A Quantum Neurological model of Perception-Cognition and Awareness in Ambiguous Figures and the Case of the Dalmatian Dog

The present paper has mainly the aim to formulate a quantum neurological model of brain dynamics during perception and cognition of ambiguous figures here including the case of the Dalmatian dog. First of all, we summarize our previous experimental and theoretical studies, evidencing as the basic conceptual foundations of quantum mechanics enter in a decisive manner in explaining the basic functions of brain dynamics at perceptive and cognitive level and at the level of our consciousness. This is done in detail in Sections 2 and 3 where we discuss also the role of the so called quantum interference effect and we include here the results of an our recent experiment confirming the role of quantum theory and of its quantum interference effect also at perceptive-cognitive and awareness levels. In Section 4, following our previous study, we consider the so called mach-Zehnder interferometer. It is a physical device that is employed in quantum mechanical experiments in order to analyze such quantum interference effect. Soon after the discussion of this device, we proceed with the elaboration of a detailed quantum neurological model in the sense that we consider the brain regions identified in V1;V2/V3/V4 and A20 and we obtain that they may behave just as the beam splitters involved in the mach-Zehnder quantum mechanical interferometer. In this manner, we formulate a model of V1;V2/V3/V4, A20 brain dynamics as a mach-Zehnder interferometer and such model delineates a proposed neurological mechanism explaining perception-cognition and awareness in humans under the input of ambiguous figures and in the particular case of the Dalmatian dog.

breast cancer is the predominant form of carcinoma among women worldwide,with 70%of advanced patients developing bone metastases,with a high mortality *** this sense,the bone marrow(bm)mesenchymal stem/stromal cells(mSCs)are critical for bm/bone homeostasis,and failures in their functionality,transform the bm into a premetastatic niche(PmN).We previously found that bm-mSCs from advanced breast cancer patients(bCPs,infiltrative ductal carcinoma,stage III-b)have an abnormal *** work aims to study some of the metabolic and molecular mechanisms underlying mSCs shift from a normal to an abnormal profile in this group of patients.A comparative analysis was undertaken,which included self-renewal capacity,morphology,proliferation capacity,cell cycle,reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels,and senescence-associatedβ‑galactosidase(SA‑β‑gal)staining of bmderived mSCs isolated from 14 bCPs and 9 healthy volunteers(HVs).Additionally,the expression and activity of the telomerase subunit TERT,as well as telomere length,were *** levels of pluripotency,osteogenic,and osteoclastogenic genes(OCT-4,SOX-2,m-cam,RUNX-2,bmP-2,CCL-2,m-CSF,and IL-6)were also *** results showed that mSCs from bCPs had reduced,self-renewal and proliferation *** cells also exhibited inhibited cell cycle progression and phenotypic changes,such as an enlarged and flattened ***,there was an increase in ROS and senescence levels and a decrease in the functional capacity of TERT to preserve telomere *** also found an increase in pro-inflammatory/pro-osteoclastogenic gene expression and a decrease in pluripotency gene *** conclude that these changes could be responsible for the abnormal functional profile that mSCs show in this group of patients.

background: being non-immunogenic and capable of achieving major metabolic liver functions, adult-derived human liver stem/progenitor cells (ADHLSCs) are of special interest in the field of liver cell therapy. The cytokine repertoire of engrafted cells may have critical impacts on the immune response balance, particularly during cell transplantation. methods: In this work, we analyzed the cytokinome of ADHLSCs during hepatogenic differentiation (HD) following stimulation with a mixture of inflammatory cytokines (I) in vitro and compared it to that of mature hepatocytes. Results: Independent of their hepatic state, ADHLSCs showed no constitutive expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which were significantly induced by inflammation (IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, TNFα, CCL5, IL-12a, IL-12b, IL-23p19, IL-27p28 and EbI-3). IL1-ra and IDO-1, as immunoregulatory cytokines, were highly induced in undifferentiated ADHLSCs, whereas TGF-β was downregulated by both hepatic and inflammatory events. Interestingly, TDO-1 was exclusively expressed in ADHLSCs after hepatic differentiation and enhanced by inflammatory cytokines. Compared to mature hepatocytes, hepatic-differentiated ADHLSCs showed significantly different cytokine expression patterns. Conclusions: by establishing the cytokinome of ADHLSCs and highlighting their immunological and inflammatory features, we can enhance our knowledge about the safety and efficiency of the transplantation strategy.

Habitat selection by nestbox-breeding birds and Roe Deer are incongruent within a heterogeneous woodland landscape

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CovV-2)infection is associated with a hyperinflammatory state and lymphocytopenia,a hallmark that appears as both signature and prognosis of disease severity *** cytokine storm and a sustained inflammatory state are commonly associated with immune cell depletion,it is still unclear whether direct SARS-Cov-2 infection of immune cells could also play a role in this scenario by harboring viral *** found that monocytes,as well as both b and T lymphocytes,were susceptible to SARS-Cov-2 infection in vitro,accumulating double-stranded RNA consistent with viral RNA replication and ultimately leading to expressive T cell *** addition,flow cytometry and immunofluorescence analysis revealed that SARS-Cov-2 was frequently detected in monocytes and b lymphocytes from coronavirus disease 2019(CoVID-19)*** rates of SARS-Cov-2-infected monocytes in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from CoVID-19 patients increased over time from symptom onset,with SARS-CoV-2-positive monocytes,b cells,and CD4+T lymphocytes also detected in postmortem lung *** results indicated that SARS-CoV-2 infection of blood-circulating leukocytes in covID-19 patients might have important implications for disease pathogenesis and progression,immune dysfunction,and virus spread within the host.
