn),tight junction-related genes(CLDn1,and OCLn),and imm.ne-related genes(IL4,mUC2)in the ileum as compared to the HS *** microbiota analysis showed significant enrichm.nt of Bacillales,Christensenellaceae,Bacillaceae,Peptostreptococcaceae,and Anaerot

AIm:To assess the significance of interleukin(IL)-24 and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)expression in lymph-node-positive rectal cancer. mETHODS:Between 1998 and 2005,90 rectal adenocarcinoma patients with lymph node involvem.nt were *** patients received radical surgery and postoperative pelvic chemoradiotherapy of 50.4-54.0 *** of 5-fluorouracil and leucovorin or levamisole was given intravenously during the first and last week of radiotherapy,and then m.nthly for about 6 *** of IL-24 and VEGF was evaluated by imm.nohistochemical staining of surgical specim.ns, and their relations with patient characteristics and survival were *** median follow-up of surviving patients was 73 mo(range:52-122 mo). RESULTS:IL-24 expression was found in 81 out of 90 patients;31 showed weak intensity and 50 showedstrong *** expression was found in 64 out of 90 *** and weak intensities of IL-24 expression were classified as negative expression for ***-24 expression was significantly reduced in poorly differentiated tumors in comparison with well or moderately differentiated tumors(P=0.004),n2b to earlier n stages(P=0.016),and stageⅢc to stageⅢ a orⅢb(P=0.028).The number of involved lymph nodes was also significantly reduced in IL-24-positive patients in comparison with IL-24-negative ones. There was no correlation between VEGF expression and patient *** of IL-24 and VEGF was not correlated with survival,but n stage and stages were significantly correlated with survival. COnCLUSIOn:IL-24 expression was significantly correlated with histological differentiation,and inversely correlated with the degree of lymph node involvem.nt in stageⅢrectal cancer.
